Hot weather is still being felt across several regions of Indonesia into early October 2026. In fact, netizens on X are complaining en masse about the heat felt almost every day. High air temperatures also make conditions feel even more stifling, especially during the day. So, when will the rainy season arrive in Indonesia? The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, or BMKG, says the 2026-2027 rainy season is predicted not to occur simultaneously throughout all of Indonesia. Of the total 699 seasonal zones, some regions were already predicted to enter the rainy season from August to September 2026. Meanwhile, other regions are expected to begin experiencing the rainy season in October, November, and December 2026. In October 2026, 63 seasonal zones or 15.9% of Indonesia's land area are predicted to start entering the rainy season. That number increases in November, with 185 seasonal zones or 24.66% of Indonesia's land area expected to enter the rainy season. Here are the regions predicted to have rainfall in November 2026. Furthermore, 266 seasonal zones or 17.31% of Indonesia's land area are predicted to enter the rainy season in December 2026; here are the regions. This means most parts of Indonesia are predicted to start entering the rainy season from November to December 2026. However, a number of other regions are only expected to enter the rainy season from January, March, to May 2026. The BMKG predicts the start of the 2026-2027 rainy season in most of Indonesia will arrive later or be delayed compared to normal conditions. A total of 529 seasonal zones or 61.8% of Indonesia's land area are predicted to experience a later start to the rainy season. Meanwhile, 26 seasonal zones or 2.15% of the land area are expected to experience the start of the rainy season according to normal conditions. Although the start of the rainy season is predicted to be delayed, cumulative rainfall during the rainy season in most regions of Indonesia is expected to be in the normal category. The BMKG notes 510 seasonal zones or 69.76% of Indonesia's land area are predicted to experience rainfall in the normal category or close to its climatological average.
