This has to be one of the worst driveways in the UK. And it actually belongs to a world champion racing driver. A man who drives some of the fastest and most expensive cars for a living. From a podium to a driveway disaster. I'm going to completely transform it into a luxurious 30,000 masterpiece. All because I've got a secret mission which I will discuss later.

So, first we need to rip out the current driveway to start the transformation. But I can't do this alone. In come the celebrity guests, Arie.

Hello, Paul. Morning. And Aby. Hello, Tom. Now, the importance of any driveway transformation is the rip out because we can't start any work until we have got all of the old driveway ripped out. So, we split up into two teams. Me and Paul

tackled the front of the drive while Arbby and Ari started to work on the block at the side of the house. Now, these technically should come up really, really quickly. However, they didn't. So I jumped on to help the lads because we

had a grab arriving to collect the waste in 3 hours time. And then we found the answer to our problem. Me and the boys were just wondering why these blocks are so hard. Normally when you lay blocks, you just lay them on sand and then you

use a kiln grind sand to lock them in. But then just Tom's just a little secret. So we bought this house off Laura's grandparents. Um Fred after the driveway was laid thought that it probably needed a little bit of extra in

it. Not just sand. So, we went around with a couple of bags of cement and brushed it into the joints and then obviously as it's rained, they just made sure they didn't go anywhere.

They didn't go anywhere and they've not gone anywhere when we tried digging them out as well.

So, we now know why these blocks are super difficult to get out. All thanks to Laura's granddad. However, we have got the grab arriving in around 2 hours and we've still got to get all these blocks up and get that terram in. Now, the

biggest problem is if we don't get all the brick up, we can't install the terram and that is a huge, huge problem. So, we tried to push forward as best as we could. Now, let's talk about Tom. Tom is

a generational talent when it comes to racing. He has got so many wins under his belt, it is hard to count. He is the GOAT, a multi-championship winner. But I call Tom my friend. Oh, friends. And thankfully, after hours, we did get all

the blocks up, which meant we could move on to ripping out the fence. Now, Tom wasn't around at this stage. We didn't know if he owned the fence. However, it was terrible. So, we're going to replace it. And while we were doing that, we

left Paul to the important bit, scraping off the driveway to the perfect level so we could add that layer of terram. This is to prevent the migration of materials. And with perfect timing, the wagon had arrived with all of that type

three. And he also took away all of the waste. I don't think it's bad in 4 hours work. It's now time for the most important part of the whole job, which is the subbase. Now, this stuff, we got

very excited when it arrived. Now, you'll probably notice that it's got no fines in it. What I mean by fines is loads of tiny little bits of sand that you would normally get with type one.

Now, this is type three. And once we've got all this spread out to a nice depth, we'll show you why this is important.

So, what I'm about to do now is we're going to cut the membrane and lay it onto the other side. Paul is just moving all the hardcore away so we can make sure that the full driveway is covered

in that very important geotextile membrane. I'm going to quickly explain why this geotextile is so important.

Speaker A

You'll notice really close, it is super strong. The chances of this ripping is so, so slim and that is why it's important. So all the material sits on top and it stabilizes the ground below.

So, as Tom was figuring out what a tape measure was for, me and the lads continued to get that lovely terram.

How beautiful does this look? Oh, lovely. It's the small things in life, isn't it, guys? Oh, yeah. It makes you happy.

Back it up. Back it up. Half down here, mate. Back it up. Let's look at what we have achieved so far. We have dug down 150 mil. We've added a layer of terram.

And now we are also adding 100 mm of type 3 MOT. Harry, why are you using a brush, mate?

A lot easier. Now, this is why it is super important to just use type 3 MOT when you're putting in a permeable driveway.

The water just literally disappears below. Now, if this was type one, I'll show you what happens. So, essentially, type one MOT is a little bit like this where it's got loads of little fines.

So, when I tip this in now, you'll notice that the water will pool and it kind of sits there a little bit.

Eventually, this will find its way, but you can still see that's been there for a few seconds and it's still not dissipated. Whereas on that type three, the minute it rains, it just finds its way down to the ground below. Now that

we was done with the digger, it meant that Paul could put it on the back of the truck. Yikes.

What it does is this machine turns on, it vibrates, and because the plate's really heavy and flat, it vibrates all them stones in like this. You can get a nice solid surface. Let's give it a whack. Now, if we don't compact this

driveway enough, we will have a huge problem. So, I need to make sure that I go around it proper. So, as the Pharaoh boys left for the day, I needed to continue to whack the drive. In total, we compacted this driveway for about 60

minutes. Well, that is all of the whacking done. So, it's now time for the next stage, which we're actually going to install a new fence for Tom right along the perimeter there. But now, it's time for me to tell you about my little

Now, when you're doing your garden or driveway, the best thing that you can do is tidy up your fences. Put in a new fence if possible because it gives it that nice crisp edge. So, that is what we're going to do today. So to install

fence, we need holes for the post to sit in. So we want the post to sit in two foot deep. So it gives the post extra strength. As you can imagine, nothing's easy. And all these holes are full of

concrete. So we got to get the breaker on them and dig them all out. Now, I would love to run this video back, but for one of you watching right now, but for that to happen, I need Arri to be

as for where we was going to be putting the fence, we was digging into foundations, which was becoming seriously hard work. The problem is, if we don't dig deep enough, the whole fence might blow over. So, we need to

make sure that we get it right. Now, the hole is ready for the post. We're going to install it. And to do so, we're going to sit the post into the hole and fill it with water. Once we're happy with the

levels of everything, we're going to add a bag of postcrete. Once we put the postcrete in, we add some more water.

So, we use a pokery stick just to make sure it's all mixed in with that post re and then we let it sat. So, now that our post is fully level, we're just going to leave this 5 minutes before we start

kind of fiddling with the next post cuz what we need to do is we need to sit in the fence panel to get an accurate measurement for the next hole. But we don't want to disturb this post just for

the first 5 minutes. Let all that quick drying post mix set and then we can move on to the next post. So, while that post was setting, we gently put a piece of the fence pal panel in just to mark out

the new hole for the new post. And then Paul decided to pull out his big juicy wheel again. He's got it again. He's got his He's got his wheel out. Now, I've decided to completely surprise Tom with some stunning extreme flex LED or

lighting. So, what we need for Lee is we need a diagram of the perimeter of where the oral lighting is going to go. We'll send that to lady. Works out the cuts where the electrics is going to go. So,

we're going to tell him where the power point is. So, we'll make sure that the leads from the LED is long enough to reach the point where we're going to put it all into the box. Do we have a little

So, I continued to work with Paul to get the correct measurements for the driveway. Then Paul written down in his book, I sent a little video across to Lee so he could work out what we needed.

So now what I'll do, I'll send that to Lee's WhatsApp and then he just works everything out for me. Right, let's get this fence finished now.

Now, this post is fully set level. What we are going to do on this one is we're just going to put the sand straight over it. And the reason being because it's so warm today, if you don't, what happens

is the surface, the surface of the post mix starts to crack and you don't know how deep them cracks go. So, we'll just cover it with a little bit of sand just to take the heat off the surface, let it

dry naturally, and then we can move on to the next stage. But before we can do that, me and Paul now can build this section up, which is pretty easy. I'm going to show you. Now, you start off

with your base plate. Now, nobody wants a wonky fence. So, you need to spend a little bit of time on this just to make sure that it is absolutely level. So, that should be absolutely level now, mate.

And once you're happy with your base plate, you can then add in your bits of composite fencing. These just slot in dead easy. Nice and simple. You'll work your way all the way to the top. Once you're happy with the height of your

fence, you could then add your top. Right. So, what we have done is we've put the bottom plate in with the spacers and we've put some selftappers in to this aluminium post. We've then built all of the composite fencing up. We put

the top bar in the second spacer. Then we've got these nice little lights to put on like so. Now, if they were just on there, someone could just crumb and take them. So, what we are going to do,

we're going to put a little bit of CT1 on the top and then we'll tap it in.

That way they don't come off. And then to work these lights, we've got like a little CW off WW. I'm going to put CW and then we'll just see how it looks later when it's nighttime. Making sure the top's nice and clear because the

solar powered. How cool is that? And now that we've made one fence panel look beautiful, it was time to make the rest of them look the same. And this is just a repeat process of what you've already done. The only important thing is you

really need to make sure that your fence is nice and straight. really successful morning. We have managed to get three bays in. Now, the reason it's took us a little bit longer than we would and kind of hoped really is with this fencing,

you have to make sure that it's literally millimeter perfect. Let me show you what I mean. We want every single gap in the fence to be exactly the same. But it means you have to get every single piece that you cut

millimeter perfect. You literally have no room for maneuver. So, it takes a little bit more fiddling to make sure that it's done. But now it's done. It looks absolutely beautiful. But we do still have a lot of work to do. We've

got to do all down this side and we've got to do all down this side. So, I'm going to show you a little bit of computer trickery in three, two, and just like that, all the fences are installed. What are they? Oh, got a

different top on. It's like magic. Now it is time for the most important part of the whole job. The reason being is this is where you see the first bit of the drive. So we're going to be installing a nice clean edge all the way

down here nice and straight using these KL curbs. So let's crack on with that.

Now to prep for our borders, we just need to top up any low spots with the more of the type 3 MLT. We then add a string line up just to cut out the tarmac at the front. Now, for the mix to

put them all together, we're just using a 3 to1 sander and cement. And then we're also adding in some pearl just to add overall strength. We also mix up the primer adhesive for the bottom of our blocks. Then we are ready to start

layering. Now, because these KL curbs are going to sit in here and they're going to be the first point of contact where Tom's cars hit the driveway, um we're going to add a prime adhesive on the bottom of each block. So, we're just

going to put a little couple of mil thick primer on the end like so. Then, we're going to sit them on to the mix that we've created. And then it's literally just a repeat process. So, show you one more time. So, we get our

block. We use a little bit of primer adhesive on the bottom. Just a couple of mil. Just making sure that you're covering all of the bottom. Then, it'll look like this. Now, these come with a very convenient kind of hole in them

that we're going to sit up against right tight to this one. As tight as we can get it. We're going to hold it up tight.

Then, we're just going to tap that in to the height of that one. And now that that second block is in, we need to run a string line from that block over there to this block just to make sure our

curbs are absolutely perfectly level. Now that the string line is nice and flush, we're level. We know where we're putting our blocks into. It's time to crack on. Now, as I started to install the KL blocks at the front of the

Now, back to the important bit, getting these sets in. Now, it's a lot quieter.

Now, the most difficult things with these granite sets is they're all irregular, which means if you have a look here, these bits are low, bits are high. And as a kind of landscaper, you need to try and find the perfect balance

between each one. But essentially, all we do is we make sure we've got prime adhesive on the bottom. We're making sure we're putting it a good bit of compost, which is sand and cement. We're making sure that they're compacted in

Now, us installing blocks is not very exciting if I'm being honest with you. So, we're going to show you them done in three, two, and just like that, all the blocks are in. Right around the perimeter, we have got a full granite

stone edging. Now, that is done, it's time for the important bit. But I need two hands for that. So, I'm going to do something pretty cool. It's now time for my favorite bit. That was a cool transition, wasn't it? Now you will see

love it to just go all the way through, it never does. It always gets caught on something. So, I'm going to do a little technique that I've learned from many electricians that I've worked with.

Basically, what I'm going to do is I'm going to feed this string line down the hole. I'm going to create a little ball.

Go and turn the hub on over there. It should technically pull it all the way through. Pretty cool trick, guys.

Three two one catch. What a catch. Now put them two bits of tape around the ends of both cables.

protected. The reason you want to protect your barrel is you don't want resin to come on the barrel and then it becomes dead heavy and then eventually you just can't use your barrel. Once they're happy, they tip it into their
