Speaker A
3, 2, 1. Wanted to break into some MC in there, but then I realized it would be too embarrassing. This is Lucast, Loose Cast, live from Newcastle's infamous Big Market. To my right is Dean Saunders, to my left it's Anthony Heurn and Fix SL.
Speaker A
And we're joined today by MC Stomping, Newcastle Northeast legend. Sir, how are you doing?
Speaker A
I'm good, how you doing?
Speaker A
All right, we are exceptional, very excited to have you on. I'm H. I'm really looking forward to this one. This phone has been pinging all day with me buzzing with this one, like absolutely crap.
Speaker A
So how did you become a Newcastle MC?
Speaker A
Well, I didn't become a Newcastle MC at first. What happened was, I would say I was 13, 14. My brother started... I've got, I did have two brothers. I lost my brother this year, but we're not going to get into that, right? But I had two older brothers. My oldest brother Mick started, he started G with his me. He's six years older than me and started G, started G to Reves.
Speaker A
I think the Forest Hall Club had the rare tunes on that got him, you know. I started interested in it. And then Rock Shots, even though it was a gear ball, had an R night on the Friday which had the MCs, MC Kicks, MC Buzz, all the DJs. He started G there. So I think I was 13. He started like taking us with him.
Speaker A
And then I just remember the first R I went to was in PR, was called Folies, and it was like a big warehouse, right? And I just remember going in and just thinking, wow, this is like absolutely unbelievable, you know. And I just got addicted to it.
Speaker A
So there was like a big ganga from GED and I was like, I was 13 just going on 140. We started going to all the different waves. There was the Tunnel in Shields that was on like 2:00.
Speaker A
There was obviously Folies. This was like different weeks, not obviously, you know.
Speaker A
Obviously Rock Shots on the Friday, that was Chu out every single week, absolutely bouncing in there.
Speaker A
Then branched out and had one on, what was it called, the Energy House, which was an all-nighter, right? The after one, which was an all-nighter, which was in Sunland, right?
Speaker A
So anyway, was gone to the movie week every single week, we gone. And then we heard about this club called Spore, called The Venue, and it was on 12 to 12, but we started again, it was like 10, it actually changed till 10 till 10.
Speaker A
So I got in, walking in, and you appear to get in, you couldn't see the club, right? So you queue to get in, and then you walked through the doors, and then you just walked in. There was like two dance floors, balconies all the way around, people.
Speaker A
There was like 2,000 people in there every week. But the MC, you had to look for him because he would walk around with a cordless mic, and he just looked cool as [expletive], right? I mean, like he just walked like a rock star, you know.
Speaker A
And I'm like, wow, that's that. I'm going to do that. I'm just kind of [expletive] do it. Like, didn't, not how, didn't never MC before in my life, do you know what I mean? So didn't tell anybody, just, uh, I think I was still 14.
Speaker A
So after that, I went and started practicing in my bedroom, just, uh, didn't tell anybody. And I thought, how am I going to become an MC here? And at the time, GForce was number one. He was the resident at the after do, but he used to take guest spots all hour. He even done a massive one called the Galactica, um, on a racecourse in Ripon, right?
Speaker A
Where like the top DJs, you know, like Joy Bel and all that. So anyway, I thought, how am I going to do this? Yeah, because everybody used to copy off him, right?
Speaker A
So there was no, like, anybody coming through because everybody copied off him. And so I thought, right, the MC is not a copy off him and try and get a different style, do you know what I mean?
Speaker A
So I used to just make little RS and then added them. So anyway, started, uh, started like thinking I was good enough, went to The Venue this night.
Speaker A
How old are you now?
Speaker A
Just turned 15.
Speaker A
So you thought you were good enough, 15? Love, boom, love that. Actually, it was actually just before I had turned 15, yes.
Speaker A
So, um, went to The Venue, right? It was 7 o'clock in the morning. Techno T was on, but he wasn't resident. He had just, at about between 6, 6 and 7, the open comers would get a go, right?
Speaker A
So Techno at the time, he was T. He's a tattooist, right? He had tattoos on his face. He's actually got that one removed. Had a big Dr. Martens boot on his face, tattoos on his head, all his M on his face, all big tattoo, big boot, boot on his face.
Speaker A
Uh, sorry, throwback from a previous episode. I still haven't returned them. You said that I will return, I promise. That's a polite reminder that I need to return them.
Speaker A
So he was on. I went and he, his mic skin heat and while jump run next to him and I, I'm going to take my chance. I went, yeah, 'cause go that make, I'm an MC. And he went, oh, are you late? I went, I...
Speaker A
He went, so are you late? I went, MC Stom. And he, he just laughed and he went, look, I'm not resident, he says, but I've got my own, um, my own night going on in Consett, County Durham. He said if you come up next week, I'll give you a shot.
Speaker A
So I thought, all right, [expletive], let's go B Stach, you know. So thought about it, went to school and all that.
Speaker A
Uh, and then I went up on the bus by myself from GED, right? Like 14, 15 year old, talk with [expletive] five words to get the crossy lines. I keep asking the driver, yeah, five hours.
Speaker A
So anyway, gone up and seen Tech. I went, my up last week. And he went, oh, he says, look, there's a mate. It was literally a ball with about two people in.
Speaker A
And, uh, but I wasn't bad, do you know what I mean? So I went on and, uh, he started that on every week. So I started like learning my trade, you know.
Speaker A
I get in the feel far, 'cause a lot of MCs thinking when they first start, they kind of actually used the mic properly, do you know? I was the same, but I learned in a ball with like two people led, you know what I mean?
Speaker A
So anyway, fast forward about a couple of months, right? So I'm still going ales, right? So went to the after one, this in a there NC on and, uh, so I got to the pl, I works.
Speaker A
There it was 4, 5 o'clock in the morning. I went, yeah, where the MCs? I sent them home, say there, what for? There's name make, right? No [expletive] joking, aren't you?
Speaker A
So I gone up, I sits on the stage. The stage was these boxes like all put together, you know, like, um, what him lastics would like the same size, right? But was with six of them put together.
Speaker A
So gone and sits on the, he sits on the box, looks do, there's the mic in between the two boxes, pick it up, right? Clocks a make the it, it in 112, mic check one two, clean up, we go.
Speaker A
Uh, MC for about 35 minutes, 40 minutes, rocked, did as well, right? 14, 15, get in buzzing.
Speaker A
Um, next week the sound technician come up and went, yeah, MC Stom. I went, oh, I W. He went, yeah, well done young and give us the tip. I like, oh yeah, couldn't we get to him, hi it in and H.
Speaker A
That was me of the week before, it was good. Started passing that tap runs, do you know what I mean? Start getting on five minutes here, five minutes there.
Speaker A
And then, uh, this need got to The Venue. So at The Venue was, I said before, was like between, would have six, six and half seven, the open comers would have a good ride.
Speaker A
Started getting like 5, 10 minutes because Techno getting his residency, so he would give us a little go. This DJ Charlie comes on, he says, yeah, young and that was [expletive] great.
Speaker A
That he says, how come Adam now you working here? I says, oh, I'm not. And he went right, he says, yeah, come with me. Took us in the DJ box, says, yeah, see I sitting there, you know, everybody's wrecking all L, everybody's like behind the DJ.
Speaker A
MC and DJ says, see this L? Yeah, this young. They went, oh, I see. Well, next week he's on with me, he says. I'm going to tap it. He said, I don't want anybody going out of him 'cause he's a young trying to take a mic off him.
Speaker A
And that he says, he's on with me. Oh, right, Charlie, I B. So he comes out the door and he says, look, you, I get w ass in. I kind of get you in. He said, well, you come next week, you're home with me for the full set, all right?
Speaker A
And I went, all right, CH. Go to school the next week and all that. It's new, but it, right? So I was, I was nervous, but I was buzzing, you know.
Speaker A
So next week comes. I think you tell all your pals to come. Did you like, and were any of your other PES tr...
Speaker A
the store I find it when people say like things happen for a reason and like that might not be in there then you finding it like the most like it's unbelievable so so you obviously you said when you
Speaker A
when you were doing it all your friends you and they were supportive but your parents didn't know at the time well no no well what happened was is I see I had two brothers but living in a GED family
Speaker A
if I had have said oh MC you what what you talking about shut up man you know and I would have just getting you know they would have just have me life for it so uh I didn't tell them the story about
Speaker A
that is once I got me residency right I brought the teer back and I see I got them downstairs and I went to cuz I had high five back in the day high five so I went put the when I went what do you
Speaker A
think what do you think that MC oh I's good I I say that's me shut up man look that's me and I say look next week I say like I'll get you I'll well I'll get one of his
Speaker A
in not going to take the piss the stra so and then they did they come down and they couldn't believe it like no that's class that's a class where did the name come from where did stomping come from I like that type of music not
Speaker A
like a bouncy fast like stomp in Music Plus like one of the first rounds I made was the St p right so like I was as I said said before I was just I want I wanted a different style from the style
Speaker A
that was massive at the time which was like J force you know what I mean and obviously that many people were copying of him back in the day it was Unreal so that was the CRA the name like were you
Speaker A
did you have the name before anyone asked you what the name was or did you like or when they asked you what your name was you were like oh I need to come up with a name now I've done that I
Speaker A
first started practicing I came up with it do you know what I mean I wasn't actually first on it at the start um cuz nobody like really had a name like that but um as I say I started making Rhymes
Speaker A
up with it and stuff like that and the M thing is yeah L there's like a lot of names that are like similar like uh somebody was called bouncing rocking and jumping and all that type of stuff you
Speaker A
know what I mean so um I you're a trend Setter that's what we're saying no honestly like that story is incredible I love that those those events that you were going to when you were 14 were they all age events like were they all age ra
Speaker A
six foot when I was like six foot when I was like 13 like honestly so they weren't all age events you were very much s who I was going to say cuz we talked when Tazo came in and
Speaker A
we had a bit of crap with him and he was saying again like back in the day it was so different than what it is now isn't it so I guess like when it was like you couldn't you couldn't get in a club now
Speaker A
at what 14 I don't but it's different now because it was private dance members Club was no alcohol he was explaining that done it and again it it just mindblowing to think what what it is now to like that that scene must have been
Speaker A
absolutely insane at the time it was like in the '90s and it was all night so you went from the venue and then I got I suppose it was class's head hunted uh for the Coliseum I actually went and
Speaker A
then thought no no I like the venue better sort of thing and there was some happen and I thought oh not you know atmosphere wasn't as good and I went back but then I got asked to date again
Speaker A
and then take with people you didn't really knock back twice you know what I mean let's just say there was you know it was yes um but then the M thing was it got burned in two weeks later I went
Speaker A
back the second time two weeks later the venue was burnt in so if I hadn't said yes that would have probably been that would have probably been it cuz the Coliseum was like I mean it was Unreal a
Speaker A
Coliseum as well but the music down there was a lot harder I mean if you listen to some of the TF Snow on YouTube uh you can still listen to them now and think hey that's that's great you know
Speaker A
so a a lot of the people obviously in them circles when you were first starting you still PS with them all now or still see many people or has everyone moved away and still well um are you talking about the people used to come
Speaker A
with us like back in the DJ MC DJ MC many of them still around well not really they're having reunions I'm daing it um Coliseum reunion in a couple of weeks they you know there is a few that
Speaker A
lasted the distance Technic T still gone Jet and all I mean a lot of the DJs are still gone but um the ones from the actual venue there's only I don't think there's many actually um for but then
Speaker A
again because I was a B I mean I was literally a kid that's how I'm still you're almost getting an illegal head style I mean when you think about that was like 31 year it's absolutely mindblowing to me that's it's 31 year
Speaker A
but but then I think that was 31 years ago and then to talk about obviously so this is only the second time we've met isn't it obvious first night we met was obviously again unfortunately the loosefest weekend but fortunately you
Speaker A
were able to put something un incredible in digital and I guess saying that 31 years later the reaction that you got in digital that night obviously yourself Tazo Shack insane you know it was devastating that day for everybody but
Speaker A
what happened was I mean we were ready to G at 12:00 and then we get to tell that it was cancelled so our rings tazu and he didn't even say hello he just went believe it me kind believe it do
Speaker A
you know what I mean but then we get to phone call off shock to say um right we're going to do digital anybody's getting peed we just going to go do it because obviously you know we're with the circumstances and all that but I
Speaker A
think everybody knows that like were me and hoggy me and Tazo were going to come out to Patrick Topp and Ben Helms and shock and it was going to be like what 8,000 people it was going to be mind
Speaker A
blowing is amazing as digital was it still cuts that that couldn't happen but you know H he are the meant to make it happen aren't you really you know so no pressure for next year no pressure like uh but no no um so that's what I was
Speaker A
going to ask you was that the first time you had seen us live in a club I know you had heard with but was that the first time you had seen like atmosph and stuff like that yeah so obviously I
Speaker A
think we touched on it a little bit before I was did what do we call myself I was I a bad CH a bad CH was I cuz I had my friend Perry I had me bur house I
Speaker A
didn't have the rock P that's why I was a bad child because I had me I had me Fred Perry me Burg I was me trackies you smoked tabs but I didn't smoke tabs I've never smok a cigarette still and I
Speaker A
didn't I didn't drink at the time either and didn't have a fight but I could MC as well not any as much as the expert but I thought I could MC sorry so I was like a bit of a bad chave but I um I
Speaker A
obviously did have the decks and I and I had me new monkey CDs and I loved it all but I never actually went to see anyone so so although I loved the music I never actually experienced it what was what
Speaker A
was the clubs that were out when you were young what when I was doing all that or when I was listening to all that I was like I was too young for clubs probably and like I was saying I think when I was
Speaker A
that age 14 15 we didn't go into any nightclubs I think the first time I went into a nightclub would would have been when I was 16 plus and everyone used to go Sunland way first and then obviously
Speaker A
when you turned 18 you started going to Newcastle or at least where I was from Chesley Street like you went Sunland when you were underage and then Newcastle when you turned 18 but there so there was no like clubs I mean I
Speaker A
think I done a what was it crocodil is it crocodillos or something Street Crocs Crocs yeah yeah Crocs Crocs um so they do like Thea yeah they do like the the runer age parties where there was not a
Speaker A
drop of alcohol and everyone just came and danced to Rihanna or whatever it was at the time we never we never had the cool stuff like yourself coming over for when we were going H going out at that
Speaker A
age I mean probably the best thing that I could have gone to was Bara I think everyone used to do but that was again just it was new hle so we never went as that that's where everyone went Baja for
Speaker A
for me I think it was obviously I remember rock Shots being the big one planet Earth planet Earth planet Earth it the building I live in the build they used to do like Yas events there and that so like like yund under 16s I think
Speaker A
it was or something back then so I remember all then but then for me cuz I'm from Denton originally Denton Village and like obviously there was like Forest Hall club and I think even like now I think like there somewhere
Speaker A
there's somewhere else near there that's doing it even even to this day like is it didn't I'm sure done somewhere up there like somebody had had us on up there but it wasn't like a proper Club it was like Community Center some it was
Speaker A
a village hall was was him at the front it was a kid called Alex that used to go to school with him done that remember cuz like it was on for about [ __ ] an hour and then he just got shut down straight away
Speaker A
cuz just BS everywhere like didn't know i' seen that many people in it before so it was remember that was but as much as I did used to listen to we never had that option to go anywhere like I say so
Speaker A
again and then as as I got a bit older and obviously got into the the club nights and stuff it wasn't the route we went down but then obviously that night at a digital seeing yourself live for the first time and obviously that the
Speaker A
performance you put on was absolutely incredible it was a good it was it was one of them where um I'm going to put it out there by the way I've never seen digital like that before that you absolutely it it was one of them where
Speaker A
like it was just everybody was for it you know it was a crush situation where you really had to like uh me and my last had to like proper pull each other through because it was that busy you
Speaker A
know but the atmosphere was Unreal so bringing it like right up to date minut we'll go back again a little bit but bringing it right up to date where would be you know we just touched on digital where would be one or some of your
Speaker A
favorite venues to MC now like as in really current open now well I've done um I've done re to the G with Scotty J last two weeks ago and it was absolutely choing that was in the point but I think
Speaker A
the point's just been done out something and it it was Heaven you know um are they um are they digital still for like hysteria and all that then I've got a it is really good in there you know um cuz
Speaker A
what makes it what makes a venue good do you still do like radio mic or do you like what makes a venue good to M depends on what the club is you can't really do the radio mic anymore um
Speaker A
because in the venue it was how how how the could the video m is the the way the club was setled like now they have like a stage where you know you just a little bit back from the
Speaker A
from the actual crowd itself whereas in the venue you could actually walk around you could gone down the stairs on the balconies on the dance and all that and it was just the norm but you kind of do
Speaker A
that now you know for anyone listening or watching who doesn't know that can you explain a radio mic so radio mic would just not be connected yeah cordless mic so essentially a Bluetooth microphone and you would have to look
Speaker A
for the at the bottom to find to find the MC and so what would make what would make a good venue for you to MC in do you know what I mean if you were to design your perfect venue to MC in would you want to
Speaker A
be like do you want a big DJ Bo do you want to be high up do you want to be in the corner do you want to be like Flor level does bother me it's um you know the different ones I've I've done them
Speaker A
all really over the years you know I do like being like up above uh the monkey used to be up above and lock down that was meant because you could you could see the crowd at a certain part and
Speaker A
would just be bouncing you know in I that that was good but the venue was good when you walked around the colise was good being a stage the digital they've all got their own uh good points but some of them have got their bad
Speaker A
points where they're too close to the crowd um and on the same level so you know people can grab you and stuff like that do you know what I mean but um I mean usually the crowd absolutely me so
Speaker A
um you know they don't normally do that I mean that's for shs but only on the phon and there's only a few who would probably grab you you know what I mean and I was going to say how different is
Speaker A
it nowadays with everyone how they are on the phones and stuff with social media I'm record is do you en enjoy it more now of all the footage or you prefer it back in the day when people didn't have the phones out or um used to
Speaker A
make signs backu in the de right signs up uh but note like like it is new um I today the old uh this is not radio one and all that and after do like there's a there's a thing on the after do I went
Speaker A
no shouts for a while this is not radio one and um a lot of people like think to that you know like clicked to that and they reminded us of it over the years you know but um no it's it's just part
Speaker A
of the you know it's part of the game obviously you put a few out you kind of put the on AR cuz then the audio is going to sound shade absolutely crap just like shout AR the Mad thing is Rock
Speaker A
shot used to be like that MC buz used to put I would say 80% of his set was shouts but because the MC was new um it didn't matter cuz atmosphere was just absolutely banging plus the MC's that
Speaker A
were on before him didn't used to really do that but MC was did so I suppose it's you know Different Strokes or different fls is it really if you could have one night again in the venue and with the
Speaker A
same atmosphere that you had back in the day which venue would it be which of those old like ones that are no that are no longer with us anymore the best one no my favorite Club of all time was the
Speaker A
venue right but the best atmosphere not not best atmosphere but I've seen all Sonic live at the Coliseum right and I was on the stage at the side watching them and he is absolutely unbelievable Right Live you know you honest what's
Speaker A
his name again M Ali absolutely in his voice you know he's the guy that was the vocalist for public domain yeah I know I know him I really well well he is just some vo like his voice is just but he
Speaker A
done this thing where he had these um what you call them flood lights like like similar to flood lights and he see right they want to see the crowd and he put these Ro lights and then everybody was just on each other shoulders later
Speaker A
and then uh I think he he kicked him on one of his tun in the place just shook and I've never I've never seen nothing like it in the Coliseum and absolutely just unbelievable do you know what I
Speaker A
mean um has he got you up to do any of his are they not they called 1994 the nights that he does up in Scotland I'm not in touch with them I mean well I'm going to send him this clip and I'm
Speaker A
going to make sh a books yeah I've met him a few times I um I've done um uh well they're actually on at the one I'm daing in a couple of weeks in the Coliseum reunion not on again um
Speaker A
I've met them a couple of times are they on doing that one oh nice one what we say boys we tempt could definitely genuinely would go defitely we agree with that yeah I'm you I'm in we're coming getting back for the for the
Speaker A
reion but you know I'm going to purchase some rock parts now as well it's not as easy as you think you know you can't get really you can't get rock PS can you I don't think like my my
Speaker A
my favorite pair of rock pots I used to have at like in school so comfortable man waterproof oh incredible bits of Footwear the reflective ones I don't think I did I think I can remember they were sort of like like a dull brown but
Speaker A
they had like trim on them and everything I was like when I got them I was so buzzing like I think they would probably be about maybe correct this if I'm wrong put in the comments I think they were about 150 quid at the time but
Speaker A
they felt like they were 10 grand like they were the most expensive thing I had I was like you've got rock pots or a house which one do you want to own like maybe that's why I didn't that
Speaker A
maybe I went over budget with the burg house house bir house I never had a birg house couldn't couldn't afford the birg house but I made sure I got the rock ports I'm sh do you know what I actually think
Speaker A
I'll be able to find that Burg out still you know I think it's in me uh me Loft my mom and dad you can wear it to the Coliseum I mean I don't know if it'll fit as it I'll do it I'll do it I remember
Speaker A
there was like um what was that one what was the the make of um Jack it it had like the porw on it and it had like the three bits on the Paw do you know what I mean no and it was like you You' know it
Speaker A
for told you was all like Henry L my ear was you'll know it in this poor girl had been like the factory outlet shop or something and the badge was like upside down and she got mercilessly bullied let
Speaker A
school like it was absolutely horrible but so you after all these years in the game are you still writing new Rhymes are you practicing at home like are you just pulling out old stuff and repackaging it are you like making stuff
Speaker A
off on the on the Fly it's just making stuff up off on the on the nights I never have done ever like wrote a r in me life it's just I I I can't it's not that I can't write RS right it's just
Speaker A
I've never actually tried what with me if like when we RS I'll I'll be at work B don't me mind and I'll just like just go I on on me head and um I I'll just like go now it now it you know I like in
Speaker A
my own little world and then uh and then I'll come up with it especially if I've got a gig that weekend you know what I mean and I like I'll try it and it just comes it's it's like I'll not know what
Speaker A
I'm going to see until I go on and see like my check 112 and then the DJ plays a tune and then whatever tune that is it gets you it gets you adrenaline pumping and then it just like bang top of your
Speaker A
head the more I think about it when I'm on the make the [ __ ] of it is I want to think about nothing when I'm on the make like it's hard to explain because that's when I'm in the zone once I'm in the
Speaker A
zone I don't think not it just comes out bang bang bang do you know what I mean and then is long as a dayj is like um giving it some you know which 99 times 100 the all was all um it's it just
Speaker A
comes off the top of me head so but I think that's because of the experience 31 yeah you know what I mean it's like most of me life I've been I'm saying now that again I think that's incredible 31
Speaker A
year not slowing down anytime soon well not well it's it's see back in the day right I used to do um Thursday I used to do like a 2 o00 and then on the Friday I used to do a place called Reds and
Speaker A
Bishop and then I used to go do the um what was it hysteria which was just run the corner from um the venue in spinning as well H and then on the satday I would the club loes to two and then I gone up
Speaker A
the venue right and then we would gone across the road to the B 10:00 when that finished and then we G to somebody's s and then I gone home gone to sleep and gone to work on the Monday and I would
Speaker A
dat it all over again now I do a set and I I didn't stay I just they me set love it when I'm on the mic but then I'll go home do you know what I mean h because
Speaker A
obviously getting over now so I mean I couldn't know we could I day what I used to do you know it's a young man's it's a young man's game all the partying and all that but uh I still think you've got
Speaker A
to experience that when you're young going through all that type of stuff but now it's the Performing it's the being on stage it's the being on with different DJs that that H does it for me still so de likes Eminem sort of um hey
Speaker A
sorry we're going to do a UFC reaction podcast we'll also have to do an Eminem album reaction podcast you got a new album a question has a question Eminem I KN that you loved Eminem right do you prefer old Eminem martial matters LP is
Speaker A
my alltime favorite right all this fast stuff that he's doing cuz I mean it's unbelievable the fast stuff but like for me like his old yeah do you know what I prefer his old stuff but his latest album so not new new album because it
Speaker A
was it was 2020 and the I think it was the beginning of 2020 and then he brought the side B out the end of 2020 um so it was music that be murdered by side a and side B ask that's his best album oh d
Speaker A
yeah but but other than that I prefer his older stuff but that latest Alma think's absolutely brilliant cuz I love just listening to him and like every time you listen I you always pick something else up cuz he's got like so
Speaker A
many double triple and Tundras AR he like you always pick stuff up so I mean the God you know Godzilla that he does yeah not a massive fan of Godzilla I like Rap God that he did and he I I
Speaker A
could nail the fast bitting Rap God and I was really proud of that I bet you could absolutely do that and be like that was meing do it now can I do the fast fit of just ask you I could do it
Speaker A
after the you do it will you do it if stomping ask I kind of D no I mean if he does it he won't do it if I ask him but if you ask him he can't say no so I'm
Speaker A
going to do the fast bit of rap God in front of MC stman yeah let's go then let's do it I can't believe I'm doing this I'm the I'm go go how does he do it he goes Uh sama do Lama you wish human
Speaker A
I'm human what I got to do to get it through I'm super human inovative and made rub so anything and say he ricochetting off of me it glue to you devastating never [ __ ] you doing the wor thing is can actually do it the
Speaker A
the Press sweating me so so when we come to Coliseum give him the mic for 30 seconds and he's going to drop that oh that's that's definitely that that's 100% like you talking about Eminem but like you when I was like a Ben we used
Speaker A
to get with hookie taped on the key side and like when you seen with the high fives that before we would be like we M house in the weekend and like would be arguing whether people listen to the
Speaker A
monkey or like the after do or listen to like Dr Dre so that conversation happens mental cuz I mean I was going to say before as well like 31 years obviously you say you've been in the game for now
Speaker A
without putting like a pedest on whatever do you find it mad that literally for like 31 I mean especially since I was a Ben like you've been regarded as like the number one MC in re like do you you still have you ever felt
Speaker A
that's been the case for you have you old when I was young right like when I was young I used to I used to see that you know just cuz I was [ __ ] young and Daft and like you know but now I
Speaker A
didn't do that many but when I day I try and put on a sh and I didn't say that about myself anymore you know what I mean um and if other people want to say that's fair enough but um I think
Speaker A
there's a few of were didn't regard me but I think if you're an MC you've got to think like you're the best because if you didn't you shouldn't be mcing you know what I mean you have got to believe
Speaker A
that you're the man when you get on that make do you know I respect each and every person who picks up a m or gun on the decks or whatever and performs in front of people cuz it takes balls you
Speaker A
know yeah um but I believe that you've got to believe that you're the best otherwise what you doing in the game you know yeah um I I've been asked that question a couple of times and um you know I appreciate all the support that I
Speaker A
get and I really day because I did get a lot I think with me as well though I didn't do that many um and I'm not like I'm not on social media and all that so I think if I'm on a fly if I'm headlined
Speaker A
somewhere people say oh stom on such and such we can't see there because you kind of get to see me every week so sometimes less is more if that makes sense yeah so uh massively in a way because you
Speaker A
preceded social media you're almost you are almost in a way better off not being on it like it it still perpetuates the myth and the legend do you know what I mean yes I um the thing is that's why I
Speaker A
didn't do I think I've done one podcast before this is only the second one that I've done because of that as well it's like uh um you know it's not that I didn't think people are like as I like
Speaker A
that it's just me I'm more G on Mak in performing that's that's my buzz that's what I Buzz of you know that's why like if people ask me why am I still MC and it's because like I still buzz off it
Speaker A
yeah for well you're already part of the team now you're already Bo for you have C reaction video an Eminem new album reaction video and I'm just going to add when I have practice and I come back and do Rap God
Speaker A
I'm embarrassed you got to say the full song though I didn't even finish the whole verse did I I mess that up I'm what was your question we'll bring the decks as well if if you didn't exist who's number
Speaker A
one there's a few of them there's as I've just said there there's there's a few who so give us a couple of your top like rated of all time maybe a couple of newcomers but who's who's on your raadar
Speaker A
as being you know what I mean Stand Out On's in the Northeast right now thing is I don't want to Huff anybody that's the thing because when you get put on the spot you you've obviously got your tazos your impulse scottty G um
Speaker A
stretches doing big things um I am missing somebody out there is there like still is there still like a massive thing of like people coming through the scene as well the young ones are coming through um somebody I'm missing out there and I
Speaker A
know what would uh but all in in its different styles as well which I like see when I first came in see the thing at the minute which I'm not too fussed on but the young and see love it is
Speaker A
they're putting back to backs on constantly you know what I mean where is me I like being on by myself I just like one DJ me and then I like to see another MC with the one DJ you know what I mean
Speaker A
see that when when I came in you had to prove yourself you had to and then there was like I was class as a young and that was like I was fast and you know what I mean I was classed as a young and then
Speaker A
you had like uh gForce who had his style you had a techn who was different MC R who was absolutely just you know his style was a tick tock noises and scratching with his voice everybody was different so for the full neat of an all
Speaker A
nighter uh you had you had difference and people were like oh such and such as on a 2:00 meant such and such as on but new it's like it's two MC's on three at one time and all that and you know
Speaker A
suppose that's what the on are like so you've seen a bit of Dean's handiwork I'm mildly dyslexic but if we wanted to start an MC career from scratch leaving this studio mhm and if anyone's watching checking you out what advice would you
Speaker A
give to someone who's thinking I fancy being a rave MC be original be different than what's out there that's how I done it just be totally different than don't copy off anybody have your own stuff try and get your own style um I think it's
Speaker A
different though because it's all internet you know what I mean like um I suppose making videos know then they send them in but from I just think be your own style believe in yourself and um if you want something bad enough
Speaker A
you'll get it I totally believe that like love that and run AI helps either does it I'm surprised people haven't done an AI one yet I've seen a couple of those I've seen a couple I saw someone someone get like they just typed in
Speaker A
write me a new Kanye West song with AI and they did it and it's it's Inc right we've got a little bit of loose advice going to read it out it's just Daft it's now serious but he's going to ask the
Speaker A
question you can give some advice we can give some advice as well I'm going to play a little jingle and then we'll [Music] crack don't take it to H so lose advice this week the question is I'm just about
Speaker A
to turn 18 and I'm going to go to my first Rave where should I go and what should I do to prepare myself for the event oo where shall you go well where could they go and see you soon I think
Speaker A
would be a goodia uh I'm on at the Coliseum reunion and I'm on at hisia back to back with Lex Le RX Le r that was one I was there go you knew knew was to come um that's that's what I was
Speaker A
forgetting I'm on back to back with him um at hysteria at Digi in a couple of weeks nice how to prepare um D get fixed ideas of what it's going to be like just G with an open mind and enjoy it going we meet
Speaker A
have a laugh just um and make sure you're there look at the lineup and who you want to see you know what I mean and then go and just uh just enjoy it you know didn't like because a lot of people
Speaker A
think Reeves oh it's going to be trouble it's you know it's full of drugs full of this that and the other just didn't have one of them didn't perceive it to be like that a small mindset before you go
Speaker A
Dean what would be your advice where you going someone's going for the first drave where should they go and what should they do to prepare well as as we've been talking a lot about hangovers recently so I'm going to drink a lot of water drink a
Speaker A
lot of water drink a lot of water drink a lot of water beforehand so I don't want get too rough the next day but I think H I think like you say just you get in the mood don't you you'll have
Speaker A
some you'll be listening to some stomping beforehand getting excited excited throw a bit of memem in as well five five tracks from stomt one from Eminem just the the old stuff though not the new stuff that's it that's it h but I think like you go and
Speaker A
you you listen to the music beforehand so you're getting in the mood for it and like you said just go with your mates and just don't don't think too much about it just where they going to go where you going to recommend them to go
Speaker A
well we're we're going in a couple of weeks which is the colise honestly I'm deadly serious about that by the way I thought you were going to recommend face M them I couldn't have set him up more for some promo bage you
Speaker A
know what I mean hold on we're setting that up then face matter then face there we go as well what's the future face matter date you got H so December 8th is just being announced with the with the
Speaker A
guys that I mentioned before in digital yeah um so that that's a good one obviously just done one in Liverpool uh when will this go out so have been a couple of Fridays ago when this goes out uh super successful the guys absolutely
Speaker A
smashed it but the one in the one in a digital on the 8th of December is going to be an absolute massive one H hopefully we have a nice surprise of a couple of guests on the Podge before
Speaker A
that uh have you got I mean I don't know if would you have gone to a raave like what would where would you recommend these days going to a rave no idea how would you prepare for a big night out
Speaker A
mate uh pre drink as much as I possibly can and then H just enjoy the living [ __ ] out of it there basically that that would be my advice for any night out me you know what by the way we said it was
Speaker A
fine but I think that's the first swear word we we've had all P isn't it no I think I swore a couple of I missed it but bad we said it was fine I was just I was quite watch just tell us off now i'
Speaker A
I've like been trying really hard not to swear I think our my advice would be choose who you go with I mean I'm thinking back to like my like early Raven days or whatever but think my advice would be pick your crew carefully
Speaker A
do you know what I mean like pick your friends who you go with carefully swerve fail to invite them like gnarly individuals who could cause some issues over the course of the evening so get a good crew if I was
Speaker A
going to recommend going somewhere like I would always recommend going somewhere dark and dingy like I know like big events are always they're the flavor of the moment now Warehouse project drum sheds whatever I love a tiny little Club
Speaker A
do you know what I mean like I love a tiny little sweat pit 300 rammed in condensation dripping from the ceiling like I love something like that get in there and it feels like I know being in a big event feels like tribalistic in
Speaker A
the sense that you're with 15,000 people but with being with 150 or 200 people feels like you're all literally in one physical body at the same time experience sounds like the first after dark though lat was it was you know what
Speaker A
it was like it was like um underground cor parkk but it had graffiti H all over the Ws and the graffiti they GLW up was Glu and then um you couldn't see the MC would just see silhouette behind them it
Speaker A
atmosphere was so yeah I mean I can't probably name these things now but look out for them little clubs man them little clubs that are doing still doing a little events like vibing Peter Lee or there's there are still these places
Speaker A
that exist funnily enough they don't tend to be in big cities anymore cuz big cities have changed into huge events and things like that but you will have you mentioned loads of places concerts Benmore these places will still have little they
Speaker A
don't have a little Club they'll have a working men's club or a village hall that are putting something on and like go somewhere like that like it will feel like a community it's because the people who put them on have got a passion for
Speaker A
the re still you know and if there's not on them we'll put it on the C so um they'll always be something that soach and obviously with the Internet it's easy to find as well you know love it
Speaker A
right I think we're going to call it have you got anything else for stomp in no just absolutely loved it as as we knew we would and can't wait till we'll get you back on for our reaction videos
Speaker A
thank you very much man appreciate it thank you
