A woman from the children of Israel came to the Prophet Moses and said, "O Prophet of God, I have sinned and I want to repent." He asked her, "What is your sin?" She said, "I committed adultery and killed my child from the adultery." He said, "Go out." He said, "Go out, you wicked woman." So she left with a broken heart. The next day, she came and said, "I want to repent." He said to her, "Go out." Then the revelation came to him, "O Moses, why did you reject the repentance? Do you not know who is worse than her? Do you not know who is worse than her?" Moses said, "An adulterer and a killer. Who is worse than her?" He said to him, "One who abandons prayer deliberately and persistently is worse before God than the adulterer, the killer, the liar, the backbiter, the hypocrite, and the usurer. One who abandons prayer is not to be married, not to be hosted, not to be befriended, not to be eaten with, nor to be accompanied. One who abandons prayer has injustice on his face, injustice in his heart, injustice in his life, and injustice in his home. And whoever turns away from My remembrance, indeed he will have a miserable life and on the Day of Resurrection, he will be blind." He said, "My Lord, why have You brought me blind while I was once seeing?" The reply was, "Thus did Our signs come to you, but you forgot them, and thus today you are forgotten. Thus today you are forgotten." I ask you by God, I ask you by God, O you who do not pray except on Friday, repent to your Lord now!
