Great is your faithfulness. Let's meditate on it before we pray together. If there is one thing that we have always had as a guarantee as Christians, it's the love of the Lord and His mercy.

Those two things have been on offer since the dawn of time, and God has not at any point taken back that offer.

The mercy of the Lord is forever abounding towards us. His mercy is abundant on us, abundant on you.

In fact, scripture says they are new every morning, renewed every morning. And I think it's necessary for us to hear these words.

In fact, it is necessary for us to commit them to memory because for some reason it seems that we humans think that there is a place or threshold we get to where the mercy of God stops working or God just takes it all back.

Guilt itself. Now guilt is the most natural response when we sin against God. When we are not aligned with God, when we go against His word, immediately we are filled with guilt.

For those of us who feel they have committed even greater sins, the weight of that guilt can be heavier.

But do you know guilt is not from God? Do you know that the devil weaponizes guilt in the believer's life every time we hold on to it? Guilt is not of God because what guilt gives is condemnation.

It never offers a way out, and that is never a part of what God teaches in His word.

Instead, what we should feel as believers is conviction. When we do something wrong, we should have such a strong conviction upon our hearts that we are pushed to repentance.

When it becomes guilt, the devil gets a hold of us and begins to convince us of how the Lord will never forgive us, how He can't bear the weight of our sins.

And honestly, I can't even imagine the Holy Spirit ever witnessing that to anyone. Can you just imagine the Lord convincing someone that they are condemned now and can never be forgiven?

It's impossible. That's why we must be aware of the enemy's voice. We also must be aware of the fact that God's mercy will always be greater than any guilt we carry.
