Davis makes some accomplished but needy comedians do stupid things for me. Why? Because I can. I'm a powerful man. Look at me. Thank you.
Speaker A
They have no idea how each other did, but they will soon find out. I should be judging both what they did and how they did it. My word is final. The contestants will definitely respect me. Let's make them.
Speaker A
Now, first, he's wearing a suit because he's both professional and from a different generation to the others.
Speaker A
It's a very smart Frank Skinner, certainly a man who's chosen not to wear a suit and who clearly needs a haircut. Josh Whitaker.
Speaker A
Next up, a woman I once genuinely witnessed calling for her mum because she'd seen a mouse. Rushing Connity Manor was quickly gained a reputation in comedy for being livid all the time. Romesh Rang and Nathan and finally a future Poet Laureate of some massive poet disaster happens. Tim K.
Speaker A
And as always, I am both aided and fluffed by my personal assistant Alex Horn. Do you have a little bit of banter?
Speaker A
Okay. Oh, so thanks. Um, thanks for giving me this opportunity. You're welcome. So, Alex, tell us about the first task.
Speaker A
Okay, well, I think you're tremendous, and as always, the first half is the prize task. Each of the contestants have brought in one of their own possessions for the prize hall, and they're going to be awarded points depending on how impressed you are by them.
Speaker A
Yeah, yes, and tonight you've asked them to bring in their most unusual item, and that's what I'll be scoring this first round on, them, how unusual their unusual item is.
Speaker A
Frank Skinner, what was your unusual item that you decided to donate?
Speaker A
Um, I have brought in a pair of grape scissors, and yes, they have grapes on their shaft. When I first saw them, I thought they were Amorette tweezers, but no. Is anyone in this room ever heard of grape cutters before?
Speaker A
Yeah, it doesn't sound that unusual, Frank.
Speaker A
Uh, Josh, what did you bring in?
Speaker A
I brought in a football signed by the Plymouth Argyle squad that lost in the Division 2 1994 playoff semi-finals.
Speaker A
Did they use invisible ink? I don't know what's happened. It's the most unusual signed football ever. Actually, what did you bring in?
Speaker A
I found us an old Trump poet, and he carves on benches, and I found him sitting next to the bench that he just carved into, and I took a photo. That is, uh, from a trip that Roshan and I had to the seaside recently where I paid for lunch and the petrol.
Speaker A
So interestingly, you would, uh, for lunch? Hey, didn't pay for lunch?
Speaker A
Yeah, I did a little Trump.
Speaker A
[Laughter]
Speaker A
I was gonna put you in last place, but Romesh has just snatched that from you before I even know what he's brought in. What have you brought in?
Speaker A
Uh, I've brought in a snow globe that features my children photoshopped as little centers. It was given to me as a Christmas present for my sister-in-law.
Speaker A
I think we can all agree it's just present in the history.
Speaker A
Uh, I get presented that picture in a snow globe, which has very few of those little granules. You know, the granule, the snow density is poor, like you have to shake it for ages, and it's only floating for about half two seconds maximum. Like, it's awful.
Speaker A
Um, is it scientist? All three of them are signed it?
Speaker A
Okay, yeah, a snow globe isn't an unusual item, but your fury is.
Speaker A
Yeah, but snow globes featuring my three children to this only 250, 300.
Speaker A
Tim Key, what did you bring in?
Speaker A
Reindeer skull.
Speaker A
[Laughter]
Speaker A
And play this game.
Speaker A
Okay, let's not mess around. A clear winner of round one, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Tim Key.
Speaker A
Okay, okay, and ladies and gentlemen, there are all of the unusual prizes where they're up there on the balcony, and the winner of this competition will have to take all of that home.
Speaker A
So let's get these onto the leaderboards.
Speaker A
Okay, so who have you got in second place?
Speaker A
Greg, I've got, um, well, the grape scissors. They're insane.
Speaker A
Okay, and third?
Speaker A
Oh, you know, snow globe.
Speaker A
All right, and so you've got your picture of yourself in fourth?
Speaker A
Yes, of course.
Speaker A
And I will put that last if I could, but the football was so bad.
Speaker A
It's another signed football. You've rubbed off the signatures and put me last. That's hard.
Speaker A
Which all means the scoreboard looks like this. Josh would have come in last place, Tim Key in first place.
Speaker A
[Applause]
Speaker A
What was the next task?
Speaker A
The first task proper. This took place in my lab at my Taskmaster retreat, and for good reason.
Speaker A
[Music]
Speaker A
Put this on first of all. I'll be honest, this feels a bit kinky. I used to be a guy in my village who used to wear one of these.
Speaker A
Is this my task God for looking back at school in science lessons? I really, really need my reading goggles.
Speaker A
In the lab, there was a watermelon. Eat as much watermelon as possible. You have one minute. The time starts when you open the door to the lab.
Speaker A
I'm allergic to watermelon. Frustrating because I just want my dressing room. I love watermelon. I'm a big fan of it, but you know, I'm sure it was going to be ruined by this experience.
Speaker A
About the tone of this show now, you know, uh, there's five comedians being forced to eat as much watermelon as they can while swearing a white boiler suit.
Speaker A
Josh, we're going to show you first. Are you a melon fan?
Speaker A
Um, yeah, you know, four and seven out of ten. It's quite a strange question, isn't it?
Speaker A
Let's have a look at Josh's attempt, bearing in mind the task is to eat as much watermelon as you can in the time allowed.
Speaker A
Well, okay, so I'm worried I'm gonna get in there and there's going to be a watermelon sitting on a table, so I need some kind of carving knife or knife.
Speaker A

Speaker A
I mean, I don't know how you do better than that. I'll show you afterwards if you like.
Speaker A
You know, I was impressed that he used implements, but I didn't think there was much sense of urgency there. I've seen my grandmother eating melon. It seemed a similar sort of post.
Speaker A
I've seen a grandma. You've seen my grandmother eating melon, right?
Speaker A
Yeah, yeah, well, she loves it. You know, you were just nipping. I said I quite like melon. There's the proof I done.
Speaker A
Well, I'll be honest with you, I think you've slowed down the footage. I wouldn't put it past you.
Speaker A
No, you did all right. You ate, uh, in one minute you ate 218 grams of watermelon. That's the equivalent of 10 mice. Can I imagine that? It's pretty good. Good for it.
Speaker A
Just to calm down a little bit, any antagonism between you and I over this issue, it's all scripted.
Speaker A
[Laughter]
Speaker A
Um, see the master Frank Skinner.
Speaker A
Okay, here we go.
Speaker A
[Music]
Speaker A
Not so much to go for banter before we get onto that amazing technique. I mean, there's a lot of ageist references to Frank being the oldest member of the panel.
Speaker A
I want you to have a look at Frank in a white boiler suit because we're of the opinion that he looks 12 years of age.
Speaker A
I can't clear any melon up for you, sir. In fact, such an impressive start.
Speaker A
Yeah, well, I'd forgotten my watermelon scissors. It hadn't occurred to me that it would be a bright idea to get a knife or anything like that. I was just gonna, I was prepared to tangle with it from the off.
Speaker A
My feeling is that Frank probably gobbled a lot more melon than Josh Whitaker.
Speaker A
No, not at all. No, he ate 179 grams. That's the equivalent of nine mice or ten smaller mice, but for less, less, just less.
Speaker A
What? Who's next? Let's see how Connity handled the melon.
Speaker A
Oh, I need a thing. I need some sort of hammer. You can't get a hammer. A knife. Can I go get? Should I go get it?
Speaker A
How is there any of this? You know, 36 seconds rushing. Oh God, bigger one. A bigger one is sure this drawer. Thank you.
Speaker A
Foreign.
Speaker A
I mean, I just grazed it. Oh, I've got so many questions. I guess my first question is you knew before you went into that room that the challenge was to eat as much melon as possible, and yet your reaction to seeing a melon on the table was, oh.
Speaker A
Oh, clever twist, a free prepared melon.
Speaker A
I had to cut a watermelon. I thought this could be like a massive bowl of melon and just keep eating.
Speaker A
How many seconds have passed before Roshan started to eat melon?
Speaker A
54 seconds.
Speaker A
I don't want to be negative, but I have eaten that much melon by walking past the fruit stuff.
Speaker A
How much melon did Roshan come out to eat?
Speaker A
I've put it in Rolos. She had one Rolo, nine grams. Lovely.
Speaker A
And then we're having fun, but this thing is funded by adverts, so we've got to stop for a while.
Speaker A
badly when you siphon you've got to have the exit below the yeah yeah I realized that days later it is probably I don't know you'll be able to tell us but my instincts is probably Frank did it quicker because
Speaker A
Josh does a constant running commentary on how well he's doing yeah I love your interesting you're right Frank in seven minutes and 42 seconds Josh one minute longer eight minutes and 52 seconds uh so roching you're scared of lots of
Speaker A
stuff you're scared of water no let's have a look foreign thanks Alex no what else could I get some more things [Music] kitchen one minute I've got one minute no one is gone I might want to move back guys
Speaker A
I've got a sister I'm thinking with it [Music] I've done about half big lunch didn't I oh my God that's really helpful it's very deep [Music] I think that's it it's a bit left I don't know I'm gonna get it out
Speaker A
how would you get that in bit out it was less than a minute slower than Josh but you didn't empty the bar from the end did I did it well there's about it was a there was some water at the
Speaker A
bottom there was a there was a healthy meniscus I can only imagine what these two animals how they approached this to us uh completely empty this bathtub fastest winds you must not remove the plug tip or damage the bath your time starts
Speaker A
now tip or damage sure can I make a request yeah can I get a towel yeah now yep [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Applause] special Round of Applause for who I presume is the inevitable winner Mr Tim key incredible
Speaker A
incredible passion from both men enjoy yourselves yes good good time you entered the bathtub in two minutes and 50 seconds it's pretty quick it's pretty terrible smash that surely he did Smash It yes he did he emptied the bus stop in two
Speaker A
minutes and 20 seconds so it's very good so nice to have a decisive winner in a round I loved it you really enjoyed it there's one slight issue in that there was a rule saying you're not allowed to
Speaker A
remove the plug and during the passion of Tim we did spot if you just have a look again you can just see the plug but it wasn't in all the time the plug was dislodged I mean that that
Speaker A
knocks him down into stuff it's unfortunate it's unfortunate the thing is if he'd be I didn't know that well you say that I mean we have got footage of you after the um after the event what were you doing here
Speaker A
Tim what's this put some thoughts to that face what's that face saying that's me having completed the task just having a little walk around what do you picked up there Tim picked up sorry I just wondering what you sorry
Speaker A
[Laughter] but you disguised your actions well of course because I because it's cheating and we see how effectively he disguised putting this any date at all I had about whether that was a wink in the previous rounds oh
Speaker A
that was a Winkle right what's the fair thing to do I take him down two places right it's up to you it's up to you shut up why don't you just drop me down by a place no way you've got a you've got to
Speaker A
go roching what do you think took the plug out of the bar and took the plug out the bath and that's enough for you should go into last place yeah [Applause] I went last place yeah you did she did
Speaker A
go last place he should be honorable and to go last place you cheated well do you know what I'm gonna do I'll tell you what I'll do it for you I'm gonna put him in last place judgment done
Speaker A
so the winner of that task is gentlemen we're learning a lot about you today Tim key after the break we have one more task which will be done right here on the stage Tim will you cheat again yep
Speaker A
it's exciting isn't it see you after the break [Applause] [Music] welcome back to Taskmaster where a reindeer skulls still up for grabs Alex what the score so far okay so uh romash is on 17 points uh Frank Skinner

Speaker A
do we need to send someone in for Frank yes he's been very still for a very wow laughs looks a little bit like election night [Applause] he almost made me forgive the crimes of earlier in the episode what an
Speaker A
incredible victory for Mr Tim King to join us Alex you work out how that's affected the final scores please [Music] magnificent performance from the obvious winner of that task Mr Tim key ladies and gentlemen okay so let's find out has romesh lost
Speaker A
the snow globe of his children who's going to win a reindeer skull with a hole in it let's have a look at the final scores Alex here they are oh the tie break I genuinely don't know what happens here
Speaker A
Alex what the hell are we going to do about this there must be a winner we did a tiebreak task when I hid in an area of the task Cottage and they open the task saying find Alex so if we see whether
Speaker A
Frank or romish found me first they will be the overall window so this whole thing is going to be decided on a game of hide and seek I think so yeah that's about right no it's not in here
Speaker A
[Music] I found Alex I got it [Music] one minute hello mate hello there 27.
Speaker A
ramash I imagine you wish you'd uh honed your hiding six kills more when you were a child my parents did lock me away and stuff but in that video clip I felt like I looked like I was moving more
Speaker A
frantically than Frank and he had sort of a chilled out Vibe but yet still destroyed me in terms of the time but you know the tortoise in the hair yeah exactly lovely less less movement more finding yeah but on the plus side but I
Speaker A
don't have that snow globe anymore so so the winner of today's show ladies and gentlemen is Mr Frank Skinner well done that's all for this week I've been the task master and this has been Taskmaster thank you Alex
