People line up just to buy a slice, and millions of people have watched his videos online. So, when Petta asked if I wanted to take the idea one step further, I knew I couldn't say no.
Speaker A
The plan was completely ridiculous. Carry an entire pizza restaurant to an almost impossible location, fire up the oven, and see if complete strangers would actually buy pizza in the middle of nowhere. I had no idea if this would work. I definitely
Speaker A
didn't expect how much money we would make. No way. Today, we're going to find out if you can turn one of the craziest places imaginable into a successful business.
Speaker A
This guy has been going viral on the internet for selling pizza out of his balcony. Now, I'm in Lofoten, and I've heard that he has an even bigger plan. He's going to set up a shop here that's kind of unique, maybe
Speaker A
the most inaccessible restaurant in the world. This is Petta, by the way. So, you already made the pizza dough.
Speaker A
Yeah. It's ready to go. We have the dough here in small zip lock bags, so we can carry them with us, and then we're ready to sell it.
Speaker A
Okay. I think I'm going to be your first customer. Uh, with the pizza dough ready, there was only one thing left to do, get an entire restaurant up a mountain. Climbing up there ourselves would be hard enough, but we also had to carry everything we
Speaker A
needed for the pizza service. That's where we're going. So, that's Svolvær Geita, and that's where Petta is going to make his pizza.
Speaker A
And we've been carrying all this gear. Like, there's gas, there's a pizza oven. And then, look, he even made this sign.
Speaker A
He's sort of selling me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Once we found you, we're going to utilize it.
Speaker A
[laughter] We need to sell some pizza here. You guys want a pizza? Maybe later?
Speaker A
Yeah, yeah. [laughter] So, we just hope that there are actually some climbers up there who want to buy the pizza. Do you think you're actually going to be able to make money off of this?
Speaker A
I hope so, but it depends on the climbers, right? Do you know if it's actually legal?
Speaker A
I think it's a gray area. Like, I don't think the city council of Svalbard ever thought someone would do that. So, they didn't like write a law saying you can't do it.
Speaker A
Okay, so we're going to place this here, then. Yeah. I'm also curious how we're going to get all this stuff up there. One thing is the hike, but actually having to climb and carry all that stuff, and for me,
Speaker A
the hardest part seems to be like setting up everything, balancing it, and actually making pizza up there.
Speaker A
Yeah. I mean, this is your vision, so I guess you have it all mapped out in your head.
Speaker A
And the oven is 500° C, right? Yeah, it's a flamethrower, basically. Woohoo!
Speaker A
This view is crazy. Look at this. So, after carrying all that pizza up the mountain, I figured I should probably log this. I've been using MacroFactor for a while now, and what I like the most
Speaker A
is just how little effort it takes. Instead of having to manually type in every ingredient, I can just take a photo of my meal, and the AI
Speaker A
builds the food log for me. And if it gets something wrong, I can just fix it in seconds. It also has barcode
Speaker A
scanning, recipe importing, and a huge verified food
Speaker A
database. So, pretty much anything I eat is quick to log. For me, it's less about obsessing over numbers, and more about understanding what
Speaker A
I'm actually eating, and making sure that I'm fueling
Speaker A
my training properly. Whether I'm climbing or just filming long days like this, it's nice to have an easy way of keeping track of my nutrition without it becoming stressful.
Speaker A
If you want to try it out for yourself, there's a
Speaker A
free trial through the link in the description. So, what is in there? This is most of the pizza topping, some of the dough, some cutting boards, some water for us.
Speaker A
Yeah, there's also the gas tank in that backpack. This is, yeah, kind of interesting.
Speaker A
[laughter] Oh. How does it feel with the backpack? The beginning crux was a little bit hard but now it should be okay.
Speaker A
Yeah. Yeah, this is probably the heaviest backpack I've ever climbed with. That looked okay.
Speaker A
Yeah. It is very different, though. It's like, yeah. You just get tired in a different way.
Speaker A
All right. So, next backpack. [laughter] This is the actual pizza oven. Okay. With all the equipment finally at the top, it was time to turn this place into an actual pizza restaurant. People were already starting to gather below us.
Speaker A
Now, there's a lot of people on the ground waiting for pizza. And before long, they'd be making their way up here expecting actual pizza. So, now the race was on.
Speaker A
I can't believe we're going to set up a pizza shop up here. We had to set up the oven, get it hot enough to cook, prepare the ingredients, and make sure everything was ready before our first customers
Speaker A
arrived. There, I think there's people coming from that side also, Magnus. Yeah, yeah, this side.
Speaker A
Yeah, so I think we'll have customers from both ways. Now, we need to get the oven started.
Speaker A
Dude, you're losing money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we don't want angry customers, you know? Here, we're going to put our stuff.
Speaker A
You're laughing. [laughter] Why? We have the most important thing. [laughter] Pineapple. We need pineapple on our pizza.
Speaker A
Isn't it something like 50% of people enjoy pineapple on their pizza? Yeah, it's like split in half, so and I'm one of them. I actually think the best pizza in the world is a pepperoni pineapple pizza.
Speaker A
I can't say that on camera, though, because people have very strong opinions about that.
Speaker A
I don't understand how people can have such strong opinions about pineapple on pizza. Then suddenly our first customers arrived. But now the pressure was on. We had to get the oven going fast because more people kept
Speaker A
showing up and we definitely didn't want to lose the crowd before we'd even served our first pizza. How are you guys? Are you ready for pizza? We got the pizza. Oh no, yeah, we don't even climb. We just heard this is the best
Speaker A
pizza. So that's why we came. So where are you guys from? We live in Santa Cruz, California.
Speaker A
Ooh. So you have dough, you have sauce, you have cheese, you have pepperoni and hot honey? Then we're good.
Speaker A
Cool. My god. Monster. Thank you. It's good we found a mountain goat to bring up to the goat.
Speaker A
Okay, here comes the pizza dough. Do you do this as well? Uh, not here, but I don't know if it's strong enough, you know?
Speaker A
Ah, you weren't kidding with making the... Yeah, this is not frozen pizza. This is real, the real... This actually works.
Speaker A
The cheese. It's starting to look good. It's starting to look okay. They're a bit small because that's how we do it in Norway.
Speaker A
2 minutes and it's ready, guys. My friends are big fans of your YouTube page.
Speaker A
Ah, thanks, man. They said they're like, "You're crazy. We don't believe you at all. There's no way Magnus is making you pizza right now." [laughter] Look, there's a huge... We have a problem.
Speaker A
Oh, it smells so good. I don't know if you guys can smell it from here, but it smells really, really good.
Speaker A
Yeah. Woo! And this is the thing about pizza. It's the international love food.
Speaker A
Everyone's happy when they get pizza. You can go anywhere with an oven, anywhere literally,
Speaker A
and make people happy with your pizza. Wow, we're going to... No, it starts to... No, it's not.
Speaker A
I don't know. It might get a little burned. Oh. Careful. It got a little bit burned, yeah.
Speaker A
[laughter] [snorts] All right, this one is free, guys. Yeah, this one... It's the first one.
Speaker A
It's a little bit burned. Wait, it looked nice. I was like, let's give it one more second. It's not the smartest.
Speaker A
Should I deliver it? Yeah. Now I got to do the splits. Um, uh, let's hope I'm flexible enough for this.
Speaker A
There you go. Thank you.
Speaker A
And he does one bite pizza reviews all over the country. You should come here.
Speaker A
Yeah, you should come here. That's This is a rare occasion. Now that I know that I'm flexible enough, it's fine.
Speaker A
There you go. Thank [laughter] you. Thank you. Yeah. Delivery. Right horn to left horn.
Speaker A
All right. That was seriously delicious. It's good? So good. It was a partly because I am very hungry.
Speaker A
I didn't eat breakfast. And that's 4:00. I really love to fold the pizza like that.
Speaker A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like the Italians, they will actually make almost like a kebab out of it. It's two pizzas, so that's we call that four slices.
Speaker A
So it will be uh $24. That's very high-tech. Okay, it goes a bit slow up here.
Speaker A
Theoretical pizzas. Yeah. Yeah, perfect. Well, thank you. So we're first customers. First customers. The view from this place is just spectacular. [music] Svolværyata is one of Norway's most iconic climbing routes, famous for its incredible exposure and views of
Speaker A
Svolvær. But once you make it to the top, there's one thing a lot of people do.
Speaker A
[music] They jump from one horn to the other. I do not recommend anyone else doing this though. The guides told [music] us that they don't want the jump to be promoted because recently there's been a lot of accidents. So if you're ever up there,
Speaker A
please [music] don't jump. All right, should I do the the jump once? The thing is they're not encouraging this at all, the guides here uh because there was an injury of someone [snorts] someone who tried to jump from one to
Speaker A
the other. So now no one else should do this, but I'm going to try for fun. The thing is I might if I fall, your rope is right in the way, so I might pull you down with me.
Speaker A
Uh one two. [music] Woo. Yeah, I can jump the other way, too. Can you?
Speaker A
Really? And I have to catch [laughter] No, I have to catch the Wasn't we we had something about if he falls, I I get [laughter] Well, we'll see.
Speaker A
[laughter] There's some potential customers coming up behind you. Do you guys want some pizza?
Speaker A
Yeah, I'll get two pepperonis. Two pepperoni pizzas? [music] Do you want some pizza now? You can have some. I have one ready for you.
Speaker A
It's ready? Yeah, I have one ready for you. Okay. Here. Here you go, sir. Pepperoni pizza.
Speaker A
Freshly baked. So, how's the pizza? 10 out of 10? This one is getting I'm sorry.
Speaker A
Yeah, this one is just getting super Yeah, I know. This is actually we do this in in my restaurant as well.
Speaker A
So, it's full price. Here you go. Thank you. I think maybe actually seeing looking down the wall after this we can start to make food for us.
Speaker A
Yeah. Uh for Johannes and you if you want more. already But yeah, I know. I I'll gladly have another one.
Speaker A
see you pay. I didn't see you pay for that pizza. [laughter] I thought you just left without paying.
Speaker A
Or did I see something [laughter] Did Did something magical happen? I was going to I was going to say later, you know.
Speaker A
Yeah, yeah. Because this is a business, you know. It doesn't [laughter] help that you that you carried everything up here.
Speaker A
Yeah, so that's why you want me to want to make another one for me.
Speaker A
[laughter] And for Johannes, he's also paying. Poor Poor guy. I'm paying. [laughter] You paying too?
Speaker A
I'm also paying for my pizza. Yeah, I know, but seriously, you need to pay for it.
Speaker A
Yeah. [laughter] Seriously, I will. But uh I I find it kind of funny that you don't eat your own pizza. You don't Yeah, that's uh You have to taste it to make it like when you kind of experimented with the
Speaker A
honey and stuff. I think, you know, at some point you need to taste the sauce the if it's enough salt or something. But at some point your your mind actually gets quite good at imagining if something will be good. So, this is
Speaker A
the salty pepperoni, the sweet and spicy hot honey, and the e-acidity of the tomato. You know you know this will be good. All you thing All you need to regulate is salt.
Speaker A
Right. Okay. The only problem is I'm kind of strapped here. So, if they just move and don't pay, I'm like [laughter] What what I can't really follow them.
Speaker A
So Is that what you normally do with your customers? I follow [laughter] them. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A
Can you say how how much can you make in [music] a day in Oslo selling this pizza?
Speaker A
Ooh, you can make up to $2,000 maybe. A little bit burnt, but um Yeah, full full price.
Speaker A
Full price. [laughter] Full price. You guys [snorts] had three pizzas. Yeah. So, I'll just get it here.
Speaker A
And if we're able to get our phones to I think we got it. Yeah.
Speaker A
Thank you, guys. Yeah, thank you. You're uh No, not the second I guess our sixth customer.
Speaker A
And if you include me, so Seventh, and if you include Johannes, which I I can see him with a pizza slice.
Speaker A
[laughter] We're about to go eight. Maybe after this video though, a lot of people come here next year expecting pizza.
Speaker A
Yeah. So, maybe it will be better business next year. I still need to pay you though.
Speaker A
See. Ah, can I touch it? There we go. Yeah, that worked, I think. Let's see.
Speaker A
[music] Four slices, perfect. Honestly, it is the best pizza I've ever had. So, thank you.
Speaker A
Yeah, yeah, perfect. And I thank you guys for watching. Maybe we'll do this next year if more guys or more people will come here [music] to buy pizza. Maybe then it'll actually pay for the flight this time or that
Speaker A
time. Thank you guys for watching [music] and I will see you next time.
