But why was Philip walking in the middle of nowhere? He didn't know yet, but Philip trusted God. Then clip-clop, a chariot came rolling by, and inside was a man from Ethiopia, a very important official. He was reading a Bible scroll,

but he looked really confused. Wait, what does this mean? God's spirit told Philip, "Go catch him with a chariot."

So, Philip ran. Hey, he shouted, "Do you understand what you're reading?" The man said, "Nope, I need someone to help explain." So, Philip climbed in, and together they read the scroll. Philip told him all about Jesus, the one Isaiah wrote about.

Jesus came to rescue us, died on the cross, and rose again. Suddenly, the man got it. This is about Jesus. He is the Savior.

Then the man spotted water and shouted, "Look, water! Can I be baptized right now?" So they stopped the chariot, and Philip baptized him. The man came out of the water with the biggest smile ever.

Right after that, God sent Philip somewhere near. But the Ethiopian official rode home praising God the whole way. The Ethiopian official was riding in his chariot reading God's word, but he was confused.
