today we are going to be talking about Moon Spell High. I'm going to be giving you my reaction to it. I'm going to be telling you guys some history about it, and I'm also going to be telling you

guys some theories I have about it. And my theories about Moon Spell High are mainly how it exists in relation to Dream Theory Monster High. And we'll cover that at the end of this video. So, get hyped for it. But anyway, let's talk

about the doll history of what led up to Moon Spell High being created. So, back in the day, after G1 Monster High came out, G1 Monster High was super successful. Mattel actually did want to make a witch spin-off of G1 Monster

High. And this is the original concept art for this witch spin-off line that was going to be a spin-off to the original G1 Monster High. And one of the Mattel designers actually revealed this in an interview, and they have released

this art since then. But then guess what happened? Bratzilla happened. And funnily enough, Bratzilla is kind of like seen as a ripoff of Monster High, which, like, lowkey it kind of is. They definitely just did Bratzilla because MJ

was inspired by Monster High. But Bratzilla is also specifically a witch theme line. So then Mattel was like, "Hey, if we release a witch theme line immediately after Bratzilla's release, like that's not going to look good. It's going to look like we're in some

sort of back and forth war with MGA. Let's not start unnecessary drama." Because they had already had drama. They had already had a lawsuit between them and MGA like over Bratz and My Scene and stuff. So, they're like, "We're not even

going to do this." Which I can talk about that lawsuit in another video because that lawsuit's crazy because like you would think, "Oh, MGA would be the one suing Mattel because like My Scene kind of ripped off Bratz, but

no, Mattel sued MGA over Bratz. It's confusing." Anyway, Mattel did end up losing. But anyway, that's basically why the original witch line, this witch line, didn't get made. It didn't get made because of Bratzilla.

So then Mattel said, "Hm, let's try out some other concepts." So then in the summer of 2012, they decided to release Scarily Ever After, which is a line of Monster High dolls inspired by different fairy tale characters. And then Scarily

Ever After sold scarily well. So then they said, "Hey, we're going to greenlight Ever After High. That's going to be the next big thing." And we know, like, yes, our next spin-off is going to be a fairy tale themed spin-off, not a witch

spin-off. But basically, this is kind of funny, but if Bratzilla never happened, we probably would have gotten this original witch spin-off, which, like, I'm kind of glad Bratzilla happened.

I'm kind of glad we didn't get this original witch spin-off because I don't think it looks as good as Moon Spell High. And of course, I also really love Ever After High. But yeah, that's the tea. Like, we lowkey could have had a

Monster High witch themed spin-off line back in the day, but we didn't because of Bratzilla. And then we got Ever After High instead. And now it's kind of funny going to modern day because it's come full circle. And if you know, you know. But

for certain reasons, Mattel can't really bring back Ever After High right now. Like, I wish they could and I think a lot of designers at Mattel wish they could and you can kind of see that through a lot of the G3 designs. Even like the

fact that they brought back Cupid. I feel like the designers at Mattel are itching to bring back Ever After High, but they can't. So then they said, "Hm, what other spin-offs could we do?" They said, "Hey, let's go back to that witch

spin-off idea." And I think that's how we ended up with Moon Spell High. Now, obviously Moon Spell High looks very, very different from the original witch concept art back in the day, but it makes sense. Like, we're in a whole

different decade. There's a whole different, you know, style front going on. So it makes sense that Moon Spell High is something new. But I'm very excited for it. And I think it's so funny because even in some of the Moon

Spell High or Moon Spell Magic designs, you can kind of see like Ever After High inspiration. Like it's very obvious in some of their face molds. And also even with their outfits, like specifically the outfit that Claire Duna is wearing,

like I feel like if they would have rebooted Ever After High, like if they were able to reboot Ever After, I feel like the outfit that Claire Duna is wearing, like that could have been Raven Queen's outfit. Like that would have been a

perfect outfit, like a perfect redesign, like a more modern version of Raven Queen. Like I love Claire Duna.

Like she's, mark my word, she's going to be my favorite. You know, Raven's my favorite from Ever After High. Like, yeah. But now that we know the history of Moon Spell High, let's go through the dolls one by one and talk about what I

like about them. I do, first of all, want to kind of give a brief overall statement about Moon Spell High because overall I really like the vibe of Moon Spell High. It's obviously different than Ever After High and it's different

than G1, G1 and G3 Monster High. And what I will say about Monster High is I think I like the vibe of it, like the designs overall better than Monster High, but I don't think I like them as much as like

Ever After High. I feel like my ranking has got to be like G2 Monster High at the bottom, G3, G1 Monster High, Moon High, then Ever After High's got to be at the top. Okay, that's my ranking of

how much I like the designs overall of each of those lines. But anyway, let's go through the doll designs one by one.

So, we're going to start with Claire Duna. I think Claire Duna is the most gorgeous one in this line. I think again that's because I really like Raven Queen. She looks like Raven Queen to me.

People point out like, "Oh, her hair is like more blue. It's more indigo." Like obviously Raven's is more purple, but it kind of looks similar like Raven's was dark purple. I also love her eyes and I know she has like kind of like the

crystallization in one eye and that relates to her clairvoyant power. She's also blind. She does have her little walking cane. She has her little, what's it called? Like crystal ball.

And overall I just think her outfit's so cute. People pointed out she has tarot cards in her skirt. She has like astrology symbols in her little hat. And overall, I just think her outfit's so cute. It's so whimsy goth. Again, this

is like literally how I would design Raven Queen for if they did an Ever After reboot. And oh, the one thing I will say overall, this is what I meant to say at the beginning. Overall, I will say

for all their outfits, I think their outfits are very cute, but I feel like there's something missing. I feel like the same thing with some of the newer G3 Monster dolls as well, like Rebecca, like the Rebecca G3 doll. I feel like

there's just something lacking. And you can kind of see this pattern happen a lot with Mattel. Like this pattern happened with the original Monster High and the original Ever After High. Like at the beginning, the dolls

kind of would get to like a height where the outfits were super high quality and then Mattel would say, "Hey, we want to save a little money." And then they're kind of like a little less detailed. So it's not like there's no detail. Like

there is still detail, but it does feel like there is something a little lacking. And I wish there was a little more detail. I will say they also come with like some sort of cauldron feature where there's like a surprise in the

Rainbow High. However, this is much better than the new version of Rainbow High. The Rainbow High reboot kind of sucks. Um, but overall, I like her design the best. Let's move on to the next doll so I don't waste that much

time talking about her. But the next doll I want to talk about is Karina Song. She immediately gives me very Cupid vibes, but she's much more, in my opinion, much more girly and cutesy than Cupid. Like, there is definitely

something about her that just is different than Cupid. I also really like her eye makeup. She has I think like little hearts here. She just is like more like um how do I explain this? Like she just feels like more romantic in her

silhouette than Cupid. I really like the fun little dress. It's kind of giving like something Ariana Grande would have worn like 5 years ago. I also like her hair. Her her hat's cute and her shoes.

molds they ever did were like the OG Ever Try face molds cuz they keep like taking inspiration from them. Like recently with that other Barbie line, I'll put it up here. They kind of took the original Ever after dry faceold and

used it for that. And then with this, like it's kind like it looks very similar. It's not like an exact replica, I don't think, of any of the Ever Face holds, but it looks really good. And then she has her hearing aid, which is

like also Ever after High originally had very bad diversity. Like they didn't have any like characters that like really looked black. Like for example, like Justina and Cedar were obviously black, but like even Justina, her her face mold didn't like look that black.

It could have like passed for a white girl. And then like um Cedar, she had like the same face mold as the other dolls anyway, and she's like made out of wood. And then Brier is supposed to be

mixed. But then half the people I tell like, "Oh, Brier's Afro Latina." People were like, "I thought Brier was a tan white girl." Like anyway, Ever After High representation was horrible. But like I feel like basically this face

that's all. So that's why I run out of each of it all. So now you know my thoughts on them. So now we're going to get into talking about my theories about what I think Moon Spell might be.

Because again, originally when they were going to release Moon Spell, I really thought it was going to be Moon Spell High, which is why like I keep almost accidentally saying Moon Spell High in this video when in reality the line's

called Moon Spell Magic. But also, if you will notice, they don't have their own Instagram. They keep posting everything for Moon Spell on Monster High's Instagram. And even like the logo is Moon Spell Magic by Monster High. So,

this gives me several different theories for how like what the story is behind Moon Spell itself. So, just in general, I think it's going to be kind of some sort of like a coven of witches and they're all the Moon Spell witches like

together. Um, so it could be like a thing where like they attend um Monster High, but like they're all exchange students together. Maybe they all come from somewhere together or maybe they they just all attend Monster High and

they have a covenant in Monster High, like they have a special um track of classes. is like, you know how in some schools like there's a gifted program like where they they're in the school but then they do like certain classes.

It would kind of be like that. I also think the other thing with Moon Spell is they do want to incorporate Draculaura into it, but like they're not going to have Draculaura transfer to another school. Like she is the main girl. Like

they try to tell us Claudine's the main character. No, they treat Draculaur like she's the main character. She's even the one with special abilities. Okay, come on guys. Um but like it could be like like I said, it could be some sort of

covenant. It could be some sort of thing where like cuz I know in G3 there was like a plot line. I don't really know G3 that well. That's also the other problem. But like I know there's some sort of plot line where it's like they
