So, if you're here, we will not see you until next year. It's off the back of a very tense session two weeks ago that we join our party.

It was the Devitary of Insight, a religious structure devoted to the Vorin religion, a place of the collection of information, ancient tomes, grimoires, and manuscripts.

That was the target. Our party was at the behest of a man named Tanavir, a wealthy benefactor who had very much given as little information as possible to our party in going and taking an incredibly valuable document.

A writing from the Herald Tennelat was apparently being held within the Devitary of Insight.

And if that is to be believed, then in their possession right now is one of the most important written pieces ever collected on the face of Roshar.

It is written in the Dawnchant. It is nigh indecipherable and truly it would seem as if it might be the real article or at least assumed to be so by the powers that be due to the fact that

it was kept within a cloistered area of the Devitary of Insight. A place with steel doors, caged bookshelves, and an arcane case that contained a fabriel that would ignite the document should it be tampered with. They would rather lose it

forever than have it get into the hands of someone who was not meant to see it.

But through guile and wit and dexterity and skill, our party infiltrated the Devitary using new technology that was crafted by our own Alstrom to soften the stone in the ceiling of the library in order to infiltrate inside. It was the guile and

deductive reasoning of Berdelar and Feraniel that threw an obfuscation on the entire Devitary itself and threw off suspicions from anyone who would be coming in.

either the greatest villain to bear or a tragic friend, a man named Clim. Now, we're going to zoom in quickly on Alstrom and Navali as they were the two that were sprinting after disengaging from that member of Amaram's military

hierarchy away from the Devitary. The towering stone buildings of Colinar are on either side of you. Alstrom, this is a largely unfamiliar sector of the city to you. A place where it is mostly merchants, small businesses,

laborers, and warehouses. A commercial district that is also used for the storage, shipping, and receiving of the goods that flow inside and outside of the capital city. Nev, this is an old stomping ground for you. A place where

you've done business and plied your trade many, many times. A place where the richer upper echelons of the capital city had essentially treated dark eyes like garbage, used them for their labor. And you've seen the

sweat and blood of many a man go completely unnoticed here. But right now, the only thing that you're trying to hone in on is to get to this Honor's Hold.

that you recognize, and it comes up completely empty. You see no one. You sense nothing but you cannot banish the thought that there is someone or thing watching you. Whether it's an axe hound, a devious man, a light eyes who shouldn't be a guard member,

etc., etc., your mind races and then you see the business that you are supposed to go into. It is Honor's Hold. A squat two-story building that has an upper porch on the outside and a lower covered deck on the bottom that can be all

shut down. It's reinforced on the eastern route to keep the building sturdy from high storms. And that's when you notice the rain.

The what? The rain. The rain. Yes, you are one day out if the storm wardens are to be believed from a high storm, which is why they impressed upon you that you needed to commit to this job

now. And so, as you feel that pitter-patter of rain on your skin, what do you do?

There's one long table uh as well as what appears to be a patched up square or sorry circular hole in the side of the uh storm wall. Um the reinforced wall that would be um against the storm.

know, the city of uh Uretheru being rediscovered. And there's so so many uh uh instances of of of rumors of this happening and now it's happening to you.

The first 10 pages are harrowing to hear. Honor is dead. Honor died under mysterious circumstances that are not detailed in this book, but the circumstances that surround that event are spoken of.

the recreantsance, the throwing down of shard blades, and the breaking of pacts of honor from all of the knights radiant, the listlessness that came from the world after that fact, the the the details of desolations that have come before.

man being torn back into the stone age by voidbringers. And then you get to more idealistic things.

the sort of philosophical debate of whether or not Honor's death truly left the world without his touch, whether it was a suffused energy that went throughout the world.

And Tila about a third of the way through the book sort of looks up to you and says, "Are you all right? This is a lot.

highsprren for the for the sky breakers. You see you see honorren for windr runners. You read about uh the the cryptics for cryptic sprren for the lightw weavers and and peakren for the stone wards and and and it's just all so

much. And then on the page starting for else callers, you see a detailed drawing just like in every other chapter of the sprint.

It was like craggy molten rock for peak sprint. It was tall geometric-shaped men for cryptics. And you look at this and you see inksprin.

There's a little detailed drawing of a translucent man all covered in pearlescent evershifting colors at top an inky surface.

And as FRA looks at the page and looks to the page and looks to the page, can I please get you to make a discipline roll?

The little man made of ink that is upon the page looks up to you as your hand drifts across the page.

And he starts to grow and shift like flowing water or oil upon a page.

And he grabs your hand. I am sorry for this, but there are things that you must see.

You were meant to look upon the cold sun and so it is. And FRA feels a shift in her perception.

And you crash down onto what appears to be a pillar in an endless ocean of beads of glass.

The pillar is perhaps 100 ft above those pillars or those beads of glass. You hear the clacking coming from underneath you. A rigid wind is roaring across.

You see phosphorescent shifting lights on the horizon. A black sky illuminated by a cold sun is above you.

And standing next to you was a seven foot tall man made completely of ink.

Handsome sharp features shifting flowing liquid drifting across his body. You have been chosen. It is your destiny to become far greater than the sum of your parts.

You do not know yet that it is. You find yourself in Shadesmar and there will be much that you need to learn.

And I'm I'm so I'm being I'm falling into the beads. You are in the beads. They are surrounding you. The crashing sound of glass on glass is filling your ears. The tiny spheres are filling your mouth and nose. And it feels like a thousand souls

of inanimate objects are brushing against your skin, screaming their names at you. Um, does she find anything that feels like a book or a story?

Yes. Feeling around. You feel around. You want a book. You feel like you need a story.

Well, I'll tell you. There was only one book in that room. I would like a discipline role with raised stakes.

And with that opportunity, your hand swishes and moves and struggles through the glass and you're sifting and your fingers finally find a bead and it's glowing. It's old. It's ancient. You feel its spirit and it talks to you.
