The wheels have shifted in Algar. Once Colonar Shore, a beacon of pride and glory.
Speaker A
Now its towns grow beneath the weight of despair. Its people whisper of shadows moving in the rain.
Speaker A
Of oaths long broken beneath the thunder's roar. Four souls drawn together, bound by threads unseen.
Speaker A
An investigator, chasing truth through a city drowning in secrets. A thief. Mercenary by name, but fierce of heart, determined to save the whole that scorns them.
Speaker A
A fabric cloaked in falsehood, shaping light and metal, seeking to forge a better tomorrow before the storm consumes the present.
Speaker A
The Voron wolf staring defiance into the eyes of destiny, striving to become more than her world dares to allow.
Speaker A
The city trembles. Cults old and forgotten whisper beneath the weeping stone. And from the tempest comes a call for those who would speak the last eye to you.
Speaker A
Hello everyone and welcome back to The Last Ideal, another world tabletops Cosmir RPG actual play.
Speaker A
Tonight is our season finale, the last in the first act of our series.
Speaker A
And we left off at a fairly dire, a fairly dire moment. Now, Navali and Fira Berdelar and Olstrom, an illusory Alstrom actually coded in the patina of someone else's features, are walking down a
Speaker A
stone street in the market district of Kolar, having freshly come from Tanovir's abode.
Speaker A
On one side of the street are two-story tall businesses. On the other side of the street there are tent stalls and a small night market.
Speaker A
And on this main thoroughfare coming from one direction on the busy street is a set of two wall guards who are flanking an officer of the Colonar military.
Speaker A
In his hand is an already materialized shard blade, green all along the back and wavy like a roiling sea on both sides of the blade, almost in the style of the short of a flam.
Speaker A
On the other side of the street is a more recognizable individual, Tasmir, the officer who is attached to Amaram's forces, the high general of one of the high princes of the shattered plains.
Speaker A
In his hand is another shard blade, a jut of crystal shooting off the back and towards the bearer in a sort of winged crossguard and a very straight blade that extends out about six feet from the man.
Speaker A
For those of you at home who may not know what a shard blade is capable of, it cuts through inorganic material as if it was not there.
Speaker A
Slicing through metal, wood, stone, cloth like it is nothing. It only meets the most bare of resistance when it hits living flesh.
Speaker A
A shard blade does not attack a person's skin. It does not attack muscle. It does not hurt bone. It does not pierce organ.
Speaker A
A shard blade cuts through the soul, the spirit. The inner you. Where it slices it leaves gray dead flesh.
Speaker A
Not dead, cut off from nerves and blood flow. Dead as in the soul of the body cannot inhabit it.
Speaker A
And so our party is flanked on either side by men who wield the most grand weapons of destruction that the world knows in the modern day.
Speaker A
Tasmir points out his blade toward all of you. It is time that you come down for questioning.
Speaker A
You are being detained. You and yours are the only ones who seem to know anything about the heist at the Devitary.
Speaker A
You will come with us immediately. On the orders of Queen Asadan, can I please get an insight?
Speaker A
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 16. I forgot. 16. Okay. 21. 21. Okay. Nice. You said it was insight 17.
Speaker A
17. Okay. Mhm. It is only Feraniel that truly picks it up. Fananiel, you are well aware of the bureaucratic processes of the lighteyed society of Colonar. You have been in the military structure for the vast majority of your life. You are tangentially aware
Speaker A
of who this man is mostly in name only, an agent sent back from the shattered plains in order to enact the will of High General Amaram.
Speaker A
The Queen Asadan does not give the authority to use her name out on the streets to anyone except for the Cobalt Guard.
Speaker A
And this man is not the Cobalt Guard. He is bluffing. In fact, you are well aware that he is operating wildly outside of the jurisdiction of his station.
Speaker A
He is an agent of the military structures of the shattered plains. He is not a member of the wall guard and he has mustered the forces here. You would have to imagine with either spheres or browbeating. You've seen these tactics
Speaker A
before. Tasmir is a bully, a thug, and wielding a shard blade in public like this, a maniac.
Speaker A
You see anger spread, bubbling like boiling blood surrounding his feet. You see fear flitting about the shoulders of the attending guards around him.
Speaker A
And for a moment you realize that there needs to be a different motive. But regardless, on one side a shard bearer, on the other side a shard bearer.
Speaker A
But you do, Faniel, recognize that you're likely the only one who knows this information.
Speaker A
Immediately at that, she's going to whisper under her breath, "He's lying. He is not here on behalf of the queen. That's not how this works."
Speaker A
Okay, Bright Lord, are we being, do you are you going to place any charges now or do we just have to take you or, you know, you want to ask some questions? I
Speaker A
don't think I quite understand why, you know, all the pomp and circumstance. They stand about 60 feet away on either side. Um, you know, a good, a good, you know, in the amount of heartbeats that it takes to summon a
Speaker A
blade, they would be face to face with you. But he starts to walk towards you, pointing blade now in your direction. And he says, "Berilar juror, you in particular as a light eyes, you are being accused of treason.
Speaker A
Treason against the city of Colonar. Treason against the nation of Alithkar. And I speak now in the name of High General Amaram, the banner of Allidar and the war machine that is the princes who operate on the shattered plains. You
Speaker A
will come with me or suffer the consequences which are my blade." Can I just ask what treason I committed?
Speaker A
He continues to walk towards you, perhaps 30 paces away. Perfect. You are charged with the theft of a document from the devary of insight, robbing the Ardentia and being a heretic of the highest order.
Speaker A
Okay, that is a lot. And I would like to, if we haven't gotten into combat yet, I would like to enhance. I would like to use my investiture and kind of channel that energy into all my muscles and organs.
Speaker A
How far away is he now? He's about 30 paces still. So, here's the question.
Speaker A
He is going to continue to walk. And he continues to walk. And he continues to walk.
Speaker A
20 paces, 15 paces. If he took a solid lunge, his shard blade would gray your body from the neck down.
Speaker A
Do you think that it's been about a minute since we spotted him and he spotted us? Do you think that's reasonable?
Speaker A
I absolutely say that that's reasonable. Yes. Great. I would like to mark him as my quarry.
Speaker A
Yes. Okay. I'll come with you, but I don't know what they have to do with it. And I'll start walking towards him.
Speaker A
He points his shard blade at the ground, the tip of it gouging a solid line into the stone.
Speaker A
"On your knees, you will be shackled and brought to the palace," and then points to the rest of you, all of you as well.
Speaker A
While this is happening, I also wish to enhance. Okay. And I'm going to be real when he says that, "Nobody told me not to." I'm going to cheap shot this guy once he's within range.
Speaker A
We will—Oh, okay. The shard bearer that is behind you as well as the two attendants, the shard bearer being a tall blonde, maybe about 7 feet tall, ridiculous giant of a man, and his two attendants have also started to move about 30 paces away. You will start this initiative as a surprise action.
Speaker A
Navali will be the only benefactor of that and then we rush into regular initiative. So you get your cheap shot and then you will also receive one extra action of your choice as it is the surprise, which is a long turning.
Speaker A
Shard items are considered invested objects, correct?
Speaker A
Oh yes. Okay. Cheap shot. One focus. Spend one focus to make an unarmed attack with thievery versus cognitive while raising the stakes.
Speaker A
Absolutely. So, I will—
Speaker A
Oh, hell yeah. Um, that is it could have been higher. Um, it is that's nine uh 15 but with an opportunity.
Speaker A
That is very lucky. You have met his cognitive score and you will uh you will land the cheap shot. Do you want to describe that for me? What is the opening move of this combat?
Speaker A
Yeah, I think um as he's talking I breathe in stormlight uh hoping Jez is nearby to help me out in battle. And when he starts talking to Bear and telling him to kneel and that he'll be shackled and all these things,
Speaker A
Nev has had enough. And she um I know this is probably like paved streets and things like that. It's a nice neighborhood, but surely there's dirt somewhere. There's a storm recently. I want to kick that up into his face uh to
Speaker A
blind him momentarily. Is my cheap shot. Yeah. Chipped and dried creme has uh has turned into a fine the fine powder that it usually does uh upon the streets.
Speaker A
It's not being swept yet today. And you heave a handful of this dusty muck into uh into his eyes.
Speaker A
And I do nine impact to him. Okay. Okay. As a result of the deep shot.
Speaker A
Yeah. Absolutely. Okay. Got it. Now, the way that initiative works, because it has been 10 full episodes without an actual mass combat, the way that initiative works within this game is that it is not any sort of tiered
Speaker A
process. You do not roll dice in order to generate your initiative. It is the player characters that go first. Anyone that wishes to do a fast round will go in the first fast round of combat.
Speaker A
Anyone that wishes to do a slow round will go into the slow round of combat.
Speaker A
It will be the player characters followed by the non-player characters. That is how initiative works. You dictate amongst yourselves who would like to go first and in which order. It does not remain static from round to round. That's just how it works.
Speaker A
Initiative is a discussion. Who would like to go first? I will defer if no one can make a choice.
Speaker A
Fast action. Okay. Do you want to do fast? Yeah. All I need is Yeah. All I need is dictation on whether it's a fast or a or a slow turn uh to start. That is that is the choice you make. Okay. Fast, fast,
Speaker A
fast. Uh Lane, are you ready to go? Yes. Okay, Barlar, what do you do?
Speaker A
Uh I'm going to quick draw my side sword, which is a free action. Yep.
Speaker A
Um I am going to actually I have a question really quick. Yeah, please. If I were to try and manacle somebody mid combat, what kind of action is that?
Speaker A
I would say a disadvantaged athletics uh with a negative. That's like a n impossible task. That's some that that is some like superhero like Batman level uh maneuvering for sure.
Speaker A
Great. Good thing we're superheroes. Just so you know. Yeah. Like that's that's not impossible. just implausible.
Speaker A
Yeah. No. Great. Uh so yeah, I'm going to strike him with my side sword. And honestly, what's what armor is he wearing? He is wearing a breastplate with folds coming down. You could count it probably close to a half plate situation. A very decent
Speaker A
the And the way that armor works within uh within the Cosmir RPG is that you get a deflection bonus with which removes damage off of a strike. Um, and then your actual uh ability to dodge is simply your physical defense.
Speaker A
Great. Uh, I am Yeah, I'll I have advantage already cuz he's my marked quarry. I'm just going to swing.
Speaker A
Yeah, we're swinging. Yep, absolutely. Oh my god. Uh, 25 to hit. 25 strikes. Uh that's 10 points of keen damage with the side sword.
Speaker A
10 points of keen. Fantastic. You notice that it has take it takes a little bit of a of uh of effort. You you you know even with him blinded um and stunned.
Speaker A
You weave, you you dodge, you find and snake um your your blade against him and you do get a solid cut, but the armor is making it difficult.
Speaker A
Okay, great. Then I am also going to draw my knife in my off hand as well.
Speaker A
Yeah, perfect. Okay. Uh we did we lose Manny? Oh, okay. Um Gem, uh Feronial's turn will be next.
Speaker A
you recognize fairly fairly instantly um that these are you've stood side by side with trained soldiers for for much of your life. And there is a drastic difference between someone who picks up a spear and is a rank and file soldier. someone who will
Speaker A
march and follow orders and put the the sharp end into the soft bits of the opposing army and a true soldier.
Speaker A
This man that is in front of you as well as the man behind you have taken up stances, true warriors stances. You notice that one has taken on the blood stance, that being Tasmir, a wild swinging uh offensive stance, and the other has
Speaker A
taken on stone stance, one of deflection. It also shows that they have tears of of battle prowess ahead of their contemporaries.
Speaker A
You can really feel the danger. What do you do? Um, taking that in, I'm instantly and seeing Bear and Nali both make aggressive actions, I'm instantly going to use uh, through the fray on bear and oh no, sorry, decisive command on
Speaker A
bear. That's going to give him a one d4 command die. Um, and I'm just going to say, "Be careful. They're trained. We need to focus on a different strategy." And that's going to be my command to you.
Speaker A
Um, and you can add that die roll on your next test. Cool. Thank Um, and my second action is going to be through the fray to Navali where they can use the disengage or gain advantage action as a reaction.
Speaker A
Oh, I can't hear you. So, that will work as they get to spend their their turns reaction in order to gain advantage instead of needing a different skill or the assistance of another.
Speaker A
Perfect. Perfect. Love that. Okay. Awesome. And at the same time, she's going to also use her free action to draw her side sword, but she's more focused on assessing and looking around for a way out and or strategy.
Speaker A
Absolutely. Absolutely. That just leaves Oh, can't can't hear. Oh, did you say there was um like a sewer or something below us last time?
Speaker A
There was a listening port. Uh there was some sort of Yes. It would seem as if there is there may be a uh uh there may be an empty uh uh chamber underneath the street where you're at. Like there's there's
Speaker A
I guess I guess the thing I'm looking Alstrom's looking for is a wall or a floor to turn into a hole to make an alternate escape route for us.
Speaker A
Yeah, absolutely. Uh, I mean the obvious uh the obvious one would be the uh flood tunnels um that run all underneath colonar uh between the wind blades and like actual uh like slooways sistns uh etc etc that run the water away from the
Speaker A
city. Um there's tunnels all underneath the the the streets of Colonar. Absolutely. And the listening port that's just beneath your feet leads you to believe that yes, uh, you would be able to cut a hole and hopefully there would be a method of egress away
Speaker A
from here via the tunnel. Mhm. Yeah. I I want to use my creme reel to turn the ground like right in front of me into clay so I can Yeah. Turn it into a hole.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah. Perfect. Perfect. That's one action. Mhm. Would it How many actions do you think that would be? One or two for the creme reel?
Speaker A
Yeah. I mean, it is it is one action, but like do you think it would be more than one?
Speaker A
No, definitely not. It's It's a very simple activation. Uh so, yeah. Okay. Uh yeah. So, I like put my hand uh on the floor and I think um Oh, no. This doesn't use any storm light. It's just a charge. So, um the
Speaker A
like leather um wrist guard that I have um pumps some storm light into the floor into this like 5ft circle and it just I I guess if there's a space beneath us just sloths the the sloths out.
Speaker A
It's a it's a what a five a five three foot five foot section. I I forget what the exact foot section. Yeah, it's a medium size.
Speaker A
Yeah. Perfect. So, a 5-ft hole does open up. Mhm. You see underneath that? Yes, it is actually just a proper uh sewer entryway. Um, whatever uh small listening port uh that was there before has been coated uh completely in mock
Speaker A
and creme. Um if there was an individual that was listening, they have they have absconded. Um they are gone. Um, but you do see a method of egress even though it is a rather steep drop.
Speaker A
Yes. Uh, sitting at about 10 ft. Yeah. Can I use my movement to hop down there? And I'll say before I do that, I'll say um uh uh don't worry. Uh I got your back and I hopped down. Probably taking some
Speaker A
damage and like getting my sling ready. I'll ask I see something. I will ask for an athletics 17 17 Olstrom in a surprising uh uh frankly shocking display of athleticism. Um which if Navali had seen it uh would
Speaker A
lead them to be very disappointed in the athletic displays at the Devitary. uh jumps down and lands in a nice hero's three-point landing and uh takes not a single sliver of damage um from the drop. It seems as if maybe he picked up
Speaker A
a thing or two from watching Nali uh vault amongst the stacks of the library.
Speaker A
So Navali, you are last. Uh can you remind me the positioning of the enemy again really quick? 15 ft in front of you. Uh stunned is uh uh Tasmir. He is flanked on either side by two warriors that are wielding uh uh
Speaker A
spears. Uh and then behind you 30 ft is a uh another shard bearer of unknown origin and two uh almost identical uh wall guards wielding spears as well. All of them are wearing identical armor. uh the breastplate folds uh uh puldrons. Um
Speaker A
and besides that they are wearing the reg regalia the blue regalia of colonar wall guards besides Tasmir who wears the heraldry of amaram.
Speaker A
Okay. Uh, I think what I'm going to do is Oh, also Bear is up in Tasmir's [ __ ] Oh, yeah. Bear. Yeah, Bear. Bear and Tasmir are uh nose tonose essentially.
Speaker A
Great. Um I Let's see. within 20 ft of you. End of your turn. Disengage or gain advantage. Action is a reaction. Um, could I have used uh, sorry, I was AFK. Could I have used my reaction after receiving it
Speaker A
to have advantage on this attack? Is that how works? Absolutely. A reaction can be a reaction is essentially used whenever you would like, even on another person's turn.
Speaker A
Dope. Okay. Uh then I want to spend that to have advantage as I attack Tasmir.
Speaker A
Um so I will do that. We know that his physical defense is under 25.
Speaker A
Okay. That is what that is what Barlar rolled. Great. I told you he knows how to fight.
Speaker A
He do. He do. Yeah. I'm going to use my knife. Oh, yeah. You get two actions on there. So, knife. Okay.
Speaker A
Okay. Well, the first one's an at 20, so it's not going to get any better than that. Um, so that's a crit. Uh, plus four for knife 24. Um, does that hit? I mean, it isn't at 20, but
Speaker A
Oh, yeah. Yeah, that certainly hits. Okay. Yeah. Great. Um, remind me again, crits in this game. Do I just roll double damage?
Speaker A
Maximum damage. Maximum damage. So, it would be eight total. Keen damage. Keen damage. Um, and I do get two actions.
Speaker A
Uh, an attack is an attack is I believe two actions and since you took a fast turn, you have only two actions, right? Attack is attack is Wait, strike is just one action, but if you want to do it again, you have to spend a
Speaker A
focus or use two or Right. Right. Right, right, right, right right right. Good. Good catch. Good catch. Two focus.
Speaker A
Um, so that's one. And then if I want to use another one, I can use Can am I able to use a surge?
Speaker A
It says it's one action. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it's not technically an attack. Yes.
Speaker A
Great. Uh, I want to uh lash this idiot upwards and see what happens. Okay. Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker A
Um, so I will gravitation search. Um, I basically I want to um like ass like send him ass over tea kettle basically.
Speaker A
Um, that's the that's the goal. So, what it sounds like um you are trying to do is uh send you're trying to launch him directly directly upwards, right?
Speaker A
Okay. So, so you are targeting a character uh target an object infuse yourself. Um yeah, target an gravitation on others. So you will per you're performing a basic lashing on an unwilling character. You need to make a gravitation def uh a test against his
Speaker A
target or his physical defense. So go ahead and roll. I think it's awareness for gravitation.
Speaker A
Uh they adhesion like uh the lashing types like your different surges gain their own skill on the character sheet after you get them. So I have a separate skill for gravitation.
Speaker A
Perfect. Perfect. Which is a plus four. It's kind of cool. Uh, that is unfortunately a six.
Speaker A
Can I use my reaction to to aid you to give you advantage on that role somehow?
Speaker A
Mechanically, I think I should be able to, but like story-wise, I don't know how I would.
Speaker A
Yeah. So, the way that this way the way that uh giving people advantage is supposed to work within the uh within the actual game is that you you give a skill that you would be able to justifiably use in order to to give the
Speaker A
advantage. I have a fairly tough time imagining a way that you would help with a lashing because it's not so much that you Yeah, that's a that that is a tough one.
Speaker A
Uh yeah. No, it's fine. It it makes sense to not give advantage on those things.
Speaker A
I I would say I would say actually that in the future we'll definitely revisit this. You as a character do not know what Navali is doing.
Speaker A
Yeah. No, absolutely. Yeah. You see you see Navali trying to reach out and touch the center chest of this uh stunned man. Uh and nothing occurs. Uh, we'll say that like a very weak lashing is applied to just for
Speaker A
flavor and to give people that are watching an idea of what's happening. A very weak lashing is put onto the breastplate and uh it's sort of lifting off of his chest um before subsiding.
Speaker A
Yeah. So, I think what it looks like in action in Meteor is she slices at him while he's stunned to take advantage of that. uh cuts him pretty good and then with her free hand like does like a on
Speaker A
his breastplate uh and it shows like a shimmering line but it doesn't complete the shape that it's supposed to be. Uh not that you would know that from the outside but that's what it looks like.
Speaker A
Windrunners really do have the danger boop. So all right now it is the unfortunately the enemy's turns.
Speaker A
Each of them is going to take a slow turn. The very first one that is going to go is Tasmir.
Speaker A
Tasmir is half blind stunned the condition and is not doing well. His attack will gain his attack will gain disadvantage.
Speaker A
However, he is striking out directly at both Nev and Beardar. There is a unique property to shard blades in which they will automatically graze the individuals that are beside.
Speaker A
So, the first attack is going to go at Berlar. Barlar, that is a 17.
Speaker A
17 with disadvantage. 17 with disadvantage. Yeah, that hits. So you are going to take seven spiritual damage. This is not HP.
Speaker A
as well. I need you to roll a d20. This is versus an injury. Not good. That's a six.
Speaker A
That is a six. All right. Okay. So the way that this will work you have the ability to do investment but uh the reality is that you have a minor injury that otherwise untreated will do the following.
Speaker A
Officer Tasmir takes his shard blade and he rams it into your belly, connecting with organs, connecting with uh your viscera, and shooting out of the back of you. He then rips the blade out of the side of you,
Speaker A
drawing a thick gray line in your flesh. You are considered, and I know this is going to be rather uh uh this is going to be rather uh uh ironic, you are considered slowed.
Speaker A
Of course, I am. It is also in no uncertain terms the most stark and panic inducing pain you have ever felt. It feels as if your soul is on fire, like you have been struck by the sun.
Speaker A
for his second action. He is going to brace himself, which is largely irrelevant until the next turn.
Speaker A
Next are the two guards that are adjacent to Tasmir. They lower their spears and they are going to attack Navali. Navali, what is your physical defense?
Speaker A
Uh, too high for you to roll. Just kidding. Uh, it's 15. 15. Okay. Uh, one does not strike, the other one does. A sharp uh a sharp spearhead reaches out and bites Navali in the thigh, dealing seven points of
Speaker A
Keen damage, minus your deflection. Oh, me add one back then, actually. There we go. Next, the shard bearer that is behind sprints to the hole that has been formed by Alolstrm and jumps inside.
Speaker A
As he hits the dirt and muck that lines the sewer tunnel, he is going to make a grand sweeping slash at Olstrom.
Speaker A
You see the rage in his eyes and he whispers out a word in Phalen where we're from.
Speaker A
This isn't anything but a man beyond his means. But here you're a heretic, Olstrom.
Speaker A
Somehow this man knows who you are beyond the illusion and he will go to strike you with his shard blade. What is your physical defense?
Speaker A
15. 15. That is a strike. The wavy greenbacked blade slices out and you take eight points of spiritual damage.
Speaker A
And I would like you to roll a d20. 16. A 16. Okay. The shard blade pierces your upper shoulder and rips out of the side through your collarbone and up through the shoulder.
Speaker A
You are considered exhausted. The pain is flaring and a lot of the flesh of your shoulder, the scapula, the pectoral has gone gray.
Speaker A
You will gain a negative one to all skill tests. The two soldiers that were beside the mysterious shard bearer rush in with spears and they are going to attack Veronal.
Speaker A
The first one goes to strike and you hear him whisper under his breath. He says, "By the almighty, I am sorry for this." And what is your physical defense?
Speaker A
14. The spear. Ooh. For the very first time, very likely in Feraniel's life, you feel the bite of cold steel entering warm flesh. And you take seven points of keen damage as it pierces through abdomen and out of the back. Warm blood rushing down
Speaker A
and the other one attacks as well. And that is that is a miss. We will return back to the player characters.
Speaker A
Seems fitting. I'll take a slow turn. Yeah, certainly. Who's ready to go? I'm ready.
Speaker A
Nev, what do you Yeah, I'll do a fast turn, but I can go Oh, if you do a fast turn, you go first, Olm.
Speaker A
Yep. That is how that works. Yeah, but I mean like if anyone else wants to do a fast turn, they can go before me.
Speaker A
Oh, okay. Anyone else fast turn? No. You want all your actions? Okay, Olst, you go.
Speaker A
Um, I'm going to use two Stormlight to regenerate. Yeah. which is a free action. Yes.
Speaker A
So that's 11. Does that do anything? Yes, it does. You've heard stories. You've heard rumors that a wound from a shard blade is forever. They don't heal.
Speaker A
You lose access to that part of your soul. It is severed and in a very panicked reaction, you reach for the investment, the storm light that is inside you. You feel it thumping in your veins and you use it to
Speaker A
push out that spiritual decay from your shoulder and you feel it grow warm again.
Speaker A
the wound healing and the flesh whole again. What do you do? You follow me heretic, not I.
Speaker A
You are the heretic. And I want to try and attack uh grab him and attack with my compressor to see if I can slow him.
Speaker A
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, it it's um it is a physical defense. Okay. Yeah. 12.
Speaker A
12 does not hit. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. And then that's one action. I have two actions. I also want to do I'm going to use one more investature.
Speaker A
Mhm. and make an illusurary duplicate of myself. So, I guess um I'm I'm disguised, but then I kind of breathe out and the disguise just turns into another version of Alstrom and he has disadvantage and cannot graze.
Speaker A
Okay. Okay. Absolutely. Okay. Uh I that is that is your action. He looks He looks panicked. He looks He looks completely flabbergasted.
Speaker A
The illusion ends after an attack misses. Oh, okay. Yep. Heard. Yep, that makes sense. No, that makes sense. Uh he looks completely confused. His his his eyes go go go startlingly wide. Uh, and he waves his his shard blade out in front of him, uh,
Speaker A
in a sort of panicked motion and sets himself. And I just spit at the ground, Nev. I believe you had an action.
Speaker A
Uh, yeah. Um, yeah, I guess I'll I guess I'll take a slow turn. I'd like to have more actions anyhow, so that works for me. Um, before I say or do anything, what's Jez doing?
Speaker A
Jez is in a panic uh shooting around as a ribbon of light. Um, not too terribly pleased with uh what's going on, but he can't do a heck of a lot to help.
Speaker A
Uh, I think I think I would we can talk to them through our bond without speaking out loud, right? Or is that not okay? Not yet. Um, Jez, some advice would be helpful.
Speaker A
If I was alone, I would just be running. Uh, Jez flits down to your shoulder and in in the blink of an eye and uh and whispers in your ear, "Kill him. Kill him. Kill him. Kill him.
Speaker A
Kill him. Quick. Quick. Quick. Real soldier. Real soldier. Real soldier. This is a real soldier. He's going to kill you. You need to get him first.
Speaker A
Kill this man. Turn him into mush. He needs to go and fast bear. He can bleed.
Speaker A
This man can bleed. Get him. Stab him with your knives. Get a bigger sword.
Speaker A
Get a sword. I can't be a sword. Well, wouldn't that be nice? And I'm just going to after bantering with him since that's a free action. Uh, I am going to Yeah, I mean, I'm probably going to go for I'm not too
Speaker A
worried about the regular soldiers. I'm worried about I'm worried about Tasmir. I I want to knock him off kilter. Can I mess him up in that way?
Speaker A
I can forcibly maneuver my opponent by shoving them. Athletics test against physical defense of a character within your reach on success. You push or pull the target 5 feet horizontally. Oh, cool. I want him to move away from bear. Uh,
Speaker A
yeah. I think I'm going to I think I'm going to shove Tazmir. Okay. Uh, and he should be lighter. I would say he should be lighter because he has like half a lashing on him.
Speaker A
Sure. Throw it as a throw it as a an advantage. Dope. Uh, so then I have to roll my athletics versus physical defense. And if I succeed, I push him like five feet further away from her. That's my goal.
Speaker A
Yeah, herd. Okay, first one is not very good. Let's try again. I I didn't even look at it because it fell off the table. Okay. Uh total of 15 on the higher of the two rolls. Uh does that hit his physical?
Speaker A
15 does hit. Okay. Then I shove him five feet horizontally. If I successfully shove a character who has Oh, he hasn't grappled me, so that doesn't count. Um, yeah, I'm just shoving him away. That's two of my actions. Um, and since shove does not
Speaker A
count as an attack, I would then like to attack him once I shove him away.
Speaker A
Yeah. So, instead of actually shoving him, I'm like I'm like forearm like pushing him into his chest to get him away from bear and then I'm stabbing him.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah, for sure. Absolutely. Okay. Dagger, dagger, dagger. Hey, that's a 19 on the die plus 4 23.
Speaker A
Uh, let's go. Um, and that's one d4 plus four keen damage. So, uh, seven keen damage.
Speaker A
Seven more keen damage. Okay. Yeah, absolutely. Um, once again, you keep seeing uh you you keep seeing that the armor is is doing its job uh deflecting a pretty large bulk of the of the damage that you're putting down. But, um, he's
Speaker A
starting to bleed. There's blood running down his leg. There's blood running down his arm. There's blood running from his uh, you know, from right above the collar bone where the breastplate is, uh, open from the three strikes that
Speaker A
between you and Bear you have you have landed. He's he's bleeding. Um, but not down by any stretch of the imagination.
Speaker A
As you me as you strike him once more, he he lets out a terrific roar uh full of of rage and and frustration.
Speaker A
Can I please get uh FRA to roll a uh an awareness please? Okay. Uh yeah. No, you know what? We'll do perception, actually. I think that's more appropriate.
Speaker A
19. 19. It is the It's hard to call birthright, but it seems to be a hallmark of Alleie warriors.
Speaker A
You see that crazed, ragefilled look in his eyes. This man has anger sprren boiling out from underneath him and flits of glory spren popping into existence. These little golden spheres and you see the thrill running through his eyes. You see that
Speaker A
that blood lust. You are very worried that this man will not stop until you are either dead or captured and you're unsure about the captured. Uh he's possessed by something and you can you can feel it. Uh Nev, is
Speaker A
that your turn? Um, I think since he's growing. Actually, you know what? No, I'm fine. I'm good.
Speaker A
Okay. Yep. Yep. Yep. Bear. Fra. Bear's going to look back to FRA, you okay?
Speaker A
Are you going to not even Is not even responding to you. She's taking in the the scene and looking terrified at this man who's hovering over both of you.
Speaker A
Great. Great. You're checking. Uh Beard is also going to use a free action to spend an investature and regenerate.
Speaker A
Yeah. Okay. Uh four. So, but spirit damage still does damage health, right? Like it damages hit points.
Speaker A
Yes, it is. It is targeting spirit. Yeah. Um, it is technically it is considered spiritual damage, which means that it goes against spiritual defense.
Speaker A
Yeah. Cool. And and it doesn't it that's the one damage that can't be negate um like brought down by armor.
Speaker A
Yeah. No deflection. Yeah. which is why I that's the only reason why I say that it's uh that it's it's targeting your spiritual defense.
Speaker A
Uh because yeah, that means your deflection bonus does not count at all. Great. Um does the gray wound start to heal a little bit?
Speaker A
You said four. Yeah. Even though it was a rather savage wound, the it does the the health has started to to heal. Yes.
Speaker A
the flesh is less gray. I'm going to point at the other two guards who just attacked Nev and then point at the wound and go, "Did you see that?
Speaker A
What information is going on?" Eh. Uh, and then Bear is going to rush around to the other side of Tasmir from where Nev was. Um uh and smiling is going to I Okay, so I think you can uh first of all, what is
Speaker A
he braced against? You said he braces this turn. Uh yeah, the he has braced himself against nothing. Uh the the the brace of uh of him seems to be against.
Speaker A
So, in a regular situation, you would need a surface, a a some something to to push yourself against, a person, anything.
Speaker A
This I I can't really peel back the veil for you because you don't recognize what this is, not having been a soldier um on the battlefield. So, it's a it's a tough Okay. Yeah, it's a tough one. You see
Speaker A
him sturdy though. You do understand that. Cool. Well, in that case, I am just going to rush to the opposite side of him from where Nev is attacking. Um, and I am going to try and hit him. He's not
Speaker A
wearing a helmet, right? Or is he wearing a helmet? No helmet. I'm going to try and hit him in his stupid head because I'm tired of the armor absorbing the damage. I don't want to deflect. I will take the disadvantage
Speaker A
so that I do not get the deflect and I will stab him in the head with my sword.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah, this man is going to die. I'm done. I'm done playing. 17 + 6 23.
Speaker A
23 does hit. Not bad. Nine points of Keen damage. a wicked slash across the face.
Speaker A
You see that your sword has impacted in such a way that when you pull back and he places a hand to his face to see what is wrong. He pulls his hand away and you see a gap in the in the flesh of his
Speaker A
jowl and you see teeth showing from the wound. Great. I'm going to spend a focus and with my offh hand because I have uh expertise in knives, I will spend one focus instead of two to take a second
Speaker A
attack. Uh once again, I'm going to go for his head. I'm I'm tired of this.
Speaker A
Okay, it's not as good, but it's still good. 20 20 to strike. Oh, max damage. So, another 10 damage.
Speaker A
Another 10 damage. Another another staggering blow. You see uh a wound cut into the meat of his neck. Uh blood starting to flow rather freely from from the wound. Um yeah.
Speaker A
Okay. Um I used my movement to get there. Two attacks. So I think I am tapped.
Speaker A
Yeah, certainly. That's me. Mhm. Mhm. I believe that would be FA. Uhhuh. Um, so recapping what I'm seeing, I see these two soldiers in front of me with spears. I see uh the sprite lord with his shard shard
Speaker A
blade attacking Nev and Bear. I don't see Alm or the other shard bearer. You were you are privy to the fact that they did jump in the hole. You are aware of the fiveft hole that's behind you and
Speaker A
the fact that Olstrom and the shard bearer are in it. But I had just taken notice of the blood lust in this man's eyes. Um, what do Nev and Bear look like currently while they're fighting?
Speaker A
Nev is fairly whole. Uh, uh, no. Got on my leg and that's it. Yeah. And Bolar, though, is still suffering from a fairly savage uh strike to to the side until that wound is fully healed. Um that's a that that is a rough
Speaker A
wound. Um you see the a thick line of gray flesh in his uh uh in his abdomen as well as the separated cloth clothing and uh etc. that is there as well.
Speaker A
And and to further hone in on that bear has entered full-on flow state flow state feral feral dog mode. Uh absolutely. Um there is no thought like there's no thinking right now. Uh that's all.
Speaker A
Um but he looks worse than Nev, right? Certainly. Yeah. Yeah. And you haven't you haven't used that command die yet, right?
Speaker A
Uh no. No. Both my attacks hit, so I still got it. Okay. Um, FRA sensing that this Bright Lord with blood lust has the most um is the most danger right now that she can see and she sees how injured Bear
Speaker A
is. Uh, she's going to disengage from these two soldiers. Um, I can do that, right?
Speaker A
Yes, you can. Absolutely. You can spend an action and use disengage. Then she's going to move to within range to near this shard bearer Bright Lord.
Speaker A
Yes, Tazmir. Um, she's going to again use through the fray this time on there and if she can just put out a hand or get his attention. She's seeing him in this flow state, but she sees how injured he is and tell him to get away.
Speaker A
Um, and while trying to draw the attention of Tasmir. Okay. What does that gives you this?
Speaker A
All right. Okay. Cool. Thank you. So, I believe that is your turn, correct? Yeah, that's my three options. Yep.
Speaker A
Okay. It is now the NPCs. The the I think I think the first thing that happens is a little bit of banter from first of all uh uh Jez. Jez whispers in the ear of um of Nev and says
Speaker A
one of those soldiers. They apologized to FRA. I I I know I heard it.
Speaker A
Growl loudly in their direction and I swear they'll run. No heart. Next, you hear Tila in the ear of Berdelar.
Speaker A
You can weave. Put something over your friends. Anything. Make it harder. Do something. And down underneath in the sewers wave says in a panicked vibration dimpling the fabric of your vest, zipping about erratically. Uh Wave is not doing well. Uh and is panicking
Speaker A
quite badly. Um, fear, a lot of fear in that poor little fella. So, next it is Tasmir. Tasmir looks to bear and a roar.
Speaker A
Spittle flying from mouth. He whips around his blade flying past and your physical defense was 15.
Speaker A
Correct. He rolled an 18. It's 15. But I am going to use dodge uh with another focus to make him uh give him disadvantage.
Speaker A
To give him disadvantage. Okay, perfect. Uh he will stri That's Yeah, that's even higher.
Speaker A
Great. That is 10 against spiritual. Oh yeah, that's damage. And can I get you to roll AD20, please?
Speaker A
Yep. You will take uh 15. You will take a negative. Uh I do need to look that up one last time. I should just have another tab up for injuries at this point if we're working with shard blades.
Speaker A
Um, so you said 15. Uh yeah 15. Okay. This is once again a shallow injury.
Speaker A
You feel a cold bite of shard blade reaching into flesh. You see the tattered remains of your pant leg flow free as the last eight inches of this blade cuts through the bottom underneath the knee and severs your leg completely. You feel it go
Speaker A
directly numb bear. You fall prone and you are no longer considered slowed. You simply cannot stand.
Speaker A
He is going to spend a focus and he is going to lash out at Navali.
Speaker A
Nev, your physical defense was that's 15. 15. the strike lands. Uh I would like to spend a focus to use the the dodge reaction.
Speaker A
Okay. Uh to add disadvantage to his attack test. Okay. Uh that is not one. Uh so he will not hit Nev. You duck.
Speaker A
And a strike that otherwise very likely. Let's see. Let's see how deadly that that would have been. Yes, you would have taken quite the uh quite the strike. Um you would have taken a total of 12 uh damage past spiritual. Um
Speaker A
so the other shard bearer is going to attack Alolstrom. Disadvantage. Disadvantage. That is O.
Speaker A
Okay. Well, that is a seven, but it was going to be a 26. I think he hits, but it's the illusion and then it just puffs away.
Speaker A
Oh, yeah. He is going to spend the focus to attack again. Uh, that's what is your physical default world at 12?
Speaker A
14. 14. He does not strike. go. And yeah, I think I I see him miss and I just duck instinctively. Just duck as he swings again.
Speaker A
Maybe. Yeah, you absolutely throw yourself down. The blade flying over your head. Uh perhaps a lock of your hair is cut free and sent flying.
Speaker A
Absolutely. Two of your two of the uh spearman uh one of them is going to stab into Barelar attempting to finish him off.
Speaker A
Uh your physical defense is -2 uh from what it was and he has rolled a 14.
Speaker A
That hits. You take an additional three points of keen damage minus your deflection if you have any.
Speaker A
Okay. And the other one strikes out at Nev and he is going to use cheapot.
Speaker A
So this is against cognitive. Uh what is your cognitive? Uh my cognitive defense is 14. So just one less than physical. So, Nev is old hat when it comes to the cheap tricks of the uh of the streets of Colonar. And
Speaker A
you see uh what is known as the dirty devitary as he goes to bring uh not knowing what your gender is due to your intentional obfuscation. He goes to nail you between the legs, finding no purchase and dealing no damage. Was
Speaker A
that supposed to hurt? Yes. And then he pulled his spear back and uh then we move to the other two spearmen. Uh and they are once again circling on Faniel.
Speaker A
Uh the first is a big a gross miss. Uh the dice have rolled a two and the second your physical defense was a 14 15. Yeah, 14 that does strike uh and you are going to take an an additional three damage.
Speaker A
Uh Keen, we move back into the next phase and Tasmir is going to attempt to take a fast turn as are the two soldiers that were flanking him.
Speaker A
It is up to y'all whether you want to take fast turns and deny him the ability to move more quickly in this initiative phase.
Speaker A
Uh yeah, I am. Okay. You will take a fast turn as well. Damn right.
Speaker A
I think I have to I think I think I will take a fast turn.
Speaker A
I'm going to deny it as well. Well, are if you're slowed, are you able to take a fast turn?
Speaker A
Yes, you are. I'm not slowed anymore. I'm just prone. Yeah, just prone. No, you're still slowed.
Speaker A
Oh, I'm slowed and prone. Yeah. Until the wounds until the wounds that you have uh taken are fully healed. You do not remove the statuses from a shard blade strike.
Speaker A
Cool. So then I'm not exhausted. Yeah. You're not exhausted. The wound was completely healed.
Speaker A
Okay. Let me know if this is reasonable cuz I think I'm going to go through with this anyway cuz I have I have means.
Speaker A
I have all manner of thieving accutra all over me. I want to tear the oil flask that I keep and smash it into tasmir.
Speaker A
And if I have to spend focus to light it on fire, I will. That will take interact. Interact.
Speaker A
Interact I believe is one item is one action. Yeah. So that's one action. I'm not so much worried about the action. I do think it's versus physical defense.
Speaker A
Yeah. It would be an unarmed attack, right? Oh yeah. Um yeah, I also have an ability that gives me improvised weapon I think proficiency.
Speaker A
I'm not sure. Hold on. Uh, where is it? Okay, I guess it's different. Never mind. Uh, it could still be improvised weapon if you want it to vers instead of unarmed attack.
Speaker A
Uh, it it could be. Yeah. Yeah, we'll go with it. Uh, the only thing is I would have to choose what form it is. And nothing matches up with bottle.
Speaker A
Shield. Uh, we'll say shield. Yeah, that makes sense. Anything blunt? Literally anything blunt. Okay. Um, can I request the unarmed attack instead? Cuz shields are heavy and I'm not I can't do heavy.
Speaker A
Make a light weapon attack at disadvantage. Okay, I'll Since this is technically not a weapon and not something you could have trained with.
Speaker A
Even unarmed attack wouldn't cuz that would be it's not an unarmed attack. This is not a punch. This is not a kick. This is not a headbutt. This is trying to smash a bottle on someone, which is patently.
Speaker A
Can I Can I aid this time with my reaction if I grab his feet?
Speaker A
I will allow advantage. If you land a uh if you land an attack of your own without disadvantage, you need to roll above a 15.
Speaker A
Uh, so you said mine was a disadvantage. Uh, yes. I'm trying to help, but it didn't work out.
Speaker A
Yeah, Bear's Bear's trying. He's scrabbling at the feet. Wait, what am I doing? It didn't do [ __ ] Rolling with disadvantage.
Speaker A
Okay, 13 then. So, it doesn't it doesn't it doesn't hit. It does not strike, but you do not.
Speaker A
Let's see how right on top of him. I'm just like smash. That's it. sometimes dice.
Speaker A
Yeah. Um, so after Nev it is going to be is anyone else taking a fast turn? That is my question. Bear is okay.
Speaker A
I think me too. What happens to the oil though when I break it? Still in your hand. Not broken.
Speaker A
Okay. Because you were pl Okay, so here's my line of thinking. You had an oil bottle in your hand. You went to strike it against him. It did not hit him. It did not hit anything. You didn't follow
Speaker A
through on the attack and smash it into the ground. I'm not arguing. I said, "Okay." No. No. Okay. Yeah, for sure. I'm just like, this is that's how it works in my head, right? It's not broken.
Speaker A
Yeah, that's fine. Makes sense. Fine. Okay. I'm on the ground. This guy, he's got to be hurting something fierce, right? like like he's he's not in a good way right?
Speaker A
It's tough to say. Like I'll I'll make the perception check to just look at him like is or like a medicine or something.
Speaker A
No. Yeah, please. I would say I would say a medicine. You're trying to get a you know a vibe on exactly how he's feeling. Yeah, that's really good. That's a 20.
Speaker A
Better than you'd hope is the problem. The armor really What the hell is this guy made out of? I stabbed him in the head.
Speaker A
You hit him. You hit him twice in the head. Those were truly two of the only attacks that actually went through. Uh tallying the damage, which you know is something that y'all could have done.
Speaker A
Like we'll we'll lift back the veil a little bit. He's only taken um unless we're account like without accounting for uh for deflection, he's only taken 25 damage.
Speaker A
That's not true. Right. I've dealt 29 myself. I've dealt 29 damage to him with my just my attacks with deflection.
Speaker A
Sorry, did I misspe? Like with deflection, he's taken 25 damage. Oh. Oh, I see. Okay. So, after all of the subtraction, after all the subtractions, he's taken 25. That's not crazy for a for a soldier path, shard bearer path.
Speaker A
So, he's looking and he's got a mania to him. Uh [ __ ] I'm kind of boned. You feared you had you were taking a fast action, too, right?
Speaker A
Mhm. Do you want to go before me? I don't know what the hell I'm going to do.
Speaker A
I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do. Fast is two actions, right? Fast is two actions. Yeah, I have a mechanics question then.
Speaker A
Please. Um, I haven't said the words yet, but I still have access to those three things before saying the words, right?
Speaker A
Like enhance. Uh you do not yet. You do not have access to the to the to the first three uh abilities of a of a radiant unfortunately.
Speaker A
But you wish for it, you want it. And I guess what my question will be to get a little meta with it is what's FRA feeling in this moment?
Speaker A
Fra is wanting above anything to save her friends and she sees them keep trying to fight and she wants to take Tazmir's attention and put it on her as much as possible.
Speaker A
Okay. Well, uh, you could put yourself between Bear and Tasmir. You could uh help flank with Nev. It's It's tough. It's tough.
Speaker A
Um how close is she to Tasmir right now? Uh you are perhaps 10 ft away.
Speaker A
Okay. So, um then I think that'll be my my moves. I'm going to move into melee range of him and then I'm going to attack him with my side sword.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah, absolutely. That is a 15 to hit. A 15 does hit. Yeah, please roll uh damage.
Speaker A
I can't read this. D6. Oh, eight points of Keen damage. Eight points of Keen. Yeah, you see the scrape of of of steel on on steel, the the the metal deflecting a large amount of the blow, but you do draw blood
Speaker A
now. We move to their fast turn and Oh, hold on. Still me. Oh, yeah. Sorry. Right, right, right, right right right right.
Speaker A
And if I'm taking a fast turn, I would go before them. Oh, no. I mean, no, no, never mind. I'm doing slow. Sorry.
Speaker A
Right. I have to spend the investature to heal, which is not a lot. Um, and then I am going to spend my whole turn breathing Stormlight from my pouch.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah, certainly. And that's my turn. Tasmir looks down at Nev and whirls around at FRA and he's in that blood stance, that aggressive, horrifying stance, and it's not logical.
Speaker A
It doesn't track that he should want this. But he draws back his elbow with the sword blade or with the shard blade and he goes to lunge it into Berlar.
Speaker A
I mean, I'll spend the focus to try and dodge. So, maybe he's down to a regular instead of with advantage.
Speaker A
You spend the focus. You roll onto your side. You give him that disadvantage. Uh, I want to aid somehow. Uh, that's really good. Um, the first roll was a nat 20.
Speaker A
The next roll was a three. The strike does not land. He lets out a roar as his shard blade cuts a massive run in the stone of the street.
Speaker A
He should still technically be the first roll should have been the one that counts the natural 20 because he has advantage cuz I'm prone.
Speaker A
Right. Right. So the natural 20 is the one. So God, I hate that. There are few things that can stop a shard blade.
Speaker A
And it's really other shard blades, shard plate, newly minted half shards, and you're all panicking.
Speaker A
Yeah, go ahead. Does he move away from me to make that strike? No, because shard blades have reach.
Speaker A
Okay. and FRA. You hear in the back of your head the voice of frame.
Speaker A
It's time. It's time. It's time. It's now. It is now. Now. I you. The words don't matter. The words don't matter.
Speaker A
Use me. He'll die. And you feel this pressure in your body, this want. And he says that the words don't matter, but they do need to be spoken.
Speaker A
And you feel sweat running down your brow, blood running down your leg. And you see in this moment of crystalline focus, the shard blade almost in a slowed sense of motion.
Speaker A
You need an implement. What do you do? Fra, it's like all the fear that she's had in this fight so far slowly evaporates from her body. Um, and it's like everything slows and she's feels calm in that one moment. And she responds to
Speaker A
frame, I will become what you see in me. And she's going to brace herself and straighten up and shoulders back like she's at attention and facing Tazmir.
Speaker A
And she's going to say, "Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. There is a non wave of force that comes off of FRA as frost coaleses along the ground.
Speaker A
This symbol of a long dead order of radiance forming on the ground. Fra standing in the middle of it and to the shock of everyone else present.
Speaker A
FRA, you hit one of those well practiced kata that you have seen done on the battlefield so many times. All of those nights that you spent training under the cover of secrecy and a jet black blade with a slick of
Speaker A
pearlescent light corsating off of it forms in your hand, catching the descending shard blade of Tasmir.
Speaker A
It's about storming time. Tasmir reflexively backs up, fear painted on his face. And should you wish, you will gain a reactive strike.
Speaker A
100%. 100%. Can I also do that? Nev will absolutely also do that. You will both gain advantage.
Speaker A
The thrill bleeds from this man. Right. I don't hit 14. He is no longer in a stance or sorry he is in blood stance. You even with advantage you don't oh blood advantage and he has negative -2 to his uh to his
Speaker A
physical defense. His physical defense is 13 right. I rolled a total of I rolled a total of 14 atage you strike.
Speaker A
So then I guess I do strike him. Yeah. Yes. Uh four plus four. Hey, that's a total of eight damage I rolled max on that one.
Speaker A
Eight keen damage. And what did fear roll? 17 to hit. Your weapon will deal 2d6 damage plus your strength bonus.
Speaker A
And that's eight points of spirit damage. Eight points, which goes directly past and I need to roll for an injury on this man.
Speaker A
All right. uh I have rolled a natural one. So if you take into account the fact that he has taken injuries already in this combat, he has rolled a technical zero.
Speaker A
The thing that happens when you roll a zero on the injury chart is very simple.
Speaker A
You die. Fra, would you like to describe how your shard blade takes this man's life?
Speaker A
Oo, she's going to The way she swings her shard blade is so precise. It's so practiced. It's so trained, even though she's never held one before. Um, so it's just it's clean. It's just one clean cut downwards through through him.
Speaker A
Um, she knows exactly where to hit from doesn't know how strong it's going to be but the blade.
Speaker A
Blades do far more damage when they come down at an angle, a proper angle.
Speaker A
It cuts through the straps of his breastplate, through the clothing of his tunic, through shoulder blade, through clavicle, through pectoral, through heart and spine and rib and hip.
Speaker A
There is a sputtering gasp as what is left of his respiratory system takes its last very stilted breath. His eyes go wide.
Speaker A
His light green eyes turn to smoky black. literal gases escaping as he crumples to the ground.
Speaker A
Dead. And folks, that's where we're going to take our human break. We'll finish up the rest of this combat when we come back.
Speaker A
I hope you're all enjoying the show. Uh that was a uh that was a fun first half.
Speaker A
We'll uh we'll catch you on the flip side. Um, we'll be back in 10 minutes.
Speaker A
Um, as always, tell your mom, tell your dad, tell your sister, tell your brother, tell your neighbor, tell your garbage collector, tell your, uh, local congressperson. Uh, that Anotherworld tabletop is live at www.
Speaker A
twitch.tv/anworldtabletop telling cosmir stories. Are you going to speak the words? Cuz that's what we do here. See you all in 10. Bye-bye. We're back. Did you tell your dogs that we love them? I hope so.
Speaker A
I sure hope so. Did you tell your dog to speak the words? I also hope so. Um, join the Discord today and uh tell us what radiant path you think your dog would be.
Speaker A
Um, take the quiz for your dog. Yes. 100. Take the quiz for your dog.
Speaker A
Uh, Wyatt uh Wyatt is a uh runner. Windr runner. 1 million%. Yeah. 1 million%. It's literally not a question.
Speaker A
A big doof. Yeah, he's a doofy man. He's a doofy man. Um, I'd say edge uh I'd say edge dancer, but that means he'd have to be coordinated, and that's never happening. Nope.
Speaker A
No, not at all. He'd love to heal people. He would love that. We have Yeah, we have we have the clumsiest dog on the planet everybody.
Speaker A
Yeah, he's a he's a clumsy man. Um, we take the wind or take the the radiant uh test for your pets today. Um, so we are going to return in the heat of the action.
Speaker A
Tasmir has been slain and there is truly only one uh uh there are it it is now the enemy's turn. Uh the ones that wanted to take fast actions which was going to be uh just the the spear wielders. Um, and then it
Speaker A
is going to be they they will see the smoking corpse of uh of Tasmir. And um like most rational individuals on the planet that uh see three heretical knights radiant uh cut down a shard bearer in the street. They run. They
Speaker A
sprint with as much haste as they can away from this fight. They panic. They shout. You see their eyes go wide. And the spear wielder that had apologized to Fra puts down his spear and sits his head hanging low
Speaker A
in the sewer tunnel. It is Olstrom's turn as the other was going to take a slow turn.
Speaker A
Um uh I'm going to take a I'm going to make another distracting illusion. Okay. Yeah.
Speaker A
And do did did we do you think we heard that hear that happen? What do what do what do you think we perceived of that?
Speaker A
I think it would be very much dependent on what you rolled for perception. I would ask for a perception rule to see exactly how much you could how much information that you could parse out of what you hear from above you.
Speaker A
Uh 15. You hear the shout of Tasmir and pain cut short. You hear footsteps running away.
Speaker A
Make of those two things as you will. then. Okay. Uh I I just look him in the eyes and I say, "Do you hear that?
Speaker A
It's just you and me. I'm not stuck here with you. You're stuck here with me.
Speaker A
And I want to breathe in stormlight that I uh probably have some spheres on myself. Breathe in a bunch of storm light so I'm glowing and just want to intimidate him.
Speaker A
I will ask for an intimidation. I got to throw this dice away. That is a I rolled that one. And so tell me what you rolled.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah. Nat 20, baby. Oh my god. A trained soldier will stand their ground. A trained soldier does not quail in the face of an enemy that they understand.
Speaker A
The shard blade drops out of this man's hand, turning into droplets of mist before disappearing entirely.
Speaker A
He turns around body halfway turned away from you and he just runs. You hear the hobnailed footsteps of the man hitting against the stone of the sewers fade off into the distance as he sprints away from you.
Speaker A
Run, you heretic. We can consider that as the end of initiative. Few points of order.
Speaker A
A crowd has seen what you have done. This was an open street with a night market aside it.
Speaker A
businesses that although in the dead of night hear the commotion hear the shouting and the clatter of steel on steel and looking on mouths a gape the citizens of colonar see this frosted pattern on the city street illuminated by sphere
Speaker A
lamps. Some kids are looking on with wonder, some adults looking on with shock. There are shocksprren, aprren, fierrren.
Speaker A
But above fira there are glory spread. One of the stall owners, someone who a few moments ago was frying crab meat on a stick, walks over, and he turns around and he looks at the crowd.
Speaker A
He's got a big belly, long beard, stern brow. Miss, we ain't seen nothing. Ain't that right? And he turns around and looks to the crowd. A few of them sort of like shy away.
Speaker A
Nev, you've seen this before. Yeah. The streets swallow secrets, especially when a light eyes is hunting down dark eyes.
Speaker A
You know that the whispered network of rumors and half-truths will spread this throughout the city.
Speaker A
and the reports of those lighteyed guardsmen will get back to their superiors. But it'll depend on all of you on how suppressed that becomes.
Speaker A
But here and now, no one's here to stop you. And this man that stands before you, this business owner seems to look around. We ain't seen nothing.
Speaker A
You should all be on your way. Let's go then. As I'm looking around to the crowd, uh, do I see any of my people?
Speaker A
I'm debating asking for a perception check. I think I I don't think I don't think you need it. I think there's a certain I think there's a certain familiarity between you and the network.
Speaker A
You look for the hidden spaces where you would post up. You look at the corners, the under the stalls, and you see you see Faren up on a rooftop. You see Dervin uh uh sitting underneath a stall eating up uh you know, kremling on a on
Speaker A
a stick. You see, uh a a Charlie, they used the opportunity to steal food while the fight Oh, 100%. Yeah, that's exactly what Deran did. Uh you see Trim her standing uh you know um half obfuscated by a pile
Speaker A
of boxes. Um there's there's like quite a few of the network here. Uh it seems as if they didn't really trust you going off to see Tonavir. And you see Faren up on that rooftop with a fully cocked
Speaker A
crossbow. Yeah, I'm not surprised. Yeah, he was waiting for things to go south and then um apparently Berdelar being, you know, his legs cut out from under him wasn't dire enough. Uh uh speaking of beardar kips up from the
Speaker A
ground landing on both feet like nothing happened. Can somebody help me out? F is already there.
Speaker A
F is already there because she's like her order of operations is like she knew that he was in a hole with the shard bear so she she was already trying to get him.
Speaker A
I love that. Uh the crowd starts to disperse. A few looks sort of uh hanging around and and uh you know acting like they're not looking but very much you know like watching um interested uh as to what
Speaker A
exactly went on. you know, the chaos of the fight happen like that that the entire combat uh took right around a minute and a half uh maybe tops if we play around with like the 10 heartbeats uh uh indicator of time. Um, so it's
Speaker A
it's you know, as fast as it happened, everyone dispersed and Faren uh hops down from the uh uh hops down from the rooftop and with a crossbow cocked, he starts he starts like coring people away. He's like, "No,
Speaker A
no, no time to look. Get out of here." You know, piss off. Yeah, it's Nev the knife. [ __ ] off. You hear a lot of that.
Speaker A
Um Yeah. Yeah. No, they're a hero now. Yeah. Absolutely. Spread the word. Spread the word. Heroic. Tasmir was a serial killer. Shut up. That's what you heard. That's what you saw. Uh pushing that agenda immediately. Um Oh no.
Speaker A
Whether whether or not Yeah. No. Yeah. And the red head. That red head. Yeah.
Speaker A
That's Faniel, hero of colonar. You move. You get moving. Get moving. Yeah. Shard bearer. Move it. And like that's, you know, um and here's the wildest thing. As you're all collecting yourselves for Annaniel, you hold out your hand for Alstrom. Alstrom, you take
Speaker A
the hand and you move up and the two of you lock eyes. Here's a question for you for Aniel.
Speaker A
What is the color of your light eyes? It's like a bright green. A very brilliant green.
Speaker A
color has overtaken your eyes in the aftermath of summoning your shard blade, which I'll remind you is still in your hand. And you hear inside of your head instead of behind your ear or on the back of your neck where frame may have
Speaker A
gone. You hear inside of your head. I'm proud. You did well. And then the shard blade fades away.
Speaker A
Is going to continue helping Austramm up. Wait a second. What's happened to your eyes?
Speaker A
We can talk more when we get out of here. Are you safe? Are you hurt?
Speaker A
Yeah, I'm good. As is like all of his clothes are ripped on his shoulder and like that part of his vest is missing.
Speaker A
I'm good. What happened to him? Like you're probably like your pants are ripped. Your hair is missing a missing a pant leg.
Speaker A
Huge gash in the clothes of his abdomen. Oh. Um, you know, barf fighter, whatever.
Speaker A
Nice. Uh, Barelar is going to uh go to Tasmir and go through every pocket, like look under the armor. If there's anything on him, he's taken it.
Speaker A
There's a sphere pouch with about 50 marks in it. Nothing too terribly substantial. You see a badge of office um indicating that he is an agent of uh Lord Amaram uh of Bright Lord Amaram and uh you find uh well
Speaker A
his shard blade uh the gemstone that would uh allow you or anyone to align themselves with a shard blade um on him.
Speaker A
And but that's a dangerous thing to take. Um I don't know exactly if you would.
Speaker A
Uh yeah, Barlar would take a shard blade for sure. Okay. you find a set of notes um which are pretty uh well established uh dossier on each of you. Um it has information on Ferranial uh where she lives, what barracks that she's in.
Speaker A
It has uh her connection. There's there's a there's a small circle um of her name on one of the pages that is her and then you have Barin. Uh then you have uh uh um um uh Vitilar. Um these these names uh
Speaker A
attached with question marks. Um um some notation on who who to question about uh Fra and her connections to individuals.
Speaker A
Um and then uh underneath her name reads Dawnchant. Um there is uh notes on Navali. Um member of the Phantom Dreer, Ghost Bloods, question mark. Uh uh Tonavir, merchant.
Speaker A
Thalen, dangerous. Uh there is um cut there's the name Cutter. uh found dead uh body kept in and then you see a a location uh one of the warehouses of the light eyes in the uh the religious district. Um you
Speaker A
uh see Alolstrm, Olstrom, Alshir, uh Heretic, can read uh uh um Art of Fabrian. Um you know, uh strange geometric patterns seem following Alolstrm. Um and then there's the note on you, uh Berdelar, and then it lists your entire family's names.
Speaker A
You also notice the name Rave holds Berdlar's debt leverage as necessary. Rave is owned by and then you see the page ripped out.
Speaker A
Uh you then in the most unsettling turn of events, but not the most surprising, you see a tattoo upon uh upon Tasmir. It is uh in a rather scandalous location uh just above the groin on the left hand
Speaker A
side like upon the upon his pelvis. It is the a tattoo uh of the symbol of the sons of honor.
Speaker A
That is what you find upon him. Bear, we should get going before the guard comes.
Speaker A
Yeah. Oh, for sure. Is that other guy still here? He's sitting. The one that just sat down.
Speaker A
His head is hung low and when you actually take the time to notice and pay attention, he's quietly weeping.
Speaker A
Um, I think when you point that out, Nev like just wasn't Nev knew he was there but wasn't like paying that much attention. Goes over to the guy.
Speaker A
You don't work for the Suns, do you? Who? He like looks up, eyes rimmed red.
Speaker A
What's your name? I'm Tilden. Tilden, you didn't see anything tonight, did you? It doesn't matter.
Speaker A
Why not? You're going to kill my brother. Berdelar hears that and is there. What do you mean? They who?
Speaker A
Tasmir's men. Where is your brother? If you get knocked out, they can't blame you, can they?
Speaker A
Doesn't matter. Tasmir's dead. Gilden, listen to me. Where is your brother? He's at um he's at Tasmir's estate.
Speaker A
It's brother. Keep it up. Okay. Storm it. Okay. Somebody Somebody get rid of this thing. Bear points to Tasmir's body.
Speaker A
I've got to go save this idiot's brother. You're not going to his estate by yourself.
Speaker A
I'm not. Tasmir is. Huh? Wait, what? Just Nev just has a question mark over her head like what?
Speaker A
Balar looks at Alstrom. Yeah. Gotcha. All right. And then I just grab Tazmir and throw him in the hole.
Speaker A
Uh, get rid of the body. Faren stops you. I don't fella. They're going to look in that hole. That's going to be pretty well the first thing they do. How about um And he looks around.
Speaker A
I mean, this ain't going to be the first time I've had to hide a body.
Speaker A
I mean, that wasn't trying to hide it. Just, you know, make it take a little longer.
Speaker A
I've had to get rid of a body. Like, this will be the second one in 48 hours, so just let me handle this one. Hey, you got it.
Speaker A
Yeah. I think I fell a nod. You good with this? Yeah. All right. The kid's huge. 17 years old, and you know, he's like 6'11. Uh he throws the body over his shoulder. Uh he says, "Oh god, was he made out of
Speaker A
rocks?" And then starts trumping uh uh over to a one of the market stalls where he uh stares at the owner into giving him a bolt of linen uh and then wraps it up and takes it and he's just like, "Ah,
Speaker A
yes, my carpet." And then walks off. Excellent. That's my boy. never looks to bear.
Speaker A
Whatever you think you're doing, good luck, I guess. I mean, if you guys want to come and hang out around, I'm not going to stop you. But I don't know if we can all go in there.
Speaker A
You want to go to his estate as him? How do we know his soldiers haven't just arrived there?
Speaker A
Okay, tell them where's uh the rest of them. Where'd they go? I don't know.
Speaker A
Do you know them? I mean, kind of. We're all wall guards. So, they're not his men.
Speaker A
No. As far as I know, Tasmir doesn't have men. He has people that he intimidates and he has staff and he has mercenaries, but he doesn't have men.
Speaker A
Too fresh. Okay. Where did you come from? Like did you all like meet at his estate and then come here? Did he grab you from your guard post?
Speaker A
He invited us. Did you get like sandwiches beforehand? No. No sandwiches. We were invited to volunteer for guard duty at a light eyes estate.
Speaker A
We thought it would be a nice little break. And my brother, he's a wall guard, too.
Speaker A
So, he took him as collateral so that I wouldn't ask questions after he killed you.
Speaker A
You were never So, you've been there before? Yeah, I've been there. I know where I can What are you going to do?
Speaker A
Is there an alley or a dark shadowy corner anywhere? Uh, yeah, absolutely. Great. I'm about to show you something that is going to blow your storming mind. That's what I'm going to do.
Speaker A
Uh, Bear dips into the corner and comes out as Tasmir. The man looks at you. What is going on?
Speaker A
Who are you people? Now take me to my estate, Tilden, if you want your brother to live.
Speaker A
His mouth goes a gape. I I He looks to Fra. The correct response is sir. Yes, sir.
Speaker A
I What? Yes sir. Bright Lord. Brighter Lord. Yes. Yes. Bright Lord. Of course. I God.
Speaker A
Um I'm going to We're going to We'll see. Hold on. I'm rolling a discipline for this man.
Speaker A
Let's see if he can hold it together. Okay. So he's like I you can I'm Let's follow me and wonderful. He starts walking off.
Speaker A
Bear's going to reach out to bear slash illusion bear and just stop you for a second.
Speaker A
Are you Are you sure you're okay? I I can don't want any more blood on my hands.
Speaker A
Like you were gravely injured. Are you sure? You want me to follow rooftops? I'm fine.
Speaker A
Yes, Navali. Yes. All right. Thank you for your concern. Um, little dark eyed girl. I mean, wait a minute.
Speaker A
Uh, sorry, Brightness. You have very pretty eyes. As you walk, you see the shame sprin uh starting to float around uh this man.
Speaker A
Shame and exhaustion spring around him. And eventually you are led to Tasmir's hold. a small estate with a low wall that surrounds it, maybe waist height, nothing to entirely uh nothing to entirely uh keep anyone out.
Speaker A
Um, and you see a single uh lighteyed guard uh standing outside uh at the door.
Speaker A
Ah, yes. Uh uh break lord Tasmir, you return. Uh, everything is as you had it.
Speaker A
I presume you would like me to make arrangements inside. And he like puts his hand to the door.
Speaker A
My business for the night is taken care of. Please do so. He opens the door and he holds it open for all of you. Uh, anyone that would be uh going inside.
Speaker A
I'm assuming Tilden. Uh uh Tasmir and I guess that'd be it. Um and you two walk inside.
Speaker A
In the main foyer of this house, you see a horrifying sight. There's a chandelier of sphere lights hanging from the ceiling.
Speaker A
Two separate staircases uh going up to the second floor. And in the center of the room, there is a circle of blindfolded men, hands bound behind their backs, with a man pacing, blade in hand.
Speaker A
Anticipation sprin floating around his head. Is this a word? Is they got away? Does I put them in now?
Speaker A
Eve your blade, you buffoon. What you mean? Put your sword away. He starts to sheath his blade. But you said these ones ain't supposed to ever goes away.
Speaker A
They die here tonight. And that's all there is to it. They ain't supposed to know them and the ones you What?
Speaker A
That is what I said and what I'm saying now. She your blade. I need to speak with them privately.
Speaker A
Little like puts the blade away. Can I please get a deception? Yeah. Uh, could I raise the stakes on this one? This feels I would say that was a that would be a good idea.
Speaker A
Only happening from across the way. I'm posted up on the rooftop across the way.
Speaker A
I would say absolutely you can see what's going on. You're looking in through the big high open windows of the uh of this estate. Um, you know, um, you have a you have a should you need to straight line in through the window.
Speaker A
Perfect. I also have my short bow out just in case. Perfect. Perfect. Natural 20 for a total of 24.
Speaker A
Uh, what was on the opportunity? Blank. Blank. Okay. Well, yeah. Fine. I'll put it away. But what what's uh what's he going to say after all this when he's still alive?
Speaker A
I didn't say that. that I was going to let them live. I said I needed to talk to them privately. And what he says is none of your business.
Speaker A
What? Well, yeah. All right. It's fine, I guess. It's just like it's all weird.
Speaker A
Where's Where do you want me to go if not here? Anywhere that isn't this room, you [ __ ] So, was like the kitchen?
Speaker A
Yes, the kitchen. Can Can I grab Can I grab like a snack? Yes. Can I have some of the good wine been standing?
Speaker A
I will kill you myself if you do not leave this room. Yeah. What? And then he like walks off into what you presume to be the kitchen.
Speaker A
Um, leaving you, half a dozen men, and and Tilden alone in the foyer. Now, Tilden, I really couldn't be bothered, but which of these is your brother?
Speaker A
He points to one of the men, a man with dark hair, uh, blonde streaks going through it, a broad shouldered man.
Speaker A
takes the blindfold off of him and crouches down low. Don't He's got a gag in his mouth.
Speaker A
Pulls the gag out. What did you hear? What do you What do you What do you mean while you've been here? What have you heard?
Speaker A
Bootsteps. Um I I heard voices. I And what did those voices say? They um And he like looks to his brother. He's like, "Tild, you're" and then he looks back to you. "Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me.
Speaker A
Talk to me. Talk to me." Um the the the the big one, the with the sword. He he said a bunch of stuff about how he he couldn't wait for the night to be over.
Speaker A
Um that he was he was tired of of being bossed around. Uh the the other fellow uh he me he mentioned uh the he mentioned the the the the thief the thief that you that you y'all were talking about um that her her
Speaker A
mentor's dad and then we and that they have the body. Um there's something about that that that merchant. They said something about a merchant. Um, and they mentioned that they they mentioned the Herdazzian detective.
Speaker A
Uh, uh, something something about being close. Something about I don't know. I I don't know.
Speaker A
Not much else. They It was quiet. It was in the other room. Okay. Thank you. Uh, and then uh, Bear will go over to the next one. Take off the blindfold. Take out the gag.
Speaker A
Now, what did you hear? Well, I heard pretty pretty well the same thing. It was it was well, it was those two fellas.
Speaker A
They was talking about um how they were going to go and re reconvene uh outside the city uh past the the farthest windb blade and that it was you know that that they would they had to go to ground for a little bit is what
Speaker A
I heard uh by lord they said that it was it was time for a little bit of a of a reconer since the you know since the the how they out the storms did I say it. Uh, it was
Speaker A
something about how things were progressing too quick with with the the the oh some of the enemies in the city.
Speaker A
Something about they were they was talking about the Hudasian fella and and that uh and and and the the storming ne the knife.
Speaker A
Thanks man. Uh, and he's uh he's going to stand up straight. Uh, he's going to walk behind this man. He's going to cut the bonds.
Speaker A
Is it uh is it manicles or is it like rope? Cut the Yeah, cut the bonds on this guy and on Tildon's brother.
Speaker A
Yeah. And why are you here again? You the Herdazzian fellow. I was um where I was I'm a member of the wall guard by lord.
Speaker A
Yes. So I was I was told that I I you know I I had to I was I was I signed up for this thing and then they said well they said they tricked me is what happened. I was
Speaker A
supposed to be earning money for the family and they said, you know, you can earn big time if you come in here. And then I took the job and then now they use me as collateral or something something or the other. I'm not sure.
Speaker A
Uh Bear is going to give him a knife, put it in his hand. He's going to go over to Tildon's brother and give him his staff, like his his walking stick.
Speaker A
What are these for, my lord? The big fellow who was walking around with a sword.
Speaker A
I'm going to gut him. And if things go poorly, I'd like to have somebody here on my side.
Speaker A
You know, have my back. I don't Why? Why? At least if things come to that, I want you to take a moment to unband bandage to unbond everyone here in this room.
Speaker A
Okay. Um, yeah, I could do that. There's one guard outside. I think between the two of you, the three of you with Tilden, armed, and the rest of you, I assume, are all soldiers as well. At least some of you, then you
Speaker A
should manage. Well, let me out the window. Let me go get the guards. Let me go to get the rest of them. Let me get my cousins.
Speaker A
Trust me, we'll storm this place and leave not a fellow alive. That's it. That's all.
Speaker A
No storming. No storming. No storming. No storming. Yeah. All right. Get the rest of these people safe.
Speaker A
What's your name? My name's Vina. Have I Do I Am I familiar with this guy at all?
Speaker A
Uh, probably not. that you don't associate with like typical wall guards on uh you know, you don't you don't patrol the wall. You're far more internal. He's just a he's he's a rank and file. Vinner is essentially a kind
Speaker A
of a nobody. Cool. As far as I can tell, yeah, take the one guard outside. Try not to get yourself hurt. You know what? I don't think I'm going to need I don't think I'm going to need your help with
Speaker A
the big guy. I think I'll manage. You sure? Right. Lord, what what's with the what's what's with the change of heart?
Speaker A
You was you was here earlier. You were saying all sorts of mean things. Something changed.
Speaker A
Okay. Something You know what, Vinner? The world is changing and so am I. Yeah. All right.
Speaker A
Okay. I'm probably going to have to disappear after this. So, if anybody's asking, it's because I ran.
Speaker A
I ran like a tiny little Kremling. Like a Kremling. Like a little tiny Kremling. You know what the rest of you? And he start Bear's going to go around taking the blindfolds off everybody. If anybody asks, I ran like a tiny little Kremling.
Speaker A
me. Bright Lord Tasmir ran like a little Kremling. Like a little like a little Kremling. Yeah. Like a Kremling. Yeah.
Speaker A
No. No. Yeah. Like a Oh, yeah. You all saw this, right? It's me. It's me. The The one who held you captive, threatened your lives, and then ran.
Speaker A
Did you? And Vinner looks to you. Did you Did you kill them? That that thalen fella and you know and knife and and you know my cousin and the the the the pretty officer lady. Did you kill all
Speaker A
them? No, they almost killed me, which is why I had to run like a little Kremling.
Speaker A
Tilden was there. He could tell you, right Tilden? Yeah, it's it's true. He He ran like a Kremling.
Speaker A
I had to chase him down here to bring him to task for what he did to you is what happened. I I'm holding him accountable by bringing him here because he's such a coward.
Speaker A
I think Bear is going to try and do something. Yeah, Bear is going to try and Bear is going to tap in his tap into his own feelings and is going to try and conjure some shame spread cuz there is a lot of stuff
Speaker A
that he genuinely feels ashamed about. Okay. Yeah. Give me a That feels like discipline.
Speaker A
That feels very much like discipline. That is control of emotions in a very regulated way.
Speaker A
This is a natural word. Oh, okay. You bring to mind all of these foul memories of yours.
Speaker A
Moments of tribulation, trauma horror moments that you regret. You start tallying through these things and then you know you get to the you know how sometimes you get a thought in your head and you just can't get it
Speaker A
out. It's like somebody walks into a room and it's like, "Hey, don't think about elephants, right?" And then what are you thinking about? And you try to call to mind like the most shameful thing that you can think of.
Speaker A
And with an NAT one, I think it stands to reason that the most shameful thing that you can think of is there the only thing that comes to mind is you you're thinking about that walk of shame one
Speaker A
night uh coming home from that that pretty bar mates at the at the uh the Spark Flicker and you were trying so hard to to you know make her like you and then she took you home and you
Speaker A
didn't last too long and it was It was a little bit it was a little bit of a of of a harsh evening and you know and she told her friends and then it was just embarrassing. So rather than shamesprren
Speaker A
there's like a mixture of uh passion uh and uh embarrassment. um as you recall that very distinct night and um Tilden looks over and he sees the the friend floating around his head and he's like, "Oh, as as you can see, um our good Bright
Speaker A
Lord Tasmir. Uh I am not sexually attracted to getting beaten up. That is not a thing. Yes, definitely don't tell anyone that either.
Speaker A
Yes, his his sexual impropriy in regards to degradation and and cowardice is greatly exaggerated. Uh, don't tell anyone that.
Speaker A
Okay, you're all free. Go kick that god's ass and go back to your families.
Speaker A
Uh Tilden looks to his brother and then takes his spear, says, "We're going to go and make this right." Tilton says, "I'm going to take something from this man that he's never going to get back." And the Herdasian cousin of yours, uh,
Speaker A
Vinner says, "I'm going to shove this staff right up his [ __ ] [ __ ] Haha. And then walks into the kitchen and you hear almost comedic sounds of clattering and booming and banging and shouting and pain. Um,
Speaker A
what do you do? Okay. Don't kill him. Don't don't don't kill him. No, I'm just going to make sure he never walks right again.
Speaker A
That's great. Great. Don't kill him. You know what? You guys do that here. here.
Speaker A
And there's going to toss some manacles into the room. Just tie them up when you're done. Tie them to like a chair or a table or something. Um, I'll be right back.
Speaker A
Oh, now my cousin wants us to tie him up. All right, I see how it is. Tasmir, you freak. And we'll sort of fade back on this uh uh on this. I assume beard are bear's in the window waving to his
Speaker A
companions being like help me. Nev's like laughing sitting a little bit sitting on top of a roof taking a swig of uh totally watching all of this.
Speaker A
I don't know if anybody else followed, but I know Nev did. Points to the guard.
Speaker A
Punches. You're muted, bestie. Yeah. Uh, Neb, is he okay? Keep it down. Yeah, he's fine.
Speaker A
He emotes through the window. So, how would we like this to proceed? Uh, are you genuinely like trying to motion Nev to come help?
Speaker A
Okay. Uh, Nev's gonna Nev's kind of chuckling. Comes down. You know, I'm not great at reading lips, but I caught a few birds in there, and uh we're gonna have a lot to laugh about later.
Speaker A
Let's go in. Oh, yeah. Opens the door, looks to the guard. Um, these people have had a change of heart, and they're going to be helping us accomplish our goals moving forwards. They are welcoming at any time. Am I understood?
Speaker A
Very good. I'm in dark eyed people. Nev just kind of like what? All right.
Speaker A
Definitely does like the the face covering thing so the guard doesn't recognize her face.
Speaker A
chances of her being known are as high. So you convene within this building. The swordsmen uh has been successfully strapped down to a table. Um the halfozen individuals and Tilden uh have gathered back in the foyer, having dragged that table in behind them. The
Speaker A
man is blindfolded and gagged and bruised and blood leaking out of his mouth and nose and uh all that fantastic simply fantastic work everyone. Um again terribly sorry for all the inconvenience you suffered um by the hands of Bright Lord Tasmir.
Speaker A
That's me. Great Bright Lord, use yours name is uh Tasmir. That's what I said. That's what I said.
Speaker A
That is Yeah, that's what you said. Okay, I'm I'm going to trust you all to not freak out.
Speaker A
Things are getting weird. I just saved your lives, so don't freak out when I do what I'm about to do.
Speaker A
Romeo persuasion. Raise the stakes. Okay. Good. Good. Uh okay. You're revealing your your 19 with what?
Speaker A
Uh, 19 in a blank. 19 in a blank. Yeah. You are revealing yourself to a collection of individuals that don't very likely don't know what a radiant is in in in, you know, in truth.
Speaker A
Uhhuh. So please, there's a part of me that really trusts these guys. Okay. And drops the illusion.
Speaker A
Fire 10 fools. What? You hear one of them. It's like by the passions. What is this?
Speaker A
What are you? My name cousin bear. My name. You see you hear verar. My name is Bar Jura and I am a night radiant.
Speaker A
Wait. So what? I don't know. You see some of them like look See some of them like look like a gasast. Uh Tilden sort of like eyes go to the ground. Um, Tildon's brother uh looks looks you over and and is in awe.
Speaker A
You see a Sprren shock sprin and then above uh above one the one who said by the passions you see glory Sprren these this like this this amazement this this sort of like revalry in in uh in the
Speaker A
fact that you've revealed this thing. Um, and then your cousin, uh, you see, uh, a singular sputtering pin wheel of doubt spread.
Speaker A
Who cares? So, was your night radian? Yeah. All right. Nice little disguise. That was a nice trick. Your magician. Oh, that's nice.
Speaker A
Okay, Mont. You know what? You were about to die. I was about to die, but then I didn't.
Speaker A
There's there's like a bunch of sphere lamps in here, right? Totally. I'm going to breathe in storm light so that I'm glowing.
Speaker A
What he says is true. Oh, that storman sucks. I was just talking a lot of smack about my cousin there. And then it's that one's a pretty hard one to say that it's not what it looks like. Right. Where's shard blades?
Speaker A
Where's your shard blades in the plate and all the stuff that they say in the books? Huh? Where does that say? Uh bear just looks to Fra.
Speaker A
He says them in so in stories. He says them says them all. H Fra is just what?
Speaker A
What do you mean? What? Summon your blade. Yeah, summon your blade. There's no reason to at the moment.
Speaker A
There's no threat. a likely story. The reason is to a little bit people just be a dick for the reason is to show these people that we are real and we are here and that we can make change happen.
Speaker A
Uh show them. Tilden and his brother were like are are both like we do believe you. It's just him.
Speaker A
Okay. Okay, cousin. I Here's the thing. You're an idiot. I see that. Okay. Well, yeah. I'm your cousin.
Speaker A
Yeah. No, we're all cousins. So nobody what matters is that things are about to change and bad things are happening and bad people like this dumb dummy head and the other guy and who put you all here.
Speaker A
We are here to deal with them. We're here to get rid of them. We're here to make this place better. And it would be nice if maybe moving forwards you would be perhaps interested in letting us know what you know. see here
Speaker A
up on the wall. He looks around and you notice that they are all still wearing their uniforms, if not their armor and weapons. Uh, and you see uh two of the triangular chevrons um on the shoulders of the Herdazzian man
Speaker A
um denoting that he's actually a corporal uh within the the wall guard. uh the leader of a of a lance. Um uh somebody that actually has a bit of training and has seen battle. Uh and he looks to you and he says,
Speaker A
"Listen, we wolves go hard, right? Like we we've been protecting Colon for a while now.
Speaker A
And I know who you are. And I I sure as the the as sure as damn nation and the heralds above and tranquil halls and all them storming things. I sure as hell know who Nev the Knife is.
Speaker A
And I know Fanniel. Everybody on the wall guards heard of Fanniel at this point.
Speaker A
Tiel's favorite. Yes, Captain Tiel. And before him, Barin little, you know, little pocket sphere shining brighter than the rest of us, right? We've all heard of her.
Speaker A
I don't know who this schmuck is. And he points to HR. But I'll tell you one thing. I mean, he's a genius. Anyway, keep going.
Speaker A
Well, I'll take literally anyone else's judgment on it. But the reality is that I just had a honest to the fools agent of Lord Emarramm, a colonel in the armies of the Shadow Plains, walk into our guard detachment,
Speaker A
kidnap us in the middle of the night. and he was going to slit our throats.
Speaker A
Ain't that right? And he shoves an elbow into the into the ribs of the man on the table and use us as collateral so he could get other people to do his dirty work and then kill them too.
Speaker A
And for what? to get one up on a bunch of uh you know wannabe heretics.
Speaker A
Well, I'll tell you this. As far as me and mine are concerned, my boys follow orders and not because of coercion or collateral or threats or subversion or violence or anything like that, but it's because we serve together. We love each
Speaker A
other and we actually respect one another. So, I'll tell you right now, the man who walks in here and saves all our lives, we owe a debt.
Speaker A
And I don't care if you're a thief or heretic or my cousin. We owe you.
Speaker A
So, yeah, we's going to work with you. Ain't that right, boys? And you hear like a sort of smattering of Yeah. No, of course. Yeah.
Speaker A
Absolutely. No. No. Totally. Yeah. And it's like on honor's word. By the almighty, we're we're here with you.
Speaker A
So, what do you need from us? I need your eyes. I guess I need you to watch and listen and if anything like this pops up, I need you to give word to me or one of us.
Speaker A
I don't know. And then maybe I can let you know when things change and I might need more than just your eyes and your ears.
Speaker A
Yeah. Yeah. All right. Yeah, we've got your back. That's the way it is. Okay, we serve out of the northwestern detachment. You can catch us near the city gate most days. And I got to say, we ain't reporting a single word of
Speaker A
this. All we know is that Tasm is gone. He ran like a fool because he went and he tried to apprehend some folks and that's all she wrote.
Speaker A
Failed. ran run off because of sexual impropriy. That's why Nev Nev can't help but laugh even though she's wildly uncomfortable cuz she's in a room full of guards.
Speaker A
Pink can change him right out of the city is what I'm telling everybody. No, that's great. You know, that's what I heard, too.
Speaker A
That's what I heard. That's what my cousin told me. Okay, you'all better get out of here cuz what I'm about to do to this guy is not going to be pretty.
Speaker A
You know, you got to let him go, right? You can't kill this man. I'm not going to kill him, but I do have some questions for him.
Speaker A
Yeah. All right. Well, I think to be honest, at this point, the less we know, the better. And I'm going to go and have a stiff drink with the lads. And then he's going to probably show up for work
Speaker A
in the morning and be rather messed up about it. I have one for me.
Speaker A
Yeah, I have three for you, Nev. I've been trying to catch your ass for a long time. I guess we're working together now. How life goes.
Speaker A
I guess the Tell the guy at the go door to go with you. Guy at the door. What? The other gu the other guardsman. Hey. Well, no. What I'm going to do is I'm going to grab that man and I'm going to take him well
Speaker A
to meet the Almighty in all in all truth. He's I mean, if that's what you're into, that's okay.
Speaker A
No, it's not. Listen, that's Tasmir. Uh, no, it's Yeah. Um, we're going to we're going to have words. I think he's largely out of the loop. He was just told to stand there.
Speaker A
He was probably going to be killed, too, if I'm honest. Yeah. And Bear is going to give 10 marks. I recompense for your troubles.
Speaker A
Why? Well, because Lord Tasmir pound you and gagged you all and this is his money. So, these are his fears. So, keep his money. I don't want your money.
Speaker A
In fact, I owe you a drink. That's how this works. Put it towards something that actually matters. You don't owe us nothing. Ain't that right, lads? And you you get like a bunch of nods of a scent.
Speaker A
Oh okay. Saved our lives, Mr. Jurro. Bright Lord. Oh, no. Don't do that. Just bear.
Speaker A
All right. And then they start filing out. Uh, Tilden is the last and he sticks around for just a second.
Speaker A
You could have killed me and would have had every right to do it. You and all of yours.
Speaker A
And he looks to Fra. I'm I'm sorry for that and he points to like the wound.
Speaker A
Um, if it ever comes down to it, I' tradition be damned. I' I'd serve under you any day.
Speaker A
And then he sort of like goes redfaced and you see some like a couple anxiety uh pop up around him and then he twists on a heel and walks out the door.
Speaker A
I think he likes you. I would like to melt into the shadows so I can go rob this [ __ ] blind. I want all of the spirits I can possibly get from this [ __ ] place.
Speaker A
All right, you get a you get a round. I got the I was going to say I get the I got the permission of the guard to rob this place. I'm [ __ ] robbing this place.
Speaker A
Oh, and check for secret doors and stuff, you know. I don't care about storming secret doors. Look at all this money.
Speaker A
Look at all these spears. Are there any cool fabriels? Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine.
Speaker A
You find three things of note in this place before we get to the interrogation of this poor man on the table. You find three things of note. One, a span read.
Speaker A
Two, you find 100 marks worth of spheres. A fairly substantial amount of money. Wait, just what I find? This is what I find.
Speaker A
Yeah, you're pilfering the house. This is what you find. Yeah, this is going to be total. Yeah.
Speaker A
Uh, this is a regular abode that seems to have been rented out for this purpose. This is not a permanent estate by any stretch of the imagination. This is like this is like a nice estate that is being uh uh rented by the Bright
Speaker A
Lord. Uh, and B and B. What's that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Air D and D. Um and then uh uh and then you also find a uh half shard.
Speaker A
You find a shield with a fabriel in the back of it. One of the one of the uh uh oft fabled half shards that are used to take a few blows from a uh shard blade.
Speaker A
Okay I I will uh reluctantly bring the loot because I have to share with people now.
Speaker A
Um 100 marks span raid. Uh this thing I don't know that Nev knows what a half I don't know that Nev has any concept of what that is.
Speaker A
You see a fabriel burn Yeah. You see a Fabriel built into the back of a shield and that's enough to like clue you in that it's something worth having.
Speaker A
What is this? Obligram's definitely heard of half shards. They are they are usually uh uh um spoken of in the circles that you frequent.
Speaker A
Um uh can I can I see it? Oh yeah. I've I've set everything down like bag of marks, span read, and the shield. I've set everything down on a different table than where the guy is strapped down.
Speaker A
Uh wave pours across the the the half shard wood. Fabriel gem like pick it up and look at it.
Speaker A
I think this might be it's a shield. Might be one of those half shards that I've heard about.
Speaker A
I haven't seen one. I've heard it described a few times. Um Alir might know better, but these are really rare.
Speaker A
Money. Wait. What's a They make Wait, isn't it just charred or no shard? There's half shards.
Speaker A
Yeah. Um Okay. They still can't like make a shard blade, but they've been they've been able to make things that can mimic it for a little bit or like strengthen like something to block a blow from a shard blade.
Speaker A
Oh, that's cool. But I I'd have to do some more testing to see exactly Well, you mean if you want to test it, put Finder keepers, right?
Speaker A
I'll still share the box with you. Uh, Jez, you have a shield. Jez flits to to Nev's shoulder.
Speaker A
Do you really need all this money? Is this is What are you doing? I got a lot of I got a lot of mounds to feed. I'm splitting it up. We get What is it? Uh 25 each.
Speaker A
So, what do you what you got to rob this place too? Yeah. Why? What do you do?
Speaker A
The guard said I could. And does that make it okay? Nev picks up the the the sphere pouch and is just like holding it. Yes.
Speaker A
You know you're going to have to break these bad habits eventually, right? What are you talking about? We need money to live.
Speaker A
You'll earn more than enough money, I'm sure, if you prove yourself to the city.
Speaker A
It doesn't look good to be a hero of the people robbing houses. Well, he's a bad guy. That should be free game, right?
Speaker A
No, that's not how that works. Absolutely not. And then he appears. He appears. Fear it. Tell them guards are good.
Speaker A
Robbing people is bad. I mean, I don't agree that guards are good, but you know, people think guards are good. And the guards said I could.
Speaker A
You're such a hypocrite, Nali. And he's a bad man. Nali, what? You are a hypocrite of the highest order.
Speaker A
Oh, now you listen to the guards. Yeah, that's how this works. Absolutely. You're being a little Kremlin and you know it.
Speaker A
Well, this argument is happening. Bear just flags over Fra. She's going to very easily escape this accusation and go over to bear uh in a very sudden uh uh blur of motion. Um you suddenly see standing behind Fra uh
Speaker A
Berlar. Fra you don't notice this. You don't feel this uh but you notice standing behind Fra is a uh uh 8- foot tall uh oil slick uh sheened uh stony plainfaced uh man with large uh shoulder pads um standing behind him.
Speaker A
Barelar pops himself up so he's sitting on the the dining room table. So, you saved my life today.
Speaker A
Yeah, I usually do the saving people, you know. It's okay. You don't owe me one.
Speaker A
No, I mean I do, but no, I just wanted to say um thank you.
Speaker A
I'm just glad you're okay. You know, for a second there, I was pretty sure I was done.
Speaker A
Um any points to Are you still you still wounded, right? You're still hurt. Yeah, I didn't do anything to heal myself or anything yet.
Speaker A
You um you're kind of he's you're leaking. Do you mind the fight? Uh and Bear just gently places his hand over where the wound is. Um and we'll use for the first time uh the surge of progression.
Speaker A
So cool. Uh, and I guess how many hit points are you down? 10. Uh, yeah, he'll he'll do it twice and you'll heal a full heal to full.
Speaker A
Oh, there. That's amazing. We could have done that. Yeah. You hear from behind you, Vera.
Speaker A
I mean, he's not wrong. You could have done that, but damn. Happy to help.
Speaker A
Thank you. Um, sorry, I've kind of been in shock since we left the courtyard. killed that guy.
Speaker A
Is it because of the death? Yes, it's because of the death and everything that just happened.
Speaker A
I am very welcome to have you as part of this conversation. Um, I really am, but I do think that possibly Fra might need to talk to somebody who has feelings on the emotional spectrum.
Speaker A
wise. It is likely good. But as a closing note before I return to a very small form, self-preservation is not a sin.
Speaker A
And then in the background, you just hear Nev go see ink guy gets it. turns tiny.
Speaker A
And thank you as he as he shrinks. Thank you, too. You saved my life, too.
Speaker A
Me? I was talking to the little guy, but also you. Yeah, I didn't do anything.
Speaker A
Okay. Um, are you okay? You killed a guy. You want to talk about that for a second?
Speaker A
Not really. Um or not yet. I don't know. Uh what are you doing with this man on the table? Oh, um I do have some ideas. I was hoping Olst and me could maybe tag team and you know he could use his pain
Speaker A
reel and I could heal him and then could use his pain reel. What if I just turn his shirt into stone?
Speaker A
We could try that. Yeah. No, just until he talks about whatever he's got in there. You know, in your ear, Berar, you hear Tila?
Speaker A
No torture. What are you doing? Why not? It is objectively evil. Okay, but he's a bad man, right? And we need to know what he knows. And we're not going to kill him. We just ask him.
Speaker A
Can we at least threaten him with torture? Coercion is fine. Don't torture people. Makes you as bad as them.
Speaker A
I'll think on that there. Okay. So, I'm glad you how we do something is just as important as doing it.
Speaker A
And why I think is part of it. All right. Well, let's at least let's at least get him talking.
Speaker A
Pulse the gag out. My face hurt. You deserve it. Hey, you beat me up real bad.
Speaker A
Yeah, I'm really glad they did. I was just following orders. My lord, I'm just following orders. You were about to slit those people's throats and enjoy it.
Speaker A
I wasn't going to enjoy it. I don't like those. You were sure acting like you were going to enjoy it. Well, yeah, cuz I get to go home.
Speaker A
You know what? I'm really angry and I am having a hard time not continuing the beating you were receiving. So, I am going to pass your questioning off to somebody else for a minute.
Speaker A
Astro F, you guys want to say something cuz I'm I'm going to kill this guy. I think I'm really not in the good place.
Speaker A
Nev walks up. Did you want to do the honors? Looks at Fra. Um, no. This is your domain, right? Sort of.
Speaker A
Uh, I'm not really a torturer, but I can. I'm not. We're not torturing this man.
Speaker A
I'm not trying to torture anyone is what I'm saying. Where did you come from? Did you get sent here along with the other guards?
Speaker A
Let's start with who the storming who do you storming work for? I was working for for the bright lord Taz me and that's all you know.
Speaker A
Well, I was you just work for him. No one else. I was I was working in on down on river boats for a while.
Speaker A
For who? I was working for Rave these people. I was running money. I was running stuff, you know, and I was I was shaking people down sometimes. I had to beat people up.
Speaker A
Does Ray own this Bright Lord? No, he's like connected though. He's friends. They're friends.
Speaker A
They know each other. Yeah. See, but Raven knows like everybody, right? Can I hop in? I've got one.
Speaker A
Go for it. When you were talking to the Bright Lord when he got back, you said he's not going to like that. Is Rave he or is he somebody else?
Speaker A
Well, he's somebody else. Yeah. Okay. Who's he? He doesn't He didn't give us a name and he wears a mask. So, he's just like somebody that's a bigger upper than Tasmir.
Speaker A
What kind of mask did he wear? He was all red. He's covered in like black veins and he was wearing like robes and stuff and he had spooky face and his eyes were all reddish and he had like a spear
Speaker A
and he used he was angry. Pretty angry. His skin was all weird colors too. Kind of like painted like one of the posh Andy a little bit like the war ones.
Speaker A
You know what I mean? I guess with like the face and the and the spikes kind of.
Speaker A
So you were working you were working for him. Well, I wasn't working for him, but Tasmir had a meeting with him twice today.
Speaker A
Today? Yeah, once in the morning. Is he the one who wanted us gone? I I mean, I'd have to presume so. He was saying stuff like that he's not allowed to be here and something about well if he if they think that they can stop us
Speaker A
something something something he's got to get rid of them so this can get in the way right it's like did you ever hear did you ever hear Tasmia say the words heavenly ones No, he didn't say much to me though. He's
Speaker A
always saying stuff like, "Gusto, move. Gusto, you stupid. You did a good job." Thank me thinking it was you cuz you said I was dumb a bunch and I was like, "It's him." I mean, I did think he was probably that
Speaker A
kind of guy. It was the vibe I got. No, he was. He was. Good job.
Speaker A
Thank you. I'm new to it, so it means a lot actually. You're doing well, to be honest.
Speaker A
Thank you. Um, you know, it's tough. It's kind of scary, you know, like looking like somebody else. It's like, oh, what if I can never go back to being me?
Speaker A
I'm really glad I did not kill you. I'm pretty happy about you as well.
Speaker A
Yeah. Gusto, is that what your name was? Yeah, Gusto. Yeah. Do you know where Pazamir met this person? This man of course.
Speaker A
Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was up on one of the windb blades. He had me there and um watch as hell. Um did Oh, what's his damnation name? It sounds like one of the herald names, right? It's like
Speaker A
Tal Telen Tanin Taminin something like here he was meeting with someone named Tam. Is that what you're saying?
Speaker A
It was a Tamin. I think somebody should somebody we should double check on that just in case.
Speaker A
I think that's him. That was his name. Yeah. Mhm. And Gera, you said you work for Rave.
Speaker A
Yeah, I've worked for Rave for a couple of years now. Yeah, it's been like does Oh, jeez. No, I was a couple dozen high storms. I've worked for him. Yeah. At least I was a creme scraper before.
Speaker A
Are you working for him willingly or does He's been willingly. He's holding something. He's been willingly. Well, he's he's paying me like crazy amounts of money and they said these guys here were villains, right? They said he's evil.
Speaker A
So, I was I didn't feel so terribly bad about killing them. So, but I'm feeling pretty bummed about it now. Feeling kind of like one of the 10 fools, right?
Speaker A
When are you supposed to go back to Rafe? It's a couple of hours ago now. Actually, I think things went pretty poorly for all Tasmir and so I was supposed to go back to Rave and say like job's done.
Speaker A
You know, job's done. Yeah. Tazmir ran off because of the weird sex stuff. Yeah, I heard.
Speaker A
So, am I supposed to say that, too? Might as well keep it consistent. I admit it's funny. Can I is is we can Can I just get like a drink of water?
Speaker A
Oh. Oh, yeah. For sure. I'm paralyzing going to unshackle him. Okay. Yeah. And grab him a cup of water.
Speaker A
Yeah. Sorry about everything. It seems there was a lot of miscommunication. Yeah, everybody's lying. He's Everybody's lying to one another. Hey, he's never the knife.
Speaker A
Yeah, big fan. He's like a legend in the theater district. That's crazy. You're more famous than some of the heralds at this point. at least respected a little more among our people.
Speaker A
That looks so uncomfortable and so confused. How did this happen? Oh, you robbed a bunch of people pretty successfully and you have a big bunch of people working for you. Like 20 little scampers that go around piling from
Speaker A
everybody. That's like a gang. It's pretty cool. Plus, we heard about them two guys that you took the best of on that rooftop not too terribly long ago.
Speaker A
And rumor has it rumor has it well his face is dead. So he hasn't been to Ra's gambling hall in a couple of days and that ain't right. So you know moving on up right.
Speaker A
Uh if anybody in the crew wants to roll in check on them right now.
Speaker A
100%. Oh you're muted. Yeah. Oh yeah you do. 100%. Yeah. I will. Yeah, sure.
Speaker A
Yeah, cuz you see your little your little thief friend get all tense and you're not sure and see how you read it.
Speaker A
Not so great. Mm- But Oh, yeah. I guess. Okay. Uh, wait, what did Alstrom get? You got a six and Alstrom got nine.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah. No. Bear's pretty confident he's got it all figured out already from what he knows.
Speaker A
So, he's he's good. So, it's like, all right. Well, anyway, thanks for the water. It takes a big long draft of it.
Speaker A
Is it I mean, I should probably go, right? I mean, you're all beat up like that.
Speaker A
That wouldn't look too good, would it? Well, I just I'm going to have to come up with a story, right?
Speaker A
Yeah, cuz like the mission was quite not accomplished. I'd say it's failed. The mission failed.
Speaker A
Sorry. Does Rave want me dead? Is that part of this whole thing? Are you dead? No. No. Rave was Rave is is is getting paid out of all this cuz for the info. He's got eyes everywhere.
Speaker A
Yeah. Yeah. So, I think that's how we got all the info cuz I had to show up with a bunch of letters.
Speaker A
Where did you take those letters? Yeah. I gave him to to tell me. Oh, okay. That's where those came from.
Speaker A
Like a little notebook and it was there was some stuff in it, but I was like but the guy who gave it to me wasn't Rave. He gave me some other things. So I there was like a page in
Speaker A
there that I ripped up and ate cuz it was it was the wrong stuff. It was glyphs for a name that I I don't think it was like one for ownership. It was I didn't think rave would be good with it.
Speaker A
So I ate it. I ate one of the pages. Okay, I'm going to do something for you now.
Speaker A
I'd I'd like not to die. No, it's not going to be death. It's going to be the opposite of death.
Speaker A
Birth. And no one will no one's going to believe you if you tell them. So, there's no point.
Speaker A
Is that a radiant thing? He's going to make me give birth. Yeah, I'm going to make you pregnant.
Speaker A
No Gusto. And Barlar just puts his hands on this guy and will pull Stormlight from his pouch until this guy is at full health.
Speaker A
Okay. Yeah. Well, I feel better. That's nice. Don't feel my ribs are broke no more. My jaw feels a little better.
Speaker A
I just But that's that was rough. Okay. You did deserve it a little bit.
Speaker A
No, I was going to kill him. Yeah, I was going to do it. I was told that it was villains, that he was there was enemies of ours and I was supposed to do it. I was going to do them.
Speaker A
I think I should watch who I'm listening to from now on. Was innocent mayor. It's a bad one. I got to probably reconsider working for Rave.
Speaker A
How much does he pay you? It's like 10 marks a week. It's pretty good money.
Speaker A
Okay, you go let him know that you quit. Yeah. All right. You work for me now.
Speaker A
I don't know how I feel working for a lot of eyes. Raves and light eyes point kind of stands, right?
Speaker A
Okay. You work for Nev the Knife. He looks over to Nev. Yeah. So, as a part of the the the your little your little gang. Does that mean I'm in?
Speaker A
Neb just looks at Bear like, "Are you kidding me?" Um, junior member, you know.
Speaker A
Yeah, we can. Sure. Nice. I'm good with a sword and I'm I can lift and I'm good at transporting things.
Speaker A
Not a great liar, but you know, I'll I'll do it. I'm good at running.
Speaker A
More heavy heavy hitters around is always a good thing. Yeah. Give me a big old sword. I'll be your I'll be your guy.
Speaker A
Yeah, you're a knight, right? You're like a big gradient thing. So, it's like you're one of the bad guys, good guys.
Speaker A
I've heard stories for both. Well, considering we're supposed to protect people, I would consider that good.
Speaker A
I I guess. Nice. Yeah, I can protect people. I could do that. Maybe you can help me out with a couple of things. I got a I got a house.
Speaker A
Nev just kind of is like, oh, we'll talk. Okay. It's just like one floor.
Speaker A
It's got like a little What's got a little roof with patio. I got nice chairs.
Speaker A
All right. I got amenities. You're sure Rave's not going to, you know, worried about when you quit? I'm kind of hoping that like having be like I he's I don't think he'd care if he was if I was working for
Speaker A
you know bear but if I tell him that I'm working for Nev than I have now kind of thing that he might turn he might be a little more hesitant to to cut off my bits.
Speaker A
You know what I'm saying? Cuz you're dangerous. Are you telling me that you think Rave is afraid of me?
Speaker A
I mean, if I had to name like people that he might be afraid of, it'd be like Ew. And he' probably be like, you know, Tin Shank. He'd probably be like, you know, Ironto. He'd probably be like, you know, he'd probably be like
Speaker A
Jebra the Fist. He'd be like Never the Knife. It' be like, you know, the god captain would be like Tel and like, you know, be like, "All right, Fannis, the guy that lives in the wind blade and says all the spooky things."
Speaker A
Now I understand why they call you Gusto. It's also cuz it's my name. Fair enough.
Speaker A
You can tell him what you want. I think I'm not going to tell him anything. I think I'm just maybe like not show up to work.
Speaker A
I think that sounds like a good idea. Yeah. Like if I go to his if I like go to his warehouse and I'm like, "Hey, I quit cuz like I've been press ganged into being employed under somebody else."
Speaker A
He'd be like, "Well, into the river with with like, you know, creme shoes." That's the more likely response. Yeah.
Speaker A
So, I'm going to just like go home and like eat a sandwich. Nice. You like sandwiches.
Speaker A
I'll I'll call on you and we'll talk about work. All right, cool. We can do it over sandwiches. I'm a big sandwich guy.
Speaker A
Great. Yeah. Nev is just like I cannot believe like the sec if if Gusto leaves. Is Gusto leaving?
Speaker A
Gusto leaves. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. He's just like Nev wheels on bear. Why are you volunteering me to hire people? I'm not hiring to be honest. Um, I just I would have sent him to Alstra and Oscia shop cuz I
Speaker A
know they're looking for people. But come on. He could not do that job. No, he's already a criminal, so I couldn't exactly send him to go hang out with Tio. And he didn't want to work for me cuz I got light eyes. And he seems like
Speaker A
a nice guy. Yeah. But next time I will ask before I, you know, uh, do that.
Speaker A
Jez whispers in Nev's ear. He kind of seems like the type of guy that might need a little bit of protecting, you know, physically and emotionally. He needs he needs like some He needs help.
Speaker A
I need a storming drink. You don't need me for anything else, right? Hold on before we go.
Speaker A
What are we going to do? Yeah. What are we doing? Going back to what we were doing because we were never here.
Speaker A
Okay. What we were doing? Okay. Well, I mean, was there anything else we needed here?
Speaker A
We've taken everything valuable. We have information bubble. Do we need to tell Tonavir that his name was on this list with us?
Speaker A
I'm so glad I said sound bubble first right before Yeah, right before Allst said that.
Speaker A
Yeah. No. What do you mean no? I mean, no, we don't tell him that.
Speaker A
The more information that we have that he doesn't, the better. He's going to know we just got attacked right in front of his place though.
Speaker A
That's fine. He can know that. He will find out. And if he finds out that we don't know or thinks that we don't know when he does, Berdelar eats the paper, eats the page that says Tonavir's name on it.
Speaker A
Ah, no. Yeah, that's like the thing is is we can just assume that he already knows. If he has spies everywhere, we can probably just assume he knows already.
Speaker A
We were followed from his place according to Frame. Like he there's no way he doesn't know.
Speaker A
Yeah. I mean, maybe he told them where we were going to be there when.
Speaker A
He He probably has a bunch of He's probably on a bunch of lists. Maybe that was a test, you know, for us, for you to make sure we were capable enough to work for him.
Speaker A
I doubt that. I don't make sense. Neither does he. He's a sociopath. Nev just looks at him cuz sociopaths make perfect sense to Nev.
Speaker A
Uh we cannot go out the front door. Is there a back door? Oh, yeah. There's there's there's waste out of here. There's there's really no problem. Um, and is it night time?
Speaker A
Yeah, daytime. Night time. You did a lot of this under the cover of night.
Speaker A
I need to go home and see my family. But we should meet up again soon.
Speaker A
Yeah. Uh frame whispers in the back of Fananiel's ear. Are you done having a friend talk to you?
Speaker A
Am I allowed to speak again? Yes. Okay, this is good. And then he becomes 8t tall once again.
Speaker A
Historically speaking, the best course of action after incredibly dangerous criminal endeavors is to lay low for a period of time. to allow the suspicions of the constabularary to fall aside. It is important the creation of of a alibi
Speaker A
and separating for a short time. I suggest returning to work and doing the things that you would have done otherwise.
Speaker A
Uh when's the next job again? Sorry. Huh? The next job? Yeah. I don't think we know when.
Speaker A
10 10 days. 20 days. We're waiting for the dossier. Yeah, we're supposed to get a dossier.
Speaker A
This is immediately after that meeting, so it hasn't even been a day. No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Okay.
Speaker A
Um the party is supposed to be in Heimdated 10 days from what he said.
Speaker A
Yeah. Okay. Um you've got 10 days until the party. You've got a a short period of of downtime, uh so to speak.
Speaker A
Gotcha. That's what it is. Okay. Um, yeah, we need to get our story straight and and go our separate ways for at least a few days, maybe longer.
Speaker A
I will miss all of you. A so sweet. Uh, I think Nev's going to stealth out.
Speaker A
Okay. Just Irish goodbye. Okay. Bye. Yeah. Okay. We'll roll things along a little bit and we'll say that you all go your separate ways.
Speaker A
Yeah. Uh Bear does ask Fra to walk him home after um being legitimately terrified like like he is the most tense he's been in a long time.
Speaker A
Of course. Yeah. You make your way to your respective homes and this is where our group goes their separate ways for a short period of time. And folks, people at home, that is the end of our season.
Speaker A
That is we will reconvene not next week, but the week after. We will be taking a one week break so that I can take notes, do a bit of writing, double check on things, and get ready for the next season of
Speaker A
the last ideal. Thank you to everyone that came out tonight. Thank you for the folks that were watching, the folks that have come in and spread the word. Uh this was a wild ride from start to finish. Um,
Speaker A
yeah, I got to say that is now every single one of our uh that is every single one of our radiants that have spoken the ideals. Um, at least the first. We now have a full party of uh of Knights Radiant. We are
Speaker A
now, as it sits, a windrunner, a truth watcher, a lightw weaver, and an elseer.
Speaker A
So, from all of us to all of you, thank you. And we are going to raid out uh to our good buddy Craig Craighhams. Um Craig Craigs. Yeah, cuz Craig's live.
Speaker A
And uh yeah, see you this Saturday for Sanguin Dominion. And see you the Tuesday after next for the next episode of The Last Ideal. We're going to miss you.
Speaker A
Bye-bye. Bye. Give it 10 seconds, of course, cuz I don't hit the button early enough. And I forget that there's I will forever in a day forget that there's a 10-second timer. Yeah, we're just just wave.
Speaker A
Everybody wave blankly. Just bye. Safe hand. Bye, everybody. Safe hand exposed. Safe hand out, you harlet.
