Because a lot of us pray for God to fix things, fix my situation, fix this, fix that. But these three prayers are not about asking God to change what's around you, but to change you. And that's a scary thing to pray because God takes that seriously. So the first one is, God, help me to unbecome everything that's not me so that I can finally become everything You created me to be. And the second, you pray this prayer, your life might just start falling apart. I'm warning you in advance because sometimes God has to break the version of your life that you've been trying to build without Him so that He can build on a firm foundation. [music] Sometimes God has to break who you were to make room for who you're meant to be. Just like when Jesus multiplied the bread, He broke the bread before He multiplied it. Sometimes God has to break you before He blesses you. All right? And then the second prayer is, God, help me to let go of what I need to let go of. Give me the strength to release what I keep trying to hold on to and the faith to trust You with what's next. [music] And this one is dangerous because most of us are holding on to something we shouldn't be holding on to. Whether it's a relationship, a grudge, a plan we have for our life. And the moment you open your hands, God can finally put something way better in your hands. Like say I was holding the sharp part of a knife right here in my hand and you were trying to take it away from me. That would not be good. That would cut my hand. But I got to open my hand in order for you to take it. That's what this prayer is all about. And it might not be something you want to let go of. It might be something that you're attached to, but not everything is going where God wants you to go. So, let's go to the third prayer, which is the most dangerous one. David actually prayed this in the Bible. He said, "Search me, God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. [music] Point out anything in me that offends You and lead me along the path of everlasting life." [music] This one is so dangerous because you're basically asking God, "Search me. Whatever is not good in me, get it out. I don't want it in me. Anything that's pulling me away from You, anything that's distracting me, anything that's making me worse. Because the truth is, you can't heal what you don't reveal. You can't correct what you don't confront. And so, when you tell God to search you, oh, He's going to search you. He's going to point out some things in your life that you got to get better at. Can I get a a
