Speaker A
Hi everyone, my name is Kate. Welcome back to my Wonder 19 channel. Today, I want to start a series of back-to-school themed tutorials, and I want to make some themed tutorials before September. We're going to prepare with you for college, for university, for school. I've already graduated university, but I really like the back-to-school aesthetic. Today, we're going to make a cardigan, and I hope that the skein that I bought will be enough for this cardigan because I'm beginning to doubt that it will be enough. If it happens, I will need a little bit more, but we'll see. I hope it will be enough. Today's cardigan will be good not only in these colors that I'm going to use, white and black, but also red and black, or maybe blue and black, or blue and white, or green and black, green and white. So use the colors that you like. Also, you can make the cardigan with cotton or cotton mixtures, or maybe wool with mixtures if you're going to wear it in a cold season. This cardigan is quite simple, and it's medium level, I think, but if you're learning fast, you will cope with it too. Of course, don't worry, I will show you step by step, so even the beginner can make this cardigan. So let's get started, and don't forget to subscribe to my channel. Let's get 100,000 subscribers by the end of this year, and also please give this video a like and leave a comment. It will help others to see this video too. So let's get started. As it's now back-to-school time, back to university time, many people are studying hard or preparing for their studies. Although I have graduated my university, I don't stop studying. For example, English isn't my native language, so I study hard every day to increase my English vocabulary. I have some different ways how I usually self-study my English, for example, a lot of listening, writing, speaking, but it's not always enough to memorize that word that always slips out of my head. To avoid the situation, I use Neuron Flash app. It's my true recommendation because I use this app every day. And as we have back-to-school themed tutorials, I want to share with you this app too. This app helps me to memorize information better. I use this app specifically to learn my English words, but you can use it to learn some rules, terms, any language, whatever information you need to memorize. I want to clarify that this app is for self-studying. For example, you're preparing for an exam and you need to memorize some rule or term, or you're learning a new language and you find a word that is new to you. You type this word or term, whatever information, into the app, add examples or description of the words. You can use ChatGPT for this and add it to your library. That's it, and now you can practice it. The app has a special system that allows you to memorize all the information permanently. It's better to go to the app every day and practice your words, and the app will give you these words in a certain order every day. With this system, all words, terms, rules, whatever information will stick in your head. My advice is to use this app at least one month to learn all the information. I at one time write down a lot of words that I want to learn and then practice them. If you're preparing for exams or learning a new language, it's my true recommendation to use Neuron Flash app to self-study. Actually, I've already found a pattern I liked beforehand, and now let's make a sketch. Now it's in the cardigans with ties or bows, so you won't need buttons. I also want to make a black edging. On Pinterest, you can find a lot of cardigans with contrasting edging, so I think it matches with back-to-school aesthetic. The cardigan will be a little bit lacy, so it will be perfect for autumn season. So for size XS, we will need seven skeins of white yarn in 50 grams, 135 meters, and one skein of black yarn. Also, hook 4 mm, scissors, markers, and needle. I will use Airu Premium. It's cotton with cash, acrylic cashmere with acrylic. I bought it in Korean yarn store Wo Club. You can find them on Instagram or they have a YouTube channel, and you can order this yarn on their website. The link will be in the description below the video. Here is the information about the number of air loops. Right now, we're going to make the front parts, and we need to chain 29 plus 3. Originally, the pattern consists of six loops, but I changed it to make the cardigan, so it's a little bit hard to explain how I counted the number of air loops. But if you need to make the cardigan bigger size, you need to add to my number of air loops. Here is 29, six more loops, for example, 29 plus 6, it will be 35. So you need to cast on 35 loops plus three more to start the row. If you need the bigger size, even more bigger size than 29 plus 6 plus 6, it will be 41 plus 3 to start the row. And the same principle for the back part of the cardigan and for the sleeve. So right now, make chain of 29 plus three more loops. It's for size XS. If you need more, add six more loops. Here is chain of 29 and plus three more loops, and these three loops will be counted as the first stitch in the row. Yarn over, insert the hook into the fifth loop from the hook. The one on the hook doesn't count, and make four double crochet. Crochet first loop, then two more. It's the first double crochet we made. Then yarn over again, insert the hook into the next loop, again make double crochet. It's the second one, the third one, and the fourth one. So in total, five double crochet with first chain of three, then chain one, skip one loop, and make five double crochet. One, two, three, four, and five like this. Then again, chain one, skip one stitch, and make five double crochet. So crochet the same pattern until the end of the row. You should finish with five double crochet. This is what you should have. Then make chain one and turn your work. From the second loop from the hook, the one on the hook doesn't count, start crocheting five single crochet. Grab the yarn, pull it out, and crochet two loops on the hook. Then make chain one, skip one loop, and make five single crochet again. So we need to make single crochet above double crochet from the previous row and chain one above the chain one, and so on until the end of the row. Don't forget to make the last single crochet right here. Then make chain of three and turn your work. This chain of three is counted as the first double crochet at the first stitch. So insert the hook into the fifth loop from the hook. The one on the hook doesn't count, and make double crochet like this. Yarn over, insert the hook right behind the first stitch of the first row like this. Grab the yarn, pull it out, and crochet only two loops on the hook like this. Then yarn over again and insert the hook right behind the fifth double crochet from the first row like this. It's relief double crochet. Grab the yarn, pull it out, crochet only first loops on the hook, then grab yarn again and crochet three loops together. So it's two relief double crochet with one vertex. Then yarn over again and insert the hook into the second loop before the chain one from the previous row right here and make two double crochet. The first one and into the next loop the second one. It's before chain one from the previous row like this. Then chain one above the chain one, then make double crochet one and into the next loop two. Then again two relief double crochet with one vertex. Yarn over, insert the hook behind the first double crochet of the first row, crochet only two loops on the hook. Then yarn over again, insert the hook behind the fifth double crochet of the first row, crochet only two loops on the hook, then three together. Again, make two double crochet before chain one from the previous row. One and the next stitch two, then chain one above the chain one from the previous row and repeat the pattern again. Two double crochet, then two relief double crochet with one vertex, then two double crochet before chain one, chain one, and so on until the end of the row. The pattern consists of only two rows. So yeah, this row is a little bit complicated, but the next row will be much easier. At the end of the row, insert the hook behind the last stitch like this. Make the same.
