Alright, as usual, before we compare the plans, let’s first look at the latest performance of each telco.

The first set of data comes from IMDA’s Nationwide Outdoor Service Coverage report. While all four telcos performed fairly close to one another, Singtel and StarHub came out slightly ahead for outdoor coverage, as compared to M1 and SIMBA.

This essentially means that if you are on a provider that uses either the Singtel or StarHub network, you have a slightly better chance of getting stronger mobile coverage when you are moving around Singapore.

The second source is the Mobile Network Experience Report by OpenSignal. This report measures overall experience, 5G experience, coverage, consistency, and more.

In most categories, both Singtel and StarHub ranked among the top performers, whether it’s 5G experience, coverage, and consistency. The two biggest exceptions here are the 5G video experience, 5G download speed, and 5G availability, where M1 came out as the winner.

The cheapest plan in this category is actually the Eight Seniors Plan. Since this is limited only to seniors, I will come back to it later. I am also skipping the Eight 588GB Data Only plan because it does not include talktime or SMS, which makes it impractical for most users.

Ignoring those two, here are the next three plans that provide the best value. The first is Eight Telco’s iconic Double Eight Plan, priced at $8, yet offering a very generous 388GB of data. This data is also usable in Malaysia. On top of that,

the plan includes 10GB of roaming across six countries and 2GB of international roaming. The next best value plan is the redONE Best10 plan. At $10.90, it comes with 450GB of data that can be used in both Malaysia and Indonesia, along with 12GB of roaming across 16 ASEAN countries.

The third plan is the Eight 488GB plan. It costs $11.80 and includes 488GB of local data, 26GB of roaming across six countries, 8GB of international roaming. And if you subscribe for a full year, you also get about $13 worth of discount.
