It means that the cancer has spread from the site of origin to other distant places in his body.

Some things just don't make any sense. I guess we gave you radiation. We followed it up with chemotherapy last month, but we're still fighting cancer in your body all over.
Speaker A
Dr. Sonni wants to start you on a more intense round of chemotherapy. We're going to give you three different drugs this time to try to shrink the tumor. [sighs] Look, Jason, I know it's hard, but if we've got a chance of getting at this

thing, we've got to do everything we can. We got to throw everything we've got at it. So, you got to take this drug.
Speaker A
What sort of side effects are we talking about here? It's different for everybody. In your case, probably similar to the side effects you're feeling now, only more intense.
Speaker A
You see, the cancer drugs that we're giving you right now, they're designed to go in and kill the cancer cells, which are the ones that grow and divide more rapidly in your body.
Speaker A
Now, the problem is you've also got normal cells in your body that grow rapidly too.
Speaker A
Meaning, the drugs will probably kill them off more easily. So, you can expect more fatigue, more nausea, more intense hair loss.

But in the letter, this boy, his name is Kyle, talked about how even through his friend's struggles with cancer, his friend remained strong. And that's not all. He learned magic and he performs it for the other sick kids at Seattle

Hospital. Well, I thought this teenager seemed like an amazing person, and I invited him here tonight to share some of his magic tricks with us. So, let's give him a big round of applause. Ladies and gentlemen, Jason Miller.
