Method two—DPI deception without traffic encryption. DPI, or Deep Packet Inspection, is a system that scans data packets and blocks them if it sees banned sites in the header. For DPI to work, it forces operators to install TSPU, special servers placed alongside regular ones so that all traffic in the country is regulated. And if this DPI sees a banned site in the traffic header, it blocks it. The idea of the method itself is not to hide traffic, but to deceive the DPI system: fragment the packet, insert fake data, spoof the TTL, and the DPI simply cannot read it properly and lets it through. This includes Zapret from ValdikSS and GoodbyeDPI. This is an analog for Windows, ByeDPI is a cross-platform version, and GreenTunnel. Generally a little-known thing, but I found it on the internet. First of all, there’s the VPS server issue. Since the blocking started, their prices have jumped tenfold or twentyfold. And that is very expensive.
