How to Naturally Cleanse Your Blood | Dr. Mandell

Dr. Mandell explains how hydration, diet, exercise, and herbs like milk thistle and beetroot support the body's natural blood and liver detoxification.

Key Takeaways

  • Detoxification works best through a combination of hydration, diet, exercise, and liver-supportive habits rather than any single step.
  • Limiting refined foods and sugar is important for liver health and cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Certain foods such as cruciferous vegetables, beetroot, and turmeric are presented as beneficial.
  • Consult a physician before starting herbal or supplement regimens, especially with liver pathology.

What the video covers

  • Blood transports oxygen, nutrients, and hormones while carrying waste away from cells, so keeping it clean supports overall health.
  • Water is central: the body is roughly 65% water, and dehydration, especially in older adults, can harm kidney function.
  • Drinking water in the morning, optionally with lemon or apple cider vinegar, is suggested as a simple daily habit.
  • The liver, kidneys, skin, intestines, spleen, and lymphatic system all help remove toxins from the body.
  • Exercise promotes sweating, which helps release toxins through the skin, and muscle contraction aids venous blood return.
  • Foods highlighted include garlic, onion, chamomile tea, broccoli, cauliflower, pomegranates, beetroot, coffee, and turmeric.
  • Beetroot powder is described as raising nitrate levels in the blood and promoting vasodilation, which may lower blood pressure.
  • Milk thistle (silymarin) and dandelion are presented as liver-supporting herbs, with a recommendation to consult a doctor if liver disease is present.
  • Excess refined sugar and processed foods are linked to fatty liver, raised insulin, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides.
  • Common signs that the body may need detoxification include unexplained fatigue and allergies; the speaker frames these as systemic strain rather than sepsis.

Welcome, everyone. This video is going to be very enlightening for many of us. This is something I'm going to run through quickly. I have a few notes I'm going to go back to, to make sure I don't miss anything with you. But I want to talk about the importance of how you can keep your blood clean, or detoxified, because everything works from the inside. What we take in from the outside, what we breathe in, what we eat, what's in our foods, the pesticides. So let's go over a few important things, and then I'll go into some aspects of specific herbs. We'll go into foods as well as other nutrients, which I think will be very important.

But blood is crucial in our body. We know that without it, we just cannot survive. It transports vital oxygen, nutrients, and hormones throughout our body. At the same time, it's responsible for carrying waste away from those cells. So it's a constant, ongoing process that continues every second of our lives.

Now, when it comes to our blood, there's nothing more important than water. Water is the vehicle, and most of our body is made up of water. Around 65% of our body is potentially made up of water, including our brain, our organs, and our tissues. That's so important when it comes to organs like our kidneys.

One of the biggest problems we find as we get older is more dehydration in the elderly, which leads to potential dysfunction of the kidneys, even sepsis and other problems. People get sick that they shouldn't because they are dehydrated.

shouldn't because they are dehydrated. Now, the other aspect of of water is that you have to look at your environment. The first thing we should do is get up in the morning, drink a nice glass of water. You could put some

Now, the other aspect of water is that you have to look at your environment. The first thing we should do is get up in the morning and drink a nice glass of water. You could put some lemon in there, a great detoxifier. I'll mention apple cider vinegar too, a great cleanser. Remember, when you get your oil changed in your car, what are you doing? You're keeping the oil clean through the engine. It's the same thing in our body. We have organs like our liver filtering toxins, and our kidneys are trying to excrete waste so we can urinate it out of our body. So we need to help them, and by doing these specific things, I think this will be a positive asset for everyone.

Now, the few key organs are our skin, intestines, spleen, and lymphatic system. So we have a lot of things driving that blood and those toxins out of our body. Again, we just cannot do just one thing. I'm not a big believer in saying, "Okay, take the vitamins, but don't eat correctly." And I'm saying to people out there: don't just drink water without exercise. You have to encompass a lot of these things, because exercise will get you to sweat, and sweating helps release toxins through the skin. Our skin is our largest organ. And again, you're pumping blood to the muscles, and the muscles have a job too. Remember the veins in our legs: the muscles and valves have to contract to push blood back up against gravity to get back to our heart. So yes, our muscles are definitely important.

There are many different foods, and I'll briefly mention a few that are really at the top of the list: garlic and onion, chamomile tea, one of my favorite cruciferous vegetables, particularly broccoli and cauliflower, which are extremely good, and pomegranates. I love beetroot, as well as beetroot powder, because beetroot powder causes nitrates to form within the blood and induces vasodilation of blood vessels, which brings more blood to the cells and will actually lower your blood pressure as well. And believe it or not, coffee is a detoxifier. That's correct. You wouldn't think it is. Turmeric is also a great thing because it helps reduce inflammation.

When we look at the liver, it has a big job, from working with hormones to filtration, balancing glucose, and storing glycogen. It has so many different chemical reactions that take place in the liver. It's beyond what we could imagine.

That's one place where, when we're not taking care of ourselves, eating too many refined and processed foods, that excess of sugar can eventually lead to a fatty liver. When you start throwing the liver off, we're going to have problems, because that usually increases fat, since it increases insulin. It also increases our bad cholesterol, LDL, as well as our triglycerides. LDL is important because high LDL can lead to plaque buildup in the arteries, which can lead to other problems, eventually heart attack or stroke. So those things are really important.

inflammation as well. But when we look at the liver, um the liver has a big job from working with hormones, uh working with uh the filtration and the balancing of of glucose and storing glycogen. Uh and it has so many different chemical

Talking about the liver, I love milk thistle, also known as silymarin. It's extremely beneficial if you do the research. Milk thistle can really do wonders for cleansing. Dandelion is extremely powerful. Even chamomile tea is very therapeutic and healing, but for the liver, milk thistle is a slam dunk. I've had some issues, like bilirubin, in the past, and I went on milk thistle. I've put thousands of people on milk thistle, and they have done remarkably, and it's safe. It's a great cleanser and a great healer for pretty much all conditions. If you do have a liver pathology going on, you want to speak to your doctor before you do anything.

Many of you may be thinking, "How do I know if my blood needs to be cleansed or detoxed?" The common symptoms I'm about to tell you are the most common. If you're having these, and I'm sure most of us have had them at times in our lives, some people have them a lot more than others. When it comes to unexplained fatigue, where you feel really sluggish, just tired, always tired, that can be a toxic liver, as well as toxic blood. When I say toxic blood, I don't mean sepsis, but changes going on in your system that cause your organs and tissues to work harder. Allergies are very, very common. Low-grade infections, puffy eyes that we blame on lack of sleep. No, a lot of that comes from toxicity, particularly from the colon. Remember, the colon needs good probiotics, those fermented foods. We also need prebiotics. Prebiotics feed the probiotics. Prebiotics are our soluble fibers, our pectins. A lot of bloating is a very common thing when our liver isn't functioning at its ideal perfection. There's also mental confusion, where it's not that you forget everything. It's that you feel giddy, and it's hard to focus. This is where people start bringing in other conditions like ADHD. But I want to keep it simple with you. I really don't want to tear things apart. I want you to start first thing in the morning: a nice big glass of water or two, a little lemon or a little apple cider vinegar, very cleansing, or just plain warm water or chamomile tea. You need to hydrate, because when you hydrate first thing in the morning, it kicks in your system. It gets those enzymes working and gets your colon working. Warm water, even room-temperature water, will help increase peristalsis. I cannot stress this enough: if you are eating lots of refined foods and notice you're constipated, not going regularly, or getting cramps, you really need to switch to fibrous foods. Fiber is so important, especially soluble fiber. Soluble fiber latches onto cholesterol, the bad cholesterol, and takes it out of the system. It lowers your triglycerides and gets your colon working better. It's
04:55
Speaker A
But we are going to increase our uh bad cholesterol, LDLs, as well as our triglycerides. And our LDLs are important because high LDLs can lead to plaquing in the arteries and that can lead to other problems that can
05:09
Speaker A
eventually lead to heart attack or stroke. So those things are are really important. Now talking about the liver um I love milk thistle. Milk thistle silan known as the same thing aka u extremely beneficial if you do the
05:25
Speaker A
research. Milk thistle can really do wonders at help cleansing. uh dandelion extremely powerful. Even chamomile, those tees are are very therapeutic and healing, but with the milk thistle for the liver is slam dunk. Um I've had some issues uh like Billy Rubin in the past
05:42
Speaker A
and I went on the milk thistle. I put thousands of people on milk thistle and they have done remarkable safe uh and it's a great great cleanser, great healer uh pretty much for all conditions. And if you do have a liver
05:55
Speaker A
uh type of pathology going on, you want to speak to your doctor before you do anything. So many of you may be thinking, "How do I know if my blood needs to be cleansed or detoxed?" These common symptoms I'm about to tell you
06:09
Speaker A
are the most common. And if you're having these, and I'm sure most of us have had it at times of our life, some people have it a lot more than others, but when it comes down to unexplained fatigue, uh you feel real sluggish, just
06:22
Speaker A
tired, just always tired, uh that can be a toxic liver as well as a a toxic uh blood. When I say toxic blood, not sepsis, but uh changes that are going on in your system, it's causing your organs
06:36

and tissues to work harder. Uh allergies are very, very common. low-grade infections, puffy eyes that, you know, we blame it from lack of sleep. No, it's a lot of it's from toxicity, uh particularly from the colon. Remember, the colon needs those good probiotics,
06:52
Speaker A
those fermented foods. And we also need those prebiotics. Those prebiotics feed the probiotics. Those prebiotics are our soluble fibers, our pectins. Um, a lot of bloating is a very very common thing when it comes down to our liver uh
07:07
Speaker A
potentially, you know, not functioning at its ideal perfection as well as even mental confusion where it's not like you're going to go into like I don't remember everything. It's just you feel giddy. You just you feel giddy. Uh, and
07:20
Speaker A
it's hard for you to focus. And this is where start people start bringing in other conditions like ADHD and ADHD. And but I just want to keep it real simple with you. I really don't want to tear things apart, but um I really want you
07:33
Speaker A
to start first thing in the morning. Nice big glass of water or two, little lemon uh or a little apple cider vinegar, very very cleansing, or just plain up warm water, chamomile tea. But you need to hydrate because when you
07:48
Speaker A
hydrate first thing in the morning, it's going to kick in your system. It's going to get those enzymes working. It's going to get your colon working. uh that that warm that warm water even room temperature water will help increase
07:58
Speaker A
paristalsis. Um and so I cannot highly stress that if you are eating lots of refined foods and you notice that you're constipated, not going regular, you're getting cramps, uh you need to really switch it up to those fibrous foods. Uh
08:15
Speaker A
fiber is so important. Soluble fiber is so important. the soluble fiber uh is going to latch on to those to the cholesterol, the bad cholesterol, and and and take it out of the system. Um, it's going to lower your triglycerides.
08:29
Speaker A
It's going to get your your colon working better. Uh, it's going to feed those uh probiotics uh within your colon as well to try to build that colony. So, whenever you're having intestinal issues, you always got to go back to the
08:45
Speaker A
colon to feed it to make sure it's getting what it needs. And I cannot highly stress berries. What I love about berries strawberry raspberry blackberry, blueberry, is that they have low glycemic indexes, has tons of fiber, and they are something that uh that can
09:00
Speaker A
do wonders for your body. Uh, blueberries have tremendously high antioxidant uh, properties as well as all the other berries. But, uh, berries are a great cleanser. So, if you are, you know, want to make smoothies, always put berries in there. Uh, berries can
09:18
Speaker A
really do wonders for your system. Uh, it will really get you going. It will get your your intestines moving and it will really help cleanse you out. Uh, vegetables, as I talked about, it does have a lot of purification of the blood.
09:30
Speaker A
your broccoli, cabbage as as well as radishes. Uh I do love green leafy vegetables. You will get your, you know, your essential minerals and vitamins and nutrients out of that, but you can never go wrong with those vegetables because
09:42
Speaker A
uh that is definitely a lot of good insoluble fiber as well as a soluble fiber. Now, if you never heard of neem, um I've been using this for my gums uh for years. Uh just Google neem.
09:55
Speaker A
Basically, these have blood purifying properties. just helps uh lower the toxin levels in our system. Uh it actually is a great great blood purifier. It has an antifungal, antiviral, and it's a great uh type of thing that uh you can gargle with. Uh
10:11
Speaker A
they have them in different formulations. You can Google it or actually go on Amazon and uh gargle with this neem. Um this neem actually prevents periodontal disease. Uh, it can actually help the gums, help take away pain, take away those toothaches.
10:26
Speaker A
Something I thought I would share with you. Um, black coffee, as I talked about before, basil leaves, apple cider vinegar are all excellent, as well as ginger. Now, I'm a big ginger guy. Um, make yourself a little shot of ginger. There's nothing
10:43
Speaker A
like ginger. It's so healing. Has great anti-inflammatory effects in there. Um and again if if you are facing issues with sugar problems uh you might have been you might be insulin resistant or pre-diabetic get in the habit of start
10:58
Speaker A
adding more cinnamon particularly salon cinnamon uh that cinnamon will help balance out your glucose to stay normal glucose levels and make you more insulin sensitive to help reverse that insulin resistance. And I cannot stress more than anything out of anything is get
11:14
Speaker A
your sleep. That's right. Um, sleep is so important. Our our cells are dying through the day. They need to be replenished, rehealed. Uh, those people who uh even do intermittent fasting, it may not be complete 16 hours, 16 to 8,
11:28
Speaker A
but you may you may diverse it to your own time, but remember when you when you get that time in between those meals, your body goes through autophagy, it starts healing and repairing, and that's a real powerful thing for you. So all in
11:41
Speaker A
all when you look at your symptoms of uh tiredness, sluggishness, uh dermatitis, psoriasis, uh gastritis, constipation, bloatedness, uh foggess in the brain, it all is directly tied in to your diet uh towards uh toxicity within your system. uh and
12:06
Speaker A
it's something that can definitely be helped by changing up your diet, doing the right thing. But these are the five things when it comes down to your system. One is resting your organs through fasting. Intermittent fasting is extremely healthy for you. Sometimes
12:21
Speaker A
water fasting, water and lemon. And there's different degrees in how you can go about that and stimulating your liver to drive out those toxins. And that's why I'm big with the water, apple cider vinegar, uh as well as uh uh the lemon
12:35
Speaker A
citric acid. The citric acid is extremely powerful. You can actually use limes. Very very powerful help increase paristalsis. Uh promoting elimination through the intestines, the kidneys as well as the skin. Uh sweating, saunas are all good. Uh but again, hydrating is
12:52
Speaker A
is so so important. I cannot highly stress it. And the fourth is improving your circulation of your blood. We get that through exercise. That's going to actually get the pump moving. It's going to get everything driving out and
13:03
Speaker A
everything cleansed. Uh that's so important. And lastly is refueling your body with those healthy nutrients uh that we just talked about. So I really hope that uh this uh video serves you well and please share with your friends
13:17
Speaker A
and family. uh we just kind of gathered important things to hopefully wake us up that if we're not doing these things and we start adding this to our diet or making these little miscellaneous changes that we never really thought
13:30
Speaker A
existed in ourselves, I really uh feel that we can make some big changes for our health. Anyways, uh please share this video with your friends and family.
