What the video covers

  • João Nogueira shares his strategy for getting 100,000 views on Instagram reels based on his personal success growing an account from zero to 234K followers in under 7 months.
  • The main reason videos go viral is because they evoke an emotional reaction from viewers, prompting engagement like watching fully, rewatching, sharing, saving, commenting, or liking.
  • Common misconceptions like shadow banning or algorithm bias are debunked; the real issue is often poor content quality.
  • To trigger emotional reactions, content must attack viewers' identity either positively or negatively, but positive attacks are recommended to avoid hate.
  • People want to feel unique and superior, so vague but relatable statements that affirm their identity work well to create engagement.
  • Examples include statements that make viewers feel smart, special, or part of an elite group, which leads to viral success.
  • João illustrates this with viral videos targeting women with high IQs and men who are secretly very smart, both resonating deeply with their audiences.
  • The algorithm rewards videos that generate strong reactions by pushing them to more users, increasing views exponentially.
  • João offers personal mentorship for Instagram growth and monetization via direct message on Instagram.
  • He emphasizes authenticity by not cutting videos and showing behind-the-scenes moments to build trust with his audience.

Answers

Questions about this video

Why am I not getting views on my Instagram reels?

The main reason is that your content is not triggering an emotional reaction from viewers. It's not due to shadow banning or algorithm bias but because the content quality does not engage people enough to watch, share, or interact.

How can I make my Instagram reel go viral?

Create content that attacks or affirms your audience's identity positively, making them feel unique or superior. This emotional connection encourages engagement, which the Instagram algorithm rewards by showing your video to more people.

What kind of statements work best to get reactions on reels?

Vague but relatable statements that make viewers feel smart, special, or part of an elite group work best. These statements affirm their identity and prompt them to like, share, comment, or save the video.

Do you want to get 100,000 views on your next Instagram reel? I'm going to show you how, but first, I can't [ __ ] you, okay? The reason you're not getting any views is not because you're shadow banned. It's not because Instagram hates you, and it's definitely not because the algorithm is racist, okay? The reason you're not getting any views is simply because your content sucks. But that's okay. That's why you're watching this presentation, and by the end of it, hopefully, you will be one step closer to getting 100,000 views or more on your next reel, okay? Now, first off, before I explain this, why should you listen to me? Who the [ __ ] am I? If you don't know me, my name is João. I've been on social media for 6 years. I have one account with 1.8 million followers, and in January of this year, January 27th, I decided to start a brand new account. No shout-outs, no ads, no mentions, no nothing, just from scratch. And it is now August 13th of this same year, and I'm already at 234,000 followers. And the strategy that I'm going to show you here today is the main reason why I was able to blow up in such a short amount of time. So, please pay attention and hit that subscribe button so you don't miss the next video, okay? So, first off, what makes a video go viral? Think about three reasons why right now in your head. Just think about three reasons, okay? In reality, it's only one reason, but just think of three. Did you think about it? Cool. The only reason a video goes viral is because it gets an emotional reaction. That is it. If you are like me, you probably fall for the same problem I have. Where I make a video and I spend so much time just perfecting and I give so much value. It's funny. I just think it's an amazing video. I spent so much time. I poured my heart into it and then it flops and then you get pissed off and then you go on your Instagram Reels tab and you see a vague video of somebody saying some [ __ ] and it has 20 million views. It's frustrating, right? Let me show you why that video got 20 million views, okay? So, if the most important thing for a video to go viral is to get a reaction because when you get a reaction from people, they react to your video in the form of they stop scrolling so they can watch your video. They watch your video all the way through or they watch your video more than once. They share it to their story, share it to their friends, they save it, they comment or they like the video. That's what an emotional reaction does. It makes people react to your video. The algorithm records that and sends that video to more and more people. That's how a video goes viral. Okay? Now, just you explaining a topic, just you giving value or thinking you're saying something funny might not get a reaction out of people. So, how the [ __ ] do you get a reaction? Let me tell you right now. You get a reaction by attacking the one thing we all human beings protect to a T. Okay? You attack our—I was going to say ego, but in reality you attack our identity. We all have a certain identity of who we think we are. All of us, every single human being. Okay, let me just write that down. You attack identity. I think I spelled that right. I don't know. I make videos for a living. I'm kind of [ __ ]. You attack people's identity. Now, you can attack their identity negatively, which is kind of saying something bad and people are kind of hurt by that and they react to your video, or you can attack their identity positively, where you say something they're like, "Dude, yes, that's me. Holy [ __ ] Hell yes, I am a unique snowflake." Everybody wants to feel like a unique snowflake. Now, whether somebody reacts negatively or reacts positively to your video, it doesn't matter. A reaction is a reaction. That's it. If the Instagram algorithm records a reaction, it's going to go viral. But let's, let's, let's kind of stay away from getting people to hate us. Let's attack their identity in a good way. So, how do we attack their identity? We make them feel like the unique snowflake that we all want to be. You can say whatever you want. We all want to think we're unique. We all want to think that we are in the top 1% of people. Like, oh, like we are so freaking cool. That's what we all want. Okay? So, for example, if I say something, you can even try this. Like, this is the reason why fortune cookies work so well. Because it's something that it's a vague statement that doesn't really mean anything, but people take that and like, "You know what? Yeah, hell yeah, I am like that. That's definitely me." Also, my roommate Fernando is going downstairs in the back. He absolutely does not care about me filming a video, but that's okay. I'm not going to cut this because, as you know, I don't cut my videos. So, he'll be in the back, okay? Where was I talk—what was I saying? I hope Fernando doesn't make a lot of noise. [sighs] What was I saying about attacking identities? Yes, I can say a vague statement. And if you think it applies to you and it makes you feel like you are superior to somebody, you are going to have an emotional reaction to it. You are going to like it, share it, save it, comment, you're going to watch it again, you're going to put it to your story. I'll give you an example. One of the most viral videos I've ever had, it's kind of like the video that launched my first Instagram into success. And my first Instagram I talk about women's dating. But the one video I posted 'cause I've been posting for 2 years with nothing, with nothing good happening during 2 years. And then one day I posted a video that goes like this. Women with a higher IQ tend to stay single for longer because they rather be alone than to be with the wrong person. That video every single time I post that video it shoots to like 10 million. Why? Because they're not wrong. Like we want to feel like we are smart. We want to feel like we are unique. We want to feel like we don't want to feel like people take advantage of us. We want to feel like we want to rewire or change the narrative to make us look good in the story. So, by saying that I'm basically saying I'm not saying like, "Hey, you're not—I'm basically calming you down in a good way. I'm not saying, 'Hey, you're unlovable.' I'm saying, 'No, it's because you actually are smart and you would rather be alone than to be with the wrong person.' Like that's a good thing. Do you understand how like that's like, 'Oh [ __ ] you're right. I am [ __ ] smart and that's why I'm Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Hell yeah." I'll give you an example. On the men's content, the content where I post more men focused on this other Instagram, I made an Instagram saying or I made a post saying, "The most dangerous people are the people who don't even let you know, who are so smart that they don't even let you know that they're smart. You think they're stupid and they don't even care, but in reality they're so smart that they're levels ahead of you and they'll never let you know how smart you are." I'm paraphrasing. It wasn't exactly like that, but that's basically the gist of the video. It went [ __ ] astronomically viral and people started copying the video. But what did I do there? Hold on, this won't take more than 20 seconds. If you are getting a lot of value from this video and you want me to personally mentor you on how to grow your Instagram, how to monetize your Instagram, tell you exactly what to post, what not to post, and dissect every single one of your videos, DM me 777 on Instagram and we can chat. My Instagram is down below in the description of this video. Now, back to it. I basically said, "Hey, you, maybe you get bullied or maybe people attack you because they think you're dumb, but in reality, it's not that you're dumb, it's that you're so smart that you don't even let people know how smart you are." And trust me, when I And I'm not even saying that as like, oh, people are dumb and like they'll fall for anything. When I saw t

09:34
Speaker A
like, no, it's not negative, it's because you're so much of this that it looks like it's negative, but you just basically rewire the narrative, if that makes sense. So, you can do that with anything. You can take um
09:49

I don't know, like a fitness video. I I I'm not even going to think of examples right now, but if you just like talk to ChatGPT, like feed like transcribe this whole YouTube video, and talk to ChatGPT and say, "Hey, help
10:07

me This is my audience. This is who I'm trying to go after. These are the people that I I I want to sell to or want to appeal to.
10:15
Speaker A
Figure out a way that I can validate their identity." And it's going to give you so many like a list of like 20 to 50 topics that you can take each one of those topics and simply um just make more videos about them. Just
10:28
Speaker A
talk about them. It's super simple. It doesn't take more than you don't have to make each video more than like 15 seconds. That's what I do.
10:34
Speaker A
And literally, every video that I have, basically that's gone viral, is because I took something and I validated somebody's identity. I made them feel like they were that unique snowflake. Like it is impossible for our egos to not be soothed. It feels so good when
10:52
Speaker A
somebody soothes our ego. So, what do I do? I simply play into it. And that's why it goes viral. Now, the entire strategy, this is like this is like a little tiny like beginning of the entire aim strategy and what I teach people inside
11:09
Speaker A
of my program. My program is called Person of Interest. Um that's what I teach everybody. And now I do obviously, I do one-on-one coaching.
11:19
Speaker A
I mostly do group coaching. The group is killer. I teach you exactly everything you need to know about the aim strategy, about all these hacks. I give you my entire real hook framework. And yeah, I mean, the success speaks for itself. You
11:36
Speaker A
can look at all the testimonials. But, if you want to be part of this group, just DM me on Instagram. DM me 777 and I will know that you watched this video and you're like, "Oh [ __ ] Joel can
11:48

actually help me." Um and then potentially we'll talk about you getting into the group um and me helping you out personally. Cool? So, that's it for this video.
