So those that are here with us now, they've already been through the first round of that shortlisting process. Ah, so this is by invite only. So what do you expect out of here? We actually have no exact number in mind. So from those candidates that we get today, as long as they're meeting our expectations and meeting our requirements, they could actually be joining us at our training college in as soon as seven days.

So the type of personality we're looking for is somebody who is ambitious, outgoing, has a people-forward and teamwork mindset, and they thrive in that environment with a sparkling personality, of course, and somebody who's a bit of an aviation enthusiast like yourself, that can meet and exceed our customers' expectations. They will do.

Third time, yeah. And then what did you learn from the first and second time? Oh, first time I was very nervous. Oh my God, it's very cold in my breath. And then what I learned is to be very confident. So still I'm trying. So this time hopefully I'm going to make it.

Speaker A

and I have to you know I have to make myself more eligible to get this job here I found another candidate what's your name hael my name is hael from where I'm from Brazil and why you want to become a cabin crew I believe that

Speaker A

I know the assessment is actually underway now, but before we go there, I want to know you a little bit more, Drew. Where are you from? Brisbane, Australia? I'm from Sydney. Hi, we're friends from Australia. I think you were a cabin crew before this, right? Right. I was. So I worked for a domestic airline in Australia, and the motivation was so that I would have the experience to eventually join Emirates, right, joining an international airline.

Speaker A

Anusha from which country I'm from Nepal is this your first time apply for em cab cre no this is my third time third time yeah and then what did you learn from the first and second time oh first time

Speaker A

So tell us about your recruitment process. Well, I'd always been buzzing to join Emirates, so when I jumped on the Emirates group careers website, I was able to see that you needed to be at least 21. So I gained any customer service experience I could, and eventually when I was old enough, I went to the assessment day, and I will never forget how nervous I was on that day. There were 200 other applicants, and we went through a very similar process, group activities, and I had my final assessment, waited patiently for my golden call, and were so excited to receive it.

Speaker A

actually underway now but before we go there I want to know you a little bit more Drew where you where you from Brisbane Australia I'm from Sydney hi we're friends from Australia I think you were a cabin crew before this right

Speaker A

Well, the candidate just entered a room. Assessment is coming up. Thank you very much. So 261 to 271. So the first assessment turned out to be checking your body heights. You need to be minimum 160 cm, and your hands can reach 212 cm. That's where the overhead bins on the aircraft are. And so they're going through all that before proceeding for more rounds.

Speaker A

join Emirates so when I jumped on the Emirates group careers website I was able to see that you needed to be at least 21 so I gained any customer service experience I could and eventually when I was old enough I went

Speaker A

So now they're breaking them into smaller groups, doing an exercise, given a card, and describing whatever is on the card. But you really can tell from these exercises there are personalities, whether they're nervous, because some people just keep moving in their postures, and some people are standing still, some people are very focused, some people will talk longer, some people would talk shorter. So I'm going to check with our recruiter soon to see what kind of qualities they're after out of this exercise.

Speaker A

golden call and we're so excited to receive [Music] it well the candidate just entered a room assessment is coming up thank you very much so 261 to 271 so the first assessment turned out to be checking your body Heights you

Speaker A

You are part of that group, so I'm going to give you this card. You were the group number two. You just earned my respect as you were interviewing 65 people in just one hour. Each of them has 30, 40 seconds. What were you looking for, the qualities out of 30, 40 seconds? Well, we had some incredible candidates just then, and you're right, it was an absolute rush. But some of the qualities that really stand out to me is someone's positivity, being able to have that Emirates smile, and I saw a great teamwork element across the board, which is such an essential for us. So teamwork and the smile and personality, and also if they know aviation, right? Of course, we did have some aviation junkies amongst the group. They have a true passion for the aircraft. It's pretty powerful from a 30-second person just talking about themselves, and you can tell everything from just 30 seconds.

Speaker A

smaller group doing an exercise given a card and describe whatever is on the card but you really can tell from these exercise there are personalities whether they're nervous because some people are just keep moving on their postures and

Speaker A

Of course we can. That's what we're experienced in doing, and as well, that sparkling personality that we think will shine on board really does start to show through. Wow, that's quite crowded. What happened right now is after the initial group exercise, they're waiting for the results. Some candidates will be successful for the next round, and some will actually go home.

Speaker A

exercise you are part of that group so I'm going to give you this card you were the group number two you just earned my respect as you were interviewing 65 people in just one hour each of them has

here's the best deal for today's viewer get surf sh vvpn at serv.com Sam enter promote code Sam you will get more than 80% off and four additional months of subscriptions for free this video is sponsored by surf shark while the cabin crew job may

Speaker A

appear to be quite glamorous but flying around the world can also be exhausting the jet lag is real across different time zones fly attendant perform difficult work from ensuring safety and providing Hospitality in a flying environment and all done while wearing

Speaker A

wearing a polite smile sometimes people get a little bit Negative they say it's like once you're a cabin crew you're always a cabin crew do you believe there is a career progression as a cabin crew I think once you're a cabin crew it

Speaker A

always lives with you but it doesn't mean you always have to be a cabin crew and we're so lucky there's so many different career paths within Emirates so you can explore outside of being cabin crew but we've got crew that have

Speaker A

so many different passions I know crew that are musicians they're athletes they're artists they love to do things outside of the and Korea and it's nice that you can combine both and I even know an airline CEO from Japan was a

Speaker A

cabin crew and now she's the airline CEO but I have to say one thing is true though once you have Aviation inside you you always remain an AF you always love Aviation so they just got everyone back in the room and announced that who

Speaker A

actually passed through the initial round so there's a lot of people are happy of course there are some disappointment as well some people are leaving the room so what's next now Jun so those candidates that were successful they're going on to take their digital

Speaker A

English test and if they're successful past this um tomorrow and the following day they'll be scheduled their final interviews now Drew for those who didn't make it right now can they reapply would they able to make it again absolutely so

Speaker A

these candidates today they can reapply in 3 months whether that be in Dubai or anywhere in the world and even if they don't wish to apply again we have so many other careers within Emir to explore Hala did you make it no I

Speaker A

couldn't make it again yeah but is there anything you learn from this next time perhaps you can try I have learned and I will apply again in thank you so much happy story Rafel you made it very happy first round is

Speaker A

done yeah second round English test go back there good luck Good Luck Good Luck we would love to congratulate you passing the group of te more time so the next thing you can expect is that we will take an English

Speaker A

test now what you can anticipate is that this English test is going to be digital so this is being delivered to your inboxes as we speak but before you check it I just want to let you know what you

Speaker A

can expect from the exam now the exam is going to be 30 questions all of the questions will be multiple choice but you're going to find that the first 18 questions are fill in the blank so you can expect to see a sentence and you

Speaker A

just need to correct the right word that would fit in that sentence moving on from then those last 12 questions are going to be comprehension so what that means is that you'll be reading a passage and then you'll be selecting the

Speaker A

correct answer from there right so all the candidates now are separated and now doing it English test on the spot so Jud this is what it looks like so this English test is sent to their inboxes what they can find is that it is a 30

Speaker A

question exam or multiple choice but it's divided between questions where you would fill in the blank and as well comprehension questions so the test is 45 minutes what will happen after this so the candidates will receive their results after this exam and if they are

Speaker A

successful there'll then be scheduled their digital final interview over the coming days okay wish everybody good luck Drew having her breaking assessment you know every time when the camera's on Drew is giving the perfect recruiter answer you're always like this I figured

Speaker A

like I want you to give a casual answer but you are just the perfect person right I'm just so used to being in front of my candidates and then as well once you turn the camera on it's it's so hard

Speaker A

to switch it off as well right um the reason I came here is because a couple years ago I get a chance to visit the amoris aviation training College I've seen the crew went through rigorous safety training you know cprs jumping

Speaker A

out of slide going to the pool ditching and uh even helping assisting of Passenger giving birth although that's not recommended to fly with heavily pregnant people and also all the hospitality Services 8 weeks of app initial training is waiting the

Speaker A

successful candidate out of today's process so this video is not about helping you to cheat or helping you to prepare your exams here but it's more just giving you a transparency and what goes on behind the door at the

Speaker A

assessment day and I wish every cabin crew a good luck and happy Landings [Music]
