How to translate a recording into another language
In shortOpen a recording, tap ⋯ → Translate (on the web, the language button at the top) and pick a language: the text, the summary and the notes (if there are any) are translated. Translating does not use minutes, and the original stays next to it.
How to translate a recording
iPhone and iPad
- Open a recording and tap ⋯ at the top of the screen.
- Choose Translate, then the language from the list.
- Wait for the translation to finish. It appears on the text tab.
- To go back, open Translate again and choose Original.
Android
- Open a recording and tap ⋯ at the top of the screen.
- Choose Translate, then the language from the list.
- Wait for the translation to finish. It appears on the text tab.
- To go back, open Translate again and choose Original.
Web
- Open a recording and click the language button at the top of the screen: before any translation it reads Original. On a narrow screen open the Translation tab instead.
- Under “Translate into…” pick a language, or Another language… to search the full list.
- Wait about a minute: the strip above the text says “Translating into …”, then “Showing the translation: …”. The translated notes are on the Translation tab.
- To go back, click Show the original or choose the original in the same menu.
If the translation does not work
- "Too many requests" — the number of translations per hour is limited, try again in an hour.
- "Today's AI limit is used up" — come back later, the usage cap applies per day.
- "Translation timed out" — try again.
A recording cannot be translated into its own language. If you rebuilt the notes after translating, a banner "The notes were updated — the translation is out of date" appears: tap Update. To download a translation, use ⋯ → Export and copy and choose the translation language in the window.
In the web version a translation that did not work shows “The translation did not work out” or “The translation seems stuck” with Try again. While a translation is shown, Export saves the translated text as TXT or VTT; SRT exists for the original only.
Live voice conversation is a different feature: the Translator tile on the home screen of the app; the web version does not have it.
