How to make a quiz from a recording

In shortOpen a recording and tap Quiz, or pick a recording in the Quizzes tile: SozAI prepares 5 to 15 questions from the text. A quiz is free and does not use minutes. It needs at least 200 characters of text.

How to take a quiz

iPhone and iPad

  1. On the home screen tap the Quizzes tile, then New quiz from a recording, and pick a recording. Or open a recording and tap Quiz on the Notes tab.
  2. Wait for the questions. You can close the screen — the quiz will appear in the Quizzes list.
  3. Pick one of four options. The app shows "Correct" or the right answer; Why? explains it, Open in the text takes you to the place in the recording.
  4. Tap Next, and on the last question See the result.

Android

  1. On the home screen tap the Quizzes tile, then New quiz from a recording, and pick a recording. Or open a recording and tap Quiz on the Notes tab.

Web

  1. Open a recording, go to the Quiz tab and click + New quiz. Every quiz you have is listed in Quizzes in the side panel; its New quiz from a recording button takes you to your recordings.
  2. Wait while it says “Preparing questions…”: usually under a minute. You can leave: the quiz will be on this tab and in Quizzes.
  3. Click Start the quiz and pick an option with the mouse or keys 1–4. The screen marks the answer Correct or shows the right one, with a Why block and a “Listen from 04:12” link that opens the recording at that moment.
  4. Press Enter or Next question, and on the last question Show the result.

After the quiz

Add mistakes to flashcards puts the wrong answers into the recording's deck (how review works). Retake runs the same quiz again, New quiz makes a new one with different questions. If you leave in the middle, the result is not saved.

In the web version the result screen has Add mistakes to flashcards, Retake and All quizzes. A new quiz with different questions is made with + New quiz on the recording’s Quiz tab; there is no retry button there, so after “Could not prepare the questions” click it again.

If a quiz does not work out

  • "This recording is too short for a quiz" — a quiz needs at least 200 characters of text.
  • "Could not prepare the questions" — tap Retry, the questions will be new.
  • "3 quizzes for this recording today" — retake one of them or come back tomorrow.
  • "Too many requests" — try again in an hour.
