The girl wasn't paying attention in class and got called in to see the teacher with her parents again. She wanted her brother James to go, but he refused without hesitation. So, Anna set her sights on her brother's friend Mike. Even though Mike asked which school she went to, he never gave her a definite answer before he left.

So, the next day in class, she couldn't concentrate at all. She spent the whole period wondering if Mike would actually show up. After class, the teacher reminded Anna she'd be waiting in the office for her parents. When all the other students had left and Mike still wasn't there, Anna decided to go see the teacher by herself. She was stomping down the hallway in a bad mood when she slipped and fell. Suddenly, a pair of clean sneakers appeared in front of her.
