Okay, what is going on, YouTube? So, with league just around the corner, I've personally needed a re-examining of what I'm going to be crafting on league start and how I'm going to craft my league start gear. Which made me think maybe you guys
Speaker A
want to see that as well. So, I'm going to go over how to craft all of your martial weapons, all of your staves and wands, that kind of stuff in this video today, and hopefully that will be helpful
Speaker A
for you guys. So, before we really get into the meat and potatoes of how you actually do all the crafting stuff, I need to talk about the bases really quickly, and this is incredibly important. Let's just use bows for
Speaker A
example, right? These are pretty much applicable to all of your martial weapons. I'll go over wands and staves in a second as well. But, if we just talk about bows, what do you want on your bow base? So, there's pretty much three
Speaker A
important things, right? Or sorry, four important things. You have the physical damage roll, you have the crit roll, you have the base attack speed, and then you have an implicit or a lack of implicit. So, again, an example
Speaker A
of a good implicit would be the Gemini bow, 50% chance of firing additional arrows. This is essentially like 50% more damage if you only fire one arrow, right? This could be absolutely game-breaking depending on the build, depending on how many arrows
Speaker A
you can actually fire and the rest of your gear. You want to find a base that has an exceptional combination of these four things, right? So, the meta is going to be Gemini, Warmonger, and Obliterator. Gemini is insanely broken
Speaker A
if you don't have that much passing arrow chance already and you want to fire multiple arrows. Something like Lightning Arrow, for example, really values additional arrows, right? It has a decent fizz roll, it has normal base crit chance, and it has a decent attacks
Speaker A
per second. Warmonger bow doesn't have a great implicit. It has better attacks per second, but more importantly has a much higher base fizz, which is incredibly important because all this base fizz gets scaled multiplicatively with percentage fizz, which is going to be
Speaker A
pretty much necessary for all of your crafts. The third one is going to be Obliterator bow, and this is way, way higher base fizz, a little bit lower attacks per second, same crit, but also has this negative implicit of 50%
Speaker A
reduced projectile range. I shot did not care about this, so this was pretty much just the meta. Like you were just going Obliterator or nothing because the base fizz was so damn high. A lot of
Speaker A
you guys probably already know this, and if you don't, you should know this. But on league start, we can throw all that information pretty much out the window because unfortunately the premium tier bases are just not going to be
Speaker A
accessible on league start, at least not cheaply. But for the most part, you're going to have to settle on if this is tier one, you're going to settle on a tier two bow which is like cavalry bow, right? Or guardian bow, something like
Speaker A
that. It's pretty close. It's like what? 10% worse? It's actually very, very similar. But for some reason, people only think of this as a tier two, and guardian bow, same thing. Like very, very similar fizz rolls to Warmonger. Even a slightly
Speaker A
better, slightly lower attack speed, but like it's like 5 to 10% worse. But these bows are priced like sometimes 3x more expensive. Don't just tunnel vision on the tier one bows. Be okay with the tier two bows. I would say any of
Speaker A
these bases are fine. Cavalry bow, guardian bow, Warmonger is awesome. Obliterator even better. Gemini also good depending on the build. So that's number one, the base is clear, okay?
Speaker A
Next, what you're going to need to do is you're going to need to buy a magic base. It has to be magic because the most broken and pretty much the only way to craft on a budget in PoE 2 is going
Speaker A
to be using these essences. So the way essences work is they upgrade a magic item to a rare and they add a guaranteed modifier. So it's like a regal orb that gives you a guaranteed roll. In this case, it is tier three flat fizz, okay?
Speaker A
And flat fizz is super important because flat fizz has a really interesting scaling. So if you look at the PoE 2 DB here, which, you know, shows you all the stats for all the rolls, you can get flat fizz or for example for like
Speaker A
I shot, you can get flat cold damage, right? If you look at the cold damage roll, it's 53 plus 80 divided by two which is the average, right? So that's around 65 cold damage on average. If you look at flat fizz, it's going to be 24
Speaker A
plus 42, which is 33 physical damage on average. A little bit less than double the value for cold damage over physical damage. The reason why fizz is so broken though is specifically because flat fizz scales multiplicatively with physical
Speaker A
damage. So, if we get a tier three percentage physical roll here as well, this 154% makes it so that your flat fizz is essentially two and a half times its value.
Speaker A
So, this 33 number becomes like closer to 80, which is like 20% more than the cold damage roll. As a result, we are going to be specifically targeting these two rolls because they have that interaction. With that being said, you
Speaker A
can only add flat fizz onto a martial weapon, you can't add percentage fizz. As a result, we're going to be starting off our craft with a magic item that has a decent roll of percentage fizz. Now, this roll can change based off of like
Speaker A
what the market looks like, but on league start, these tier four fizz rolls with like 120% fizz on a magic bow on a decent base like guardian cavalry, that kind of thing, etc. are going to be like around a div, which is kind of
Speaker A
expensive, but one div is all it takes to craft this because the rest of the pieces are quite cheap, okay? You might be thinking tier four fizz on a magic bow on a tier two base is one div,
Speaker A
that's a damn scam. Guys, that's what I thought, too. Everything you know about the economy on league start, throw it out the window. Everything that you think should be priced at a certain point is just completely wrong, okay?
Speaker A
The end result of this craft is going to be something that you're going to think is kind of damn. I guarantee you it's worth like four or five div and it only cost like one or two div to make. And
Speaker A
I'm not just pulling this out of my ass, I made like 60 div on day one doing this exact craft last league across multiple different bases. So, we've established what rolls we want, what base we have, now it's just time to buy it. So, what
Speaker A
the filter we're actually searching for here is cavalry bow. Cannot stress this enough, it doesn't have to be specifically cavalry, you can go guardian, you can even go lower tier, or you can go higher tier depending on the
Speaker A
price, but you're going to want an acceptable bow, and you're going to want to have two things in the filter. You're going to type in the bow, you're going to type in that it's magic, and then you're going to want to specify that it
Speaker A
has increased physical damage of at least 120. This is tier four fizz. So, all we do from this point is we just essence of abrasion to add on guaranteed tier three fizz.
Speaker A
Boom. So, we have tier three percentage fizz, tier three flat fizz. Off the rip, this bow is already really good. There's one additional thing that we can do to deterministically give us another good roll, and that is using jaw
Speaker A
bones. Specifically because you can use this omen of the leech to guarantee an omni omni modifier, and then you can use an omen of dextral necromancy to guarantee a BS suffix. So, now when we go to see what mods we can roll,
Speaker A
suffixes that have omni omni modifiers are going to be spirit reservation, attack speed, and then pierce. And if you look here, the roll for attack speed is 12 to 18%, and if you look here, normal attack speed has a roll of 17 to
Speaker A
19% for tier one. So, you can have mid roll tier one attack speed guaranteed onto your bow, which is absolutely broken. So, that's what we're going to do.
Speaker A
So, one thing to consider is that this 12 to 18% roll on the omni omni modifier is pretty significant, right? Like 12% is 12% is tier three, and 18% is tier one, right? So, as a result, although you are guaranteed to hit the attack
Speaker A
speed roll on your desecration, if omen of echoes are cheap enough, it would be worth it to use one just to guarantee that you have like a decent roll of attack speed. So, we unveil here, and we get 16 17% attack speed. Settled. That's
Speaker A
amazing. That's in the like the 90th percentile for the attack speed that you can get. However, say this is like a 12% attack speed roll, you could reroll one more time to see something better. 12 to 15%, that's exceptional. And that's
Speaker A
pretty much all you have to do. It's It's just that straightforward. It's It's one of the simplest crafts in the game. You guarantee three pretty much BIS mods on your martial weapon or on your bow, and you're pretty much just
Speaker A
good to go from this point. Unfortunately, Path of Exile 2 still requires a little bit more like in terms of crafting mechanics. So, this is as far as we can go like deterministically on this bow. All we can really do now is
Speaker A
exalt slam the last two mods on. Now, you're going to want to use greater exalt slams because, you know, it's just better, but keep in mind on league start, these greater exalts are going to be worth like 10 exalts each, and
Speaker A
divines are going to be worth like 50 exalts. So, it's going to be like a fifth of a divine per exalt. So, it might not actually be worth it to use the greater exalts. It's completely up to you to determine. So, what you do is
Speaker A
you can either just double slam the greater exalt, or very importantly, depending on the price of omens, you can use a omen of greater exaltation. These are usually half the price of a greater exalt. So, it's almost always worth it
Speaker A
to use one of these omens if you are using a greater exalt. So, then you just greater exalt once, and it essentially applies two rolls. We lucked our dog hit plus two proj on the suffix, and then hybrid fizz on the prefix. This bow on
Speaker A
league start, I [ __ ] you not, is worth like probably 10 div, and it only cost like one or two div to make. It's the upside the downside of POE 2 crafting is that it's incredibly simple right now to
Speaker A
do as long as you know like the OP things that you can do. But, at the same time, that is its drawback. Because it's so simple, there aren't really ways to, you know, cheaply craft amazing pieces of gear without getting just lucky like
Speaker A
we did here. If this didn't have plus two proj, if it just had nothing here, and if this was hybrid fizz was like tier six like fire damage something, we would be more than happy with that, and that would
Speaker A
still be worth a few div. And you would probably have to settle and buy something like this on trade on league start, or have to buy something way worse for like a div, which is like how much it would cost you to craft this
Speaker A
yourself. So, I highly recommend that you you self-craft. One caveat though is that for maces, you don't have this Amunamu attack speed roll as your suffix. What do you do now?
Speaker A
There's two things you can do. Number one, do you even care about attack speed on maces? Probably for some builds yes, but for a lot of mace builds you actually don't care about attack speed.
Speaker A
You can get penetration, which is an incredibly premium stat that you can guarantee as well. Or, if you don't care about pen, you would just want to prefix desecrate and just get some sort of like, you know, flat roll here. You
Speaker A
could go for a suffix desecrate, but at the same time, like think about this.
Speaker A
Prefix desecrate, you have wed, you have hybrid fizz, you have lightning, cold, and fire damage. The only brick in miss is going to be accuracy, right? Or one of the desecrated mods. But for suffixes, all you really would want
Speaker A
would be like attack speed, melee skills, or crit damage bonus or chance. But for maces, a lot of times you don't even want crit. So, it's like the value proposition for for going for a prefix is way higher than for a suffix. For
Speaker A
quarterstaffs, it's kind of the same case. You can go for weapon pen or you can go for one of the prefixes. So, that is martial weapons done. Let's go over and talk about wands. So, I'm going to say wands, but I mean wands or staff. In
Speaker A
the early league especially, staffs are just way better than wands. Unless you specifically need a shield for your build, you should 100% be going for a staff because for a staff, you only have to craft one item, whereas for a wand,
Speaker A
you have to craft a wand and a shield. And often times, the rolls that you can get on a staff are going to be better than the rolls you can get for a wand and a shield anyways, unless you get to
Speaker A
the very, very high ends. And let's talk about the bases first. The bases for the staffs almost 100% of the time don't really matter that much. Like, it's nice to have like unleash or it's nice to have sigil power on your staff, but
Speaker A
these don't matter cuz you can always just weapon swap and use these things. Not a big deal at all. You can pretty much go on any staff base, especially league start does not matter. So, then what are the mods that we're going to
Speaker A
want? So, the way you scale most caster builds is through spell damage, gain as extra, and then more importantly, levels to your spells. So, it's incredibly important to get good levels to your spells. There's two ways to go about
Speaker A
crafting these. Number one is you start from a magic base, and that is really, really simple to do. So, going to trade again, we're going to look for a staff.
Speaker A
We're going to look for it to be magic, and then we're going to look for it to have plus spell skills of whatever elemental or chaos damage type that we do. I think the meta is probably going to be lightning spell skills again or
Speaker A
maybe cold. So, let's just type in lightning here. It can roll all the way up to plus seven, but plus seven is going to be mega expensive on league start. You're probably going to be happy with a plus five, maybe a plus six. You
Speaker A
are probably, best case scenario, going to find a staff like this with just a suffix, no prefix. If you can get a damaging prefix, awesome, but if you are stuck with mana, which is probably the worst possible roll that you have on
Speaker A
your prefix, that's also not the worst thing ever. You probably will have to settle for that cuz usually there will be a premium, but I highly recommend if it's only like a little bit more expensive to go for a good good prefix.
Speaker A
So, let's assume that this thing costs one div on league start instead of one exalt, and let's go ahead and buy that.
Speaker A
From here, you kind of have two options. It's not really like with bows because cast speed can make your build feel way smoother, much more so than attack speed can. So, you have two options here. You can go with alacrity here to essentially
Speaker A
give you 38 to 43% cast speed on a staff, or you can go with sorcery to get 149 to 188 spell damage on the staff.
Speaker A
These are both substantial numbers, and you can't go wrong picking either one. However, I do think the meta generally favors spell damage, and especially if you have a damaging prefix already like gain, then the spell damage is going to
Speaker A
be even better because then you can just desecrate your third prefix. We're just going to add the essence on.
Speaker A
Unfortunately, low rolled the spell damage. That's okay, that's going to happen. And from here, we want to guarantee our last prefix. So, we could just slam an exalt on our prefix, but if you look, mana has 11K waiting. You're
Speaker A
blocking spell damage, you're blocking another one of these stats. So, it's like a one in three and a half, one in three chance that you're going to be getting mana here. It's incredibly likely on a slam. As a result, I
Speaker A
recommend that if you have mana on here already, right? You don't have like a premium staff that has like gain, you have just normal mana, you're going to want to just prefix exalt slam.
Speaker A
Because if you block mana, almost all of the other rolls are exceptional. And that allows you to desecrate a suffix and look for um cast speed or crit chance. If you don't have mana, and you instead you have two good prefixes, I
Speaker A
recommend that we grab a omen of ancestral necromancy here, and then we want to get a preserved jawbone. You could use ancient, but this is early league budget craft. I don't think it really makes sense to uh spend
Speaker A
like an a div or two for that. So, one fun fact about caster weapons is that if you have plus lightning spell skills as your suffix, you cannot roll fire damage, you cannot roll cold damage, You cannot roll chaos damage. You cannot
Speaker A
roll physical damage. You can only roll lightning damage. So, this waiting is actually closer to 3K. If you have mana blocked here, you pretty much have a 50% chance of rolling gain as extra, which is like probably one of the best possible rolls you can
Speaker A
get on a staff, or a decent roll of whatever damage that you have. In this case, it'd be lightning damage. And since we're using greater exalt orbs, they have a minimum ilvl modifier of 35, which means that we're going to be
Speaker A
getting tier four or higher of our roll, which is also pretty nice. Which is just to say, if you have mana blocked, the rolls that you're going to be getting are for the most part going to be very,
Speaker A
very nice. So, it is worth it just to raw dog exalt slam your prefix. However, if you don't have mana blocked, like you don't already have mana on your staff, you're probably going to want to desecrate a prefix because of how broken
Speaker A
the prefixes are and how low likely it is to actually hit a good suffix.
Speaker A
So, we have the double prefix, double good prefix. So, we're going to be using a omen of cintel necromancy and a jawbone. The omen of cintel necromancy just guarantees that we have the jawbone desecration on the prefix.
Speaker A
Okay, so one thing to consider is that you don't have a guaranteed roll on your prefix. So, it's very, very worth it to use an omen of echo here.
Speaker A
This is tier two gain as cold. That's not even a settle. That's like the ideal situation, the ideal outcome. 50% gain as extra cold, that's amazing. But assuming that we got something [ __ ] here, we can just reroll again. There's
Speaker A
a lot of things you can settle on. This is like the lowest tier gain as lightning. This is kind of a low tier lightning damage. And then this is gain as extra chaos damage. That's acceptable. We can take that as well. Um
Speaker A
chaos damage is one of those rolls that actually is deceptively good because most monsters in the game don't have any sort of chaos res. So, we don't unfortunately have chaos scaling if you're using an elemental build, but it
Speaker A
will actually give a pretty significant amount of value. And then this is pretty much all we can do deterministically on our staff, but it's pretty solid, you know? We have plus five lightning skills. We have double gain here. And
Speaker A
then we have tier three spell damage. So, this is phenomenal. All All have left to do is slam. I would say like if exalt orbs are like a fifth of a div, which they oftentimes are on these start, it might not be worth it to use
Speaker A
these. For the most part, we're not going to be hitting here. It's like very low likelihood for us to hit. It might just be a slam a normal exalt angle.
Speaker A
And a lot of times you're going to end up with suffixes like this. To look here, the odds that you actually hit something decent on the suffixes are quite low. It's a what? 9K waiting out of minus this 60K. So, it's like a one in
Speaker A
six to hit. So, pretty unlikely to hit. For wands, I'm just going to run through this really quickly. It's virtually the same thing. There's only one real difference here. For the trade filter, it's going to be wand, magic, and then
Speaker A
for our spell skills, it's going to be four, maybe even three. Uh the max roll is five.
Speaker A
You obviously also want to look for having like a decent prefix, but if you don't, it's also like not the biggest deal either. You can also add in a not filter here and check to see if the prices are acceptable for not mana as a
Speaker A
prefix. Uh so, you can get wands without any prefix. That's acceptable. It's probably the best you're going to get for cheap on trade, and then you're going to have to slam it on yourself. Uh a lot of times when you do this, you're going to
Speaker A
be hitting mana. Like you're hitting mana a lot of the time for these crafts, so that's unfortunate. You use a perfect aug. Realistically, you're probably going to be using a greater aug. We get gain this extra, that's amazing. And
Speaker A
then from here, what you can actually do is you can use the alacrity instead of the sorcery. I'm going to explain that in a second. So, you alacrity for guaranteed tier three cast speed, and then we're going to grab a prefix
Speaker A
desecration omen. We're going to grab an omen of the leech to guarantee the amunamu modifier. And then now when we desecrate, we're going to guarantee a prefix amunamu modifier. And if you see here on wands, they actually have to
Speaker A
this elemental damage roll, which unless you specifically have spell damage scaling like for for example demon form, it is virtually the same thing as spell damage. So, we can go and grab 74 to 89% spell damage, which is roughly tier
Speaker A
three. And then it's the same thing as before. You can use an echo here to just increase the likelihood that you have a decent roll on your elemental damage roll. But this is a lot less necessary than on the staves because you can
Speaker A
guarantee the roll here. So, spell damage here, that's perfect. So, we just got the elemental damage.
Speaker A
That is the perfect thing that we could get there. It is max roll as well. And as you can see, we have four pretty much best rolls. And from here, again, there's not much we can really do.
Speaker A
Unfortunately, there is no like sort of determinist to craft here anymore, but we're going to have to bring out the handy dandy greater exalt orb, and then the handy dandy greater exaltation omen, which just makes our greater exalt work
Speaker A
twice. And then we just have to slam and pray we don't hit mana. We did not hit mana. We hit another gain. That's amazing. And we hit aspects. That is fine. If you have one good suffix, that is more than enough besides like your
Speaker A
plus four, because the odds that we actually hit crit here is like a 1/15 or something like that. So, this is probably best case scenario. Not hitting the mana was just like the high roll that we needed. Considering that this is
Speaker A
blocked from the elemental damage, it's 11k out of 30k, so it's over a one in three chance to hit mana. So, two in three of the time, you're going to hit something nice here. And if you don't hit mana, like most of the rolls are
Speaker A
good, like before on the staff. Yeah, that's all there really is for the video. Super easy way that you craft your weapons early league. These might not look amazing, but I'm telling you, day one, day two, this is going to be
Speaker A
the best that you're going to get, and this is the cheapest way to do it is to self-craft it. Thank you guys so much for watching. If you guys like the video, please like, comment, subscribe, all that good stuff. It really helps out
Speaker A
with the algorithm, and it costs you guys nothing. If you guys like this content for like the early league stuff, let me know in the comments, too. I was thinking about doing another video how you craft all of like your helmets, your
Speaker A
body armor, your belts, your gloves, your boots, like that kind of stuff. Your feedback definitely determines the kind of videos that I make. With that being said, thank you guys so much for watching. I hope to see you guys again
Speaker A
in the next one.
