Updated 6 October 2026 · 2 min read
In shortOpen WhatsApp Web and click Transcribe under a voice message — the text appears in the chat. The extension uses the minutes of your SozAI account; to keep your transcripts and minutes, sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email.

How to transcribe a voice message

  1. Open web.whatsapp.com and a chat with a voice message.
  2. Click ↯ Transcribe under the message bubble.
  3. If the extension asks, press ▶ on the message once and try again.
  4. The text appears in the chat. You can take it with the Copy transcript button.
  5. All results are in the Your transcripts window: click the extension icon. It has search, export to TXT, Markdown and SRT, and delete.

Signing in

Without signing in, the extension works as a guest on this browser with its own free minutes. To see the transcripts in the app, click Sign in in the extension window and choose Continue with Google, or enter your email and click Send code — a 6-digit code arrives. After you sign in, the browser does not become a guest again: when the session ends, the extension asks you to sign in.

What is sent

Only the one voice message you clicked. The extension does not send message texts or chat names.

If the audio did not load

Reload WhatsApp Web and click the button again. For minutes and limits, see this article.
