The transcript limit of the YouTube extension
In shortThe YouTube Transcript extension gives 100 transcripts a month per browser; the counter resets at the start of the calendar month. There is also a limit of 10 videos an hour from one IP address. Failed transcripts are not counted.
What is counted
Each new video is one transcript. A video that SozAI has already transcribed opens without being counted and without a limit check. If a transcription fails, the unit is returned. The remaining count is shown at the top of the extension window, for example "95/100 free".
If the monthly limit is used up
The window shows "You've used all 100 free transcripts this month". The counter resets at the start of next month. Meanwhile you can transcribe your own recordings in the app — it has a separate minutes balance (about minutes).
If it mentions the hour or "this network"
No more than 10 videos an hour from one IP address, so in an office or a shared network everyone shares the limit. No more than five new browsers per address are accepted in a day. Wait an hour, or until tomorrow.
