How to delete a recording permanently
In shortOpen the recording, tap ⋯ → Delete recording and confirm. The recording, its notes, cards and translations are deleted for good, and the minutes spent on transcription are not returned.
How to delete a recording
iPhone and iPad
- Open a recording and tap ⋯ at the top of the screen.
- Choose Delete recording and confirm in the "Delete this recording?" window.
- Several recordings at once: in Library press and hold a recording, select the others and tap Delete.
Android
- Open a recording and tap ⋯ at the top of the screen.
- Choose Delete recording and confirm in the "Delete this recording?" window.
- Several recordings at once: in Library press and hold a recording, select the others and tap Delete.
Web
- Open a recording, click ••• at the top right and choose Delete recording….
- Confirm with Delete in the “Delete this recording on all devices?” window.
- Several recordings at once: in All recordings tick them and click Delete… in the bar that appears. The Del key does the same.
What happens to the data
Deletion applies on all your devices and cannot be undone. Together with the recording, its text, notes, flashcards, quizzes and translations are deleted, and the uploaded file is removed from our server.
What deletion does not do
The copy that a third-party transcription service received stays with it for its own period — see the privacy policy. You cannot delete only the audio and keep the text by hand. To remove everything, delete the account.
