Do you know the first time you recorded "Wrecking Ball" that it was going to be a huge hit? I brought it around to a bunch of different producers in LA, and all of them were like, slept on it. Everybody was like, no, we don't need it, we don't need it. And then I brought it to Dr. Luke, and he heard it and took it and got it. And I, but I, I had shopped that around to multiple people, and they were like, no, we don't need this. They didn't want to produce it. They didn't care about it. They just thought it was another, another ballad. Isn't that something? And so some people just have that ear, and it's that thing of if what's meant to be is what meant to be. And then I, I just knew because that's what I was living at that time. That's what I was going through. I was going through that, uh, big breakup, and everyone knew about it. And you know what? I didn't hold anything back. I went and the first time I performed the song live, I bawled and cried, and my mascara was running all down my face. So this was about, when you sang it, you were thinking about Liam and you were thinking about... Yeah, I was thinking just about, I think that was the first time maybe I'd ever really... Felt hard. I mean, I've gone through little breakups in your life, but that was a really big, that was my only relationship. That's really the only relationship I've been in that's real, you know, and so that just, I felt that way. When you sing that song now, will you go back to that place? I do. But when I made the video, I had already kind of like band-aid my heart all up, and I felt okay. I pictured I had a dog with the animals. You're an animal lover. Yeah, I love animals. So I pictured my dog the whole time. So as emotional as it seems, I was really thinking about my Yorkie that had passed away. I wasn't really thinking about my boyfriend at all.
