Camera comparison of Oppo Find X10 Pro Max, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and Vivo X500 Pro Max across video, stills, low light, zoom and selfies.
Key Takeaways
- The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max leads in ultra-wide field of view, selfies, and natural skin tones.
- The Vivo X500 Pro Max performs best in low-light zoom detail and lens flare control thanks to Zeiss coating.
- The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has the narrowest ultra-wide and the most aggressive skin whitening and flare issues.
What the video covers
- Compares front-facing video at 4K 60 with electronic stabilization, noting Oppo's stability and audio handling in wind.
- Ultra-wide comparison: Oppo offers the widest field of view (13mm equivalent), Vivo 15mm, Xiaomi 17mm.
- Zoom tests at 10x show the Vivo with the most detail in the main zoom tests, though all three rely on the same zoom limitations.
- Stabilization comparison: one phone shakes noticeably while the Oppo and Vivo look steadier in live preview and walking tests.
- 8K video supported on all three main cameras, with stabilization less effective than in 4K due to reduced cropping.
- Lens flare: the Vivo with its Zeiss T* coating handles flare best; the Xiaomi shows the most flare.
- Low-light video shows noise and grain, with the Vivo color rendering appearing off in the dark-blue sign test.
- Selfies: the Oppo wins on field of view, dynamic range and sky capture in both portrait and normal modes.
- Skin tones: the Xiaomi and Vivo whitened or smoothed skin despite beautification being off; the Oppo looked more natural.
- Low-light stills: the Oppo and Xiaomi show blotchiness in skies, the Vivo shows better detail and warmer, truer colors at zoom.

Welcome back to another camera comparison, and it is part two with the Pro Max phones. So I've got now the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max. This is the global version, then the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, and the Vivo X500 Pro Max, which is in the previous video.

previous video. And here we're looking at the front facing camera. So 4K 60 at the moment using electronic image stabilization. I'm swapping over the audio sources and at the time of this video all three of them are on their

And here we're looking at the front-facing camera. So 4K 60 at the moment, using electronic image stabilization. I'm swapping over the audio sources, and at the time of this video, all three of them are on their latest firmware, of course. I always update them before doing this test.
Speaker A
Not at 4K 60. I hope not and not at daytime either. Over to the rear cameras now and these are the ultra wide cameras. You can see straight away there is a huge difference in the field of view. Just how wide those ultra wides
Speaker A
So stability out of all three here does look good, and we shouldn't see any dropped frames at all, not at 4K 60. I hope not, and not at daytime either.
Speaker A
trade-off. And then with the Vivo it is 15 mm. Now I do prefer to see at least 13. So Oppo's done a very good job and as you can see it fits so much more in the shot. Now as I walk along here
Speaker A
Over to the rear cameras now, and these are the ultra-wide cameras. You can see straight away there is a huge difference in the field of view, just how wide those ultra-wides are. So the Oppo is the largest, the best in terms of field of view. We have a 13 mm focal length equivalent. The Xiaomi is the worst at 17, because of the rear camera. They had to make that trade-off. And then with the Vivo, it is 15 mm.
Speaker A
cameras one times. So here when I zoom in now this is with the Vivo 10 times looking at that super yacht and a bit of the castle. And we'll go to 10 times with the Xiaomi.
Speaker A
Now, I do prefer to see at least 13, so Oppo's done a very good job, and as you can see, it fits so much more in the shot. Now, as I walk along here with electronic image stabilization, I'm looking at the Castle of Denia. There is a bit of a breeze, so we are likely to hear some wind noise, but that's a good test of the audio: which one handles it the best.
Speaker A
And which one's the steadiest here? I can see one of the phones is definitely shaking around a lot and at least with the live preview, one looks very, very steady.
Speaker A
So there, now with the main cameras at 1x. Here, when I zoom in, this is with the Vivo at 10x, looking at that super yacht and a bit of the castle. And we'll go to 10x with the Xiaomi. There we go, that is now 10. And let's do 10x with the Oppo. So this is now 10x zoom. A little tricky for me to get this, so that's finally 10. Little fiddly.
Speaker A
However, the same issue, you can't swap. You can't go from one to the other. So, that's the iron tower there at the top.
Speaker A
And which one's the steadiest here? I can see one of the phones is definitely shaking around a lot, and at least with the live preview, one looks very, very steady.
Speaker A
Beautiful coastline, very rugged and rough. And stabilization doesn't look to be as good as what we get with 4K.
Speaker A
All right, and 8K video, because all three of these phones do support 8K, at least with the main cameras. Now, I know with the Oppo you can shoot 8K with all three of the 200-megapixel sensors. However, the same issue: you can't swap. You can't go from one to the other.
Speaker A
And just a very quick pan around and then we'll get onto that low-light footage.
Speaker A
So, that's the iron tower there at the top. I'm right at the end of the coast here in Dénia. This is called Las Marinas. Beautiful coastline, very rugged and rough. And stabilization doesn't look to be as good as what we get with 4K, probably to do with the fact that it just doesn't crop in as much with the electronic image stabilization.
Speaker A
getting any of those crazy reflections. Okay, I can see a little bit here. Handle very well with the Oppo. Uh the Xiaomi seems quite bad, but the best definitely what I can see as I move back and forth
Speaker A
And just a very quick pan around, and then we'll get onto that low-light footage.
Speaker A
And it looks like it is off with the Vivo. The color's not quite how it should be.
Speaker A
This is 4K 60, and I want to look at the lens flare, which we know is an issue with, well, pretty much all phones. The Vivo, however, does have that Zeiss T* coating, which normally helps out quite a bit, and I wanted to see if I'm getting any of those crazy reflections. Okay, I can see a little bit here. Handles very well with the Oppo. The Xiaomi seems quite bad, but the best, definitely, from what I can see as I move back and forth, is, yeah, the Vivo with that Zeiss coating certainly is helping.
Speaker A
And certainly looking quite a bit more shaky than the daytime footage. Now, the street lights here and the lights around this hotel should be of a quite a warm white. So, almost an orangey yellowy look to them.
Speaker A
Now, that sign where it does say La Posada del Mar, that is supposed to be in quite a dark blue, and it looks like it is off with the Vivo. The color's not quite how it should be.
Speaker A
They don't look amazing, quite grainy, quite a bit of noise is present here with the front-facing cameras. In low light, I'm stepping further away from that street light now, and you can see quite a bit more grain.
Speaker A
And a bit of a walk ahead to test that stability, just in the port area right here. And certainly looking quite a bit more shaky than the daytime footage.
Speaker A
And again, the Vivo with the lens flare, very good here. So, moving over to stills now, first up is the portrait selfies, and straight away, I like the field of view of the Oppo. The skin tones look pretty good in
Speaker A
Now, the street lights here and the lights around this hotel should be quite a warm white, so almost an orangey-yellowy look to them. And just quickly, too, let's look at the front-facing cameras. I am under a street light, so that is certainly helping out. They don't look amazing, quite grainy, quite a bit of noise is present here with the front-facing cameras. In low light, I'm stepping further away from that street light now, and you can see quite a bit more grain.
Speaker A
actually more correct. And we do get the sky captured better with the Oppo with this particular shot. So, I think selfies, both portrait and normal ones, Oppo wins.
Speaker A
And what about lens flare? It seems it's the worst on the Xiaomi, second the Oppo, or maybe the Oppo's the worst. And again, the Vivo with the lens flare is very good here.
Speaker A
Xiaomi whitens up the skin tones a lot. Yes, it is the Chinese version, and the Vivo whitens skin tones a little even though a beautifying is off there is some skin smoothing happening on both the Xiaomi and the Vivo. So here skin
Speaker A
So, moving over to stills now. First up is the portrait selfies, and straight away, I like the field of view of the Oppo. The skin tones look pretty good in the stitching, and the dynamic range there is a little bit better than the other two phones. Then the normal selfie mode, again, skin tones, yes, I look a little bit red. I've been running around, I was in the sun, so that's actually more correct. And we do get the sky captured better with the Oppo in this particular shot. So, I think for selfies, both portrait and normal ones, the Oppo wins.
Speaker A
worst over saturated even though this is in the standard color mode trying to have more natural colors and the Zeiss preset and Zeiss natural for the Vivo still a lot of clipping going on with those different shades of red.
Speaker A
Rear portraits are handled very differently between all three of them. I do prefer the Oppo again. It's a more natural-looking skin tone, and you see this when I go from the main camera now over to the optical zoom cameras. The Xiaomi whitens up the skin tones a lot. Yes, it is the Chinese version. And the Vivo whitens skin tones a little, even though beautifying is off, and there is some skin smoothing happening on both the Xiaomi and the Vivo. So here, for skin tones, the Oppo gets the win.
Speaker A
correct and you can see more different shades of red. All three of them are excellent very good. All three of them would and do beat an iPhone 18 Pro for example.
Speaker A
So this is a difficult shot, a bright red hibiscus flower. Now, I'm looking at the clipping, and you can see all the different shades of red are captured the best with the Oppo. The Xiaomi is the worst, over-saturated, even though this is in the standard color mode, trying to have more natural colors. And with the Zeiss preset and Zeiss natural for the Vivo, there's still a lot of clipping going on with those different shades of red.
Speaker A
saturated. I find the Vivo is marginally over saturated and the best with the color tones is here the Oppo.
Speaker A
And that's even more obvious with the macro mode now. So, super macro modes on all three of them. I like the Vivo there. There's a lot of detail there, a little bit of over-sharpening. The Oppo, again, is getting all the shades of red more correct, and you can see more different shades of red. All three of them are excellent, very good. All three of them would, and do, beat an iPhone 18 Pro, for example.
Speaker A
the Xiaomi and the Xiaomi colors here they are in fact a little bit more true to life than what I really saw. Second with the colors would be the Oppo and the Vivo it's not bad it's a little bit
Speaker A
This shot, looking at the bright flowers, you can see that it is the Xiaomi that's a little bit too bright. So the exposure could actually be tweaked down a little bit, but again, it's all default settings to make things fair here. Slightly over-saturated. I find the Vivo is marginally over-saturated, and the best with the color tones here is the Oppo.
Speaker A
And the trend continues with the colors with the main camera now that the Xiaomi was the most true to life as I did see it. The Vivo is brightened up slightly, but the Oppo, the dynamic range here capturing all the different shades of
Speaker A
Ultra-wide cameras: as I pointed out with video, and we saw that it is the Oppo that has the best field of view, so it fits the most in the shot. It's the widest out of these three. The worst is the Xiaomi, and the Xiaomi colors here are in fact a little bit more true to life than what I really saw. Second with the colors would be the Oppo, and the Vivo. It's not bad, it's a little bit brighter than what the scene really was. It's captured well, but I prefer here, I would say, the colors of the Xiaomi, and then the overall wideness of the shot, the field of view from the Oppo. Those two kind of draw.
Speaker A
Optical zoom cameras now at their native optical zoom level, and they're very, very similar here. I think the colors, again, the Xiaomi slightly more true to life.
Speaker A
And the trend continues with the colors with the main camera now. The Xiaomi was the most true to life as I did see it. The Vivo is brightened up slightly, but the Oppo, the dynamic range here capturing all the different shades of those clouds, the cloud formation there, is in fact the best out of all three here. So, the Oppo gets the win.
Speaker A
Otherwise, all three of them do look excellent with the main cameras. With our main cameras still, and very, very similar all three of them, you start to have to nitpick. Now, there are more details, better dynamic range with
Speaker A
Optical zoom cameras now, at their native optical zoom level, and they're very, very similar here. I think the colors, again, the Xiaomi is slightly more true to life. However, with this shot here, looking at the sky, it is more correct with the Oppo. The rust color is slightly better.
Speaker A
It's a little bit off with the Vivo, but again, like all three of these are excellent, and it's really what you do prefer. The details, the dynamic range, then I would go towards the Oppo with this particular shot.
Speaker A
Otherwise, all three of them do look excellent with the main cameras. With our main cameras still, and very, very similar, all three of them, you start to have to nitpick. Now, there are more details, better dynamic range with the clouds, the cloud formation with the Oppo here, and the colors between the Xiaomi and the Oppo were more correct. It's a little bit off with the Vivo, but again, all three of these are excellent, and it's really what you do
Speaker A
Xiaomi colors are good, but it's just not that wide. It's almost the same as the main camera, and I like the Vivo.
Speaker A
The Vivo sky has a bit more mood and feel to it. It is a very good shot. So, we've got the colors I feel better here with the Vivo, but the wideness of the Oppo certainly does help.
Speaker A
Switching back to a very difficult shot, which is the main cameras indirect sunlight with these bright flowers. This is where phones normally really struggle. So, the Xiaomi, again, just slightly overexposed, too bright, too saturated.
Speaker A
Uh the Oppo is good, but it doesn't capture the colors as well and the contrast as good as what we had with the Vivo. The Vivo, the shot did pull ahead and the colors with the Zeiss preset here more true to life.
Speaker A
So, here let's apply a little bit of the zoom. So, these are the main cameras here and you could see the colors just looking at the sky blowing out with the Vivo a little bit too light cool white
Speaker A
with the Xiaomi. Oppo's got it here. Now, these are the optical native optical zoom at the moment. All of them are very close. I think the Vivo looks the most detailed here, but it also is the most sharpened.
Speaker A
And here's an example where the Xiaomi pulled ahead with the colors. The sky wasn't as blue as the Oppo and the Vivo presented here. This is where that more natural preset of the Xiaomi did work out really well because it
Speaker A
looks like that. So, this is well done on Xiaomi's behalf. However, again, I criticize here the ultra-wide just not being wide enough at 17 mm is only.
Speaker A
Another zoom test. So, native optical zoom with all three of them here. You can see again the color difference. More saturated with the Oppo with the Vivo.
Speaker A
The Xiaomi's a little bit maybe warmer than what the shot really is, but it is the closest to true to life here. But, when we start to zoom into now 10 times In fact, this is 30 times zoom. Before
Speaker A
was 10. You see the differences between them. It really looks like to me that the Vivo is pulling ahead, but I don't like the fact that they have over sharpened the shot slightly, but I think it has the best amount of details across
Speaker A
all three and I think most will agree with me. This 10 times shot of the iron tower, the Xiaomi looks a bit washed out.
Speaker A
Something's going on and maybe a little bit of blur with the Oppo. Doesn't look great and it is the Vivo that's the best.
Speaker A
Now, things get really difficult. Low light. Look at the skies. A a of blotchiness with the Oppo and the Xiaomi. The Vivo also has some grain there, some noise, but a blotchiness.
Speaker A
The red sign of the hotel isn't handled by all three of them well. It's in fact poorly done.
Speaker A
With the one time shot, we're still seeing a lot of noise present in the sky, especially with the Oppo. All three of them have that noise, but looking at the sign again of the hotel, the La Posada del Mar,
Speaker A
it is bleeding out on most of them, but the Xiaomi got the color more correct.
Speaker A
It should be a deeper blue. Now, zooming into the hotel name there, it's captured the best on the Oppo. It's bleeding out even more with the Xiaomi, but that blue is a little more correct.
Speaker A
Details inside seem to look the best on the Xiaomi or the Vivo. And then at 10 times, the Oppo has, well, the top part of the window sharp, but the bottom looks a bit blurred.
Speaker A
The Vivo's got a lot of detail. It's now more warmer the shot and looks more true to life the colors. So, for this zoom shot, the Vivo here is winning. Second place, the Xiaomi. Third, the Oppo.
Speaker A
With this low light shot, this is 10 times zoom again. We are seeing the more correct colors with the Vivo with the night shots. Details, I think, pulling through a lot more with the Vivo. Some more highlights and you can see more
Speaker A
areas where the shadows are, too, with the Vivo. Main camera low light shot, you can see there is some flare visible in the sky with the Oppo. Now, the Vivo has a bit of a glow to the sky to as well and
Speaker A
around that sign. What looks more natural and the best to me, at least, as all subjective, of course, is the Xiaomi in the middle with this main camera low light shot.
Speaker A
With this particular scene here, it's the main cameras and just looking at the shot in general, how everything is captured, including the little kiosk there and all the products inside, the Vivo pulls ahead. Sky's captured slightly better than the other two. When
Speaker A
you look at all the trinkets there, they have a bit more detail to them and they're not overexposed slightly like the other two. So, here the Vivo gets the win for the low light.
Speaker A
Low light optical zoom maximum here. So, I haven't used any digital zoom and you can see that they all look very very similar here. I think the Oppo's got the best amount of details there that it has captured. The Vivo second and the Xiaomi
Speaker A
in the middle somewhere. Now, here we can see this is what I was talking about in the other scene is that some of the the trinkets inside this kiosk a little bit overexposed with some of the phones.
Speaker A
The Oppo and the Vivo did handle this the best. The Xiaomi is where it has overexposed what is inside the store there a little.
Speaker A
This ultra-wide low light, they all look again similar, but the field of view for the Oppo definitely gives it a point there. It's got a lot of details captured and in general just looking at the scene, I like the way the night sky
Speaker A
is handled and the light it looks like to me at least the Oppo is the best for the ultra-wide low light. Now, this photo here of snow up on a a fence post he has not been captured that well with
Speaker A
the Xiaomi and nor the Oppo and there's a lot of background noise. Now, that's a tree behind there, but I think here the Vivo is the best. I'm sure a lot of will agree with me too as well because the
Speaker A
background it's not all a patchy blurry muddy mess and he's come out the sharpest and the most detailed here with the Vivo.
Speaker A
Here are my findings. Remember this is subjective. You don't have to agree with me, but I think vlog footage was the best with the Oppo. Wider field of view, the footage was quite steady and just the fact you got more in the shot
Speaker A
certainly helps out. That's kind of what you want with the front-facing camera to not be too close and the audio, well, the Xiaomi suffered from when there was a bit of wind, the wind noise was the worst. However, when it wasn't windy,
Speaker A
the Xiaomi sounded very good. I think the best kind of middle ground was the Oppo for the audio. And rear video, this was difficult. One area it wasn't was 8K. Certainly, the Vivo dominated with the stability with the 8K video.
Speaker A
However, I think with the rear cameras, probably went down to the stability being a little bit better with the with the Vivo again here, but only just.
Speaker A
However, the Oppo's zoom camera had the best stability during the day without a doubt.
Speaker A
As for stills, I think it went down like this. For selfies, portrait mode, and just normal selfie photos, the Oppo for the skin tones, stitching was also very good. For rear portraits, I'd have to say again that was the Oppo. The skin
Speaker A
tones were the best. And the main camera, when it came to bright scenes, bright flowers, the least amount of color clipping was the Oppo, and it just captured the different shades of the red, especially with that red hibiscus
Speaker A
flower. Super macro mode, down to personal preference, they were all very good, but least saturated and more true-to-life colors was the Oppo. For night stills, Vivo. Vivo for the main camera and for the zoom camera for the night stills.
Speaker A
However, the ultra-wide with the Oppo was the best in low light and in general daylight too.
Speaker A
So, do you agree with my findings? Let me know in the comments. Thank you so much for watching.
