Speaker A
Hi, my journaling friends. Welcome back. So, this video is going to be a little cozy week in my life where I am going to incorporate little bits and pieces of fall as we change into autumn. My name is Sarah, if you're new here, and I love
Speaker A
stationery. So much that I made a small business selling my designs and notebooks and all kinds of things over at my shop. And I also like to document and romanticize my life through cozy vlogs like this one.
Speaker A
So, if you like any of that, definitely stick around, subscribe. For these kinds of videos, I like to do a little desk diaries where I show you my stationery.
Speaker A
And I think for this one, I'm going to do like a how I set up my planner for the upcoming week. But throughout the video and the vlog portion, I'd like to just pepper in some little small ways that I like to
Speaker A
celebrate fall. I don't do anything too extravagant, like I don't go out and buy a whole bunch of stuff, but I have a couple of things that I like to do. It's very simple, very casual. So, grab a cozy drink. I've got three right
Speaker A
there. Got coffee, tea, and hot water. And let's get into it. Real quick, I just wanted to shout out YouTube for sending me this really cozy sweater. I got it in the middle of July and it was very hot then, but now that it's nice
Speaker A
and cool in the morning, I'm so excited to wear it. Just wearing this sweater makes me more motivated to turn on my camera and film and make more videos for you guys. So, I'm really excited. My sister calls this one of my Gilmore
Speaker A
Girls skirts. So definitely feeling autumnal. So I have had this idea for a vinyl sticker bouncing around in my head for so long and I finally made it happen. These are my tell it to your journal vinyl stickers and I am so proud
Speaker A
of these. So, I was talking to Sam one day and I was just saying how like sometimes when people are telling me about their problems, I kind of will listen, but sometimes I just want to be like, "Hey, have you tried
Speaker A
journaling about it instead of telling me because sometimes I just like don't have the capacity. I've got my own stuff going on, but I don't know how to stop the flow of problem telling. I don't know. But I just was
Speaker A
trying to channel that energy into a design and this is what came out of it.
Speaker A
It's my little way of just suggesting, hey, journaling might help you because I don't have it in me right now. So, I am I am rather a nice person. I will listen to what people have to say, but
Speaker A
sometimes I just can't. So, this is the vinyl sticker design that I've really wanted to create because I thought other people might relate to that. So, I personally am going to be sticking this on my journal. I might stick one on my
Speaker A
water bottle. These will last a pretty long time because they have this protective coating on them that'll make them last. So, yay for vinyl stickers. I am going to be listing these on the shop as well very, very soon. So,
Speaker A
keep an eye out for that if they're not there already after this video goes up. So, yay.
Speaker A
I am so proud of these. I just stuck it to my own journal and I love it. It looks so good on this toasted almond cover and it's just so pretty. I love how it feels.
Speaker A
Yay. Tell it to your journal. Hey, hey hey.
Speaker A
All right, so that upper body day is done. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Very proud of myself for getting into the gym. I have been
Speaker A
working on my pull-ups for a very, very long time. I started with the assisted pull-up machine and then banded pull-ups, and now I can do three pull-ups, but I've been stuck at three pull-ups for probably a month now, and I
Speaker A
really want to do eight pull-ups for some reason. That just seems like such a cool number to me. Eight reps of anything challenging is so awesome. So, I am really working on it. I have to do more exercises that kind of strengthen
Speaker A
the muscles needed for pull-ups. So, I'm working on a lot of back muscles. I guess core strength. I don't know. So, they're my favorite exercise right now, but I feel like I've stagnated on them for a little bit. There's a lull, but we
Speaker A
just keep on keeping on. And it's slow progress. It literally has taken me almost a year to get to this point, and I'm not going to give up just because I'm stuck at three pull-ups, you know?
Speaker A
I'm going to keep doing them, but I really hope I get more. You know, the sun is kind of going behind clouds in and out and it's so nice. Earlier when I was driving in, there was a full moon
Speaker A
and now the sun is out and it's so beautiful. I'm so excited for fall. I don't want to be caught unawares and unprepared. So, I am going to be getting into fall mode and that is what this video is all about. I know that I am
Speaker A
wearing a tank top and it's very sweaty. We're going to do all the cozy things, okay? Even if it's like 90° out, we're still going to go on a hay ride.
Speaker A
And I want to bring you along with me on all of those cool things. Where we live now is so country and there's lots of farmland and really quintessential fall activities to do. I am so so excited.
Speaker A
Look at these dinners. Oh wow, how pretty. I love these holly hawks. But the zinnias are just stunning.
Speaker A
Wow. There's even some squash. I've never even Oh, look at the sunflower over there.
Speaker A
Oh, baby. The strawberries are doing really good, too. Can I look at the strawberries?
Speaker A
Yeah. Do you want to pick some? Look. Look, Mommy. This one's red. Oh, yeah. Look, these ones are red too.
Speaker A
I'm going to put some in my basket. Put some in your basket. Or you can just eat them right now.
Speaker A
I want to try one, too. Oh my goodness. Look, they look perfectly ready to eat.
Speaker A
They're so tiny. Mhm. Want to try one? Got to check for bugs. M. Wow, those are so sweet.
Speaker A
They taste like extra extra sweet from our garden, don't they? Here. This one's pretty good. Can you try it?
Speaker A
This one's good. It's pretty good. Yeah. You don't want that one here. I can eat this one, too.
Speaker A
What do you think? Good. Can you find any more? I'm going to save some for later.
Speaker A
Okay. I'm going to go look for some tomatoes. All righty. Can we pick those?
Speaker A
These dill seeds are going to come in so handy next year. I love to harvest the seeds in my garden. Kiki, look. I found all these dill seeds.
Speaker A
Oh, these are going to be really good for next year. We should definitely save them. Dill is so important in our garden because all of these swallowtail butterflies absolutely love dill. So, we need to have an excessive amount of
Speaker A
dill. Also, your father loves them. So, we need to save all these seeds. And I also bought seeds as well, just in case.
Speaker A
But look at this. This is definitely going to grow. Okay, so these are all of the dill seeds that I got. I'm going to put them into a little envelope here. I'm going to use an empty seed
Speaker A
packet that I have. These are the zinnia seeds that we grew and they turned out really beautiful. So, it's empty. I planted these in early spring.
Speaker A
I just scattered them in the ground. I'm just going to put them in here right now.
Speaker A
A strawberry. Oh, no. A strawberry. I just want to get them before the bunnies eat them all. You want this one?
Speaker A
Yeah, it's pretty good. Hey, let's go check over there. Maybe there's some green beans on the vines up there.
Speaker A
Look at the green beans, huh? Mama, I never had green beans, but I don't like the green beans at my school, but I might like them here.
Speaker A
I think because at school the green beans probably come from a big can, but these ones are fresh. You want to put them in your basket?
Speaker A
Put some in my basket. Put them in your basket. I love those squash. Yeah, I know. They're so nice. They're almost as big as your face.
Speaker A
Oh my. All right, let's meander over here. I found some hidden tomatoes over here.
Speaker A
Oh my. Better get in there. I see some red ones. Yeah, you can put them in your basket.
Speaker A
There you go. Make sure they're perfectly red. And leave the ones that are a little bit orangey greeny on the vine.
Speaker A
I love these red potatoes. I'm just going to remove some.
Speaker A
Let me see your basket, though. What kind of We have our basket of full of vegetables.
Speaker A
Yummy. What kind of vegetables do you have? We have tomatoes and green beans. If I put that in there, I don't think both of them would fit, but we did get a squash right?
Speaker A
I don't think I need to put it in. Okay. You don't have to put it in your basket.
Speaker A
I want to show everybody my flower. Okay. Good. Wow. Look at that. What kind of flower is it? Do you remember?
Speaker A
Zenia. Oh, yes. A zenia. I like the color. Mhm. Can I show daddy all these zenas?
Speaker A
Of course. [music] I think he would love to see them. He loves zenyas. He sure does.
Speaker A
That's one of his favorite flowers. Right. All right. I think we're headed inside. All right, guys. So, I'm going to try to decorate my space a [music] little bit with these real pumpkins that we harvested from the garden recently.
Speaker A
These are the Jack Bee little ones. And I have a couple of those. I've never had much luck growing a lot of these white pumpkins. They're a little bit more rare. And I didn't even start any of these. These are all from last year's
Speaker A
seeds that kind of just sprouted up randomly. We had a lot of volunteer plants this year. Since they're real, you have to check them periodically.
Speaker A
I feel like this shelf here is very spring spring-l like. I also don't like when things not an odd number.
Speaker A
I don't know. I really like white pumpkins. I wish I had more white pumpkins.
Speaker A
I kind of like that. [music] Okay. Okay. That's kind of nice. This is what I mean when I'm decorating my space in very subtle ways. Another small way that I like to celebrate is these wallpapers. I like to switch them
Speaker A
out. I get them at Good Monday's Paper, which always provides really amazing monthly wallpapers. If you guys didn't know, now you know.
Speaker A
Let's see here. Feel like I have a lot of room here for stuff. It's pretty good, I guess. But then it covers up these pen holders, which I do use sometimes. So, like is that like I like to use these little slots
Speaker A
for pens sometimes and that's pretty those two pens are pretty autuminal. I've been using this one and this combo for this week in my journals. So, that'll be nice to have there.
Speaker A
I don't even know. I don't know. I feel like I put stuff there sometimes. I want I like to decorate my space, but I also like it to be functional. So, I don't want the pumpkins to get in my way.
Speaker A
Let's see here. I might just have to utilize the shelf. I definitely feel like a pumpkin can go up at the top here just for funsies.
Speaker A
Like, that's good. A lot going on on that shelf. It's doing a lot. Hey, man. And there's not only the chance of like the pumpkins going bad, but there's sap sometimes. So, I did wash them off twice before I bought
Speaker A
them in. So, hopefully that works. But, yay, pumpkins. Pumpkins everywhere. Welcome to the desk diaries. This is my little writing desk. And in today's video, I'm going to show you how I set up my planner for the week ahead. I'm
Speaker A
going to use some fall inks. I need to decide which shade to use. And I'm also going to just like do some fall things like light this candle for the first time. This is a candle I've had for
Speaker A
about a year. I got it at IKEA last year and I've been hoarding it. If you also hoard your candles, let me know. It smells so good. It is pumpkin. First, I got to trim the wick quarter inch. So, that's good,
Speaker A
which is kind of cool. I also have a cozy drink. This is my red date tea. It's a Chinese herbal tea that is really good for when you're on your period. So now you know. These are some of the
Speaker A
pumpkins that we harvested from the garden. This is a Casperita one. Those are so rare. I want to grow more of the vines. And then the Jack be Littles.
Speaker A
These are a little bit easier to grow in my opinion or at least in my garden. So we are getting ready for fall. This is so exciting. So, this is the current week right now. And as you can see, I've
Speaker A
been filling it up throughout the week. And as we get to the end of the week, I like to just start filling in the week ahead sort of to save myself some time and just get ready, mentally prepare as
Speaker A
well. So, the very first thing that I can do is write down all of the things I need to track in this little weekly section here.
Speaker A
And I'll just go ahead and write down all of these words. This is my macros tracker. I have my chronometer app, but I like to write it on here. I wasn't doing it for several weeks this summer.
Speaker A
And even though I was still using the app, I feel like writing it down kind of gives myself a little report at the end of the day. So, I'm just going to keep doing that. It was very helpful.
Speaker A
All right. So, I got all of that written out. And then for next week, I am going to use a red color for the ink. I think this one is the Algangquin maple. I have that inked up in this pen. I like to
Speaker A
kind of match my fountain pens to the inks whenever I can. So, that one's really pretty. Here, I'll show you.
Speaker A
Just going to take the top one page. So, this one is the and both of these items are from Ferris Wheel Press.
Speaker A
I think this particular shade was from a series of six inks that they released in autumn one year and I just loved it so much. All of the shades are so pretty.
Speaker A
So, I've been really enjoying my autumn inks that I have in my pens. And this week I have been using the autumn and auburn shade which I have in my brass caveco.
Speaker A
Show you real quick. This is one of my favorite fountain pens. The patina on this is like very strong.
Speaker A
But I do like polishing it every now and then. Things that are brass patina very quickly for me. I think it's just something on my hands. It just makes it darken so much and all of my leather darkens and patas very quickly I think
Speaker A
because my hands are like very moisturized. So those are my some of my favorite fall stationary items and I've had them for a while now.
Speaker A
So that's pretty much how I set up for the week ahead in I had been doing like to-do lists in the top portion and I would write to do to-do but I decided not to make the headers ahead of time. I
Speaker A
decided I want to do things a little bit more free form on a day-to-day basis.
Speaker A
So, sometimes I'll put the workout in the very top of the page and then sometimes I'll do like a week ahead. So, this week I wrote some of the things I knew were supposed to happen or make special notes of things. So, I think I
Speaker A
will do the same thing for Monday. So, let me write down a little header.
Speaker A
I love putting one of these writing boards inside of the page so it doesn't press down onto the other pages underneath.
Speaker A
So, the week ahead, I think I'm just going to write this week. And then I make a little squiggle for fun.
Speaker A
And I don't know where my clear ruler is, so I'm just going to use this thing.
Speaker A
and make a little line for this week. I know a couple things are happening, so I know it's going to be picture day.
Speaker A
So, just off the top of my head, those are a couple things that are happening for the week. And I like to have that on the Monday.
Speaker A
I use my fountain pen to make some quick bullet points as well. So, that's pretty good.
Speaker A
And dry that off. [music] So after I do my little entry, I will go ahead and skip three lines down and then kind of pre-draw the lines so that the next time I pick up my journal, I can
Speaker A
just go ahead and write the date and my little topic and just start doing my entry whenever I want. So, that's kind of how I prepare my notebooks and set things up for myself so that I can just
Speaker A
go ahead and jump right into the next thing. Hope you enjoyed this segment of the desk diaries. It was a little bit more simple and more technical and functional, but yeah, that is what I have for this week. All right, my
Speaker A
journaling friends. So, that is all I have for today's video. Until the next one, [music] happy journaling. Take care of yourselves and I'll see you next time. Bye. Oh, and let me know in the comments how you are celebrating fall.
Speaker A
Okay.
