SHR, or Super Hair Removal, is a technique also known as gliding or in-motion. It involves scanning the IPL or laser head across a small area multiple times (7-10 passes) with low fluence and a high repetition rate to accumulate heat energy and kill hair follicles.
The stamping or static technique involves firing a single, high-energy shot at each individual area to generate sufficient temperatures to kill germ cells in one go. Unlike SHR, it's a slower process and requires pre-cooling of the area due to the higher energy per shot.
Cooling is crucial because these techniques apply more energy than needed to kill hair follicles, and most of the energy is absorbed in the dermis. Proper cooling with an ice pack before and after treatment helps to remove excess heat energy and prevent discomfort or potential damage.
