It is so important to have a growth mindset with AI right now.
00:05
Speaker A
And I'm going to tell you why, and it's going to be kind of an evil reason.
00:10
Speaker A
There are more and more releases coming out from AI labs that don't seem to be for the general public.
00:14
Speaker A
They're really deep coding tools, they're purpose-built science tools.
00:18
Speaker A
I mean, take Claude Code for example.
00:20
Speaker A
I mean, it's in a freaking terminal.
00:22
Speaker A
The average non-engineer looks at that and goes, that's not for me.
00:26
Speaker A
And runs in the complete opposite direction.
00:29
Speaker A
However, the people that looked at that terminal and said, I don't care, I'm going to do it too.
00:34
Speaker A
They gained an unfair advantage and really strong leverage.
00:38
Speaker A
We are going to see this more and more.
00:42
Speaker A
Where some of the most advanced features that come out from AI labs are not going to be mass marketed to every type of user.
00:48
Speaker A
So you have to decide now which group you are in.
00:51
Speaker A
You are either going to see that brand new release.
00:53
Speaker A
You're going to say, that's in an ugly format, that's not for me.
00:59
Speaker A
I don't want to touch it, I'm happy just Googling things.
01:02
Speaker A
And to that I say, I'm glad you have found your peace.
01:04
Speaker A
But if you are the type of person that is looking around, realizing that this moment is completely different from any other moment that we've seen in tech and business.
01:14
Speaker A
Then that point of view, that mindset, that is poisonous.
01:18
Speaker A
But the person who looks at the terminal and says, yeah, that's scary, but I'm going to do scary things.
01:23
Speaker A
They're going to gain that unfair advantage and they're probably going to be about six months ahead of their coworkers.
01:28
Speaker A
Now, I'm not saying the only reason to learn these tools is to be competitive and to get ahead of everyone else.
01:34
Speaker A
Right, having a growth mindset and learning these things also is just pretty thrilling.
01:38
Speaker A
And I'm getting hundreds of DMs and emails of people who are not engineers saying that learning Claude Code.
01:45
Speaker A
Figuring out the terminal has changed their life.
01:48
Speaker A
This is a long way of saying that we are going to see more and more very advanced features come out from AI.
01:54
Speaker A
And it's no longer going to be just creating a better meal plan or a better workout plan with AI.
02:00
Speaker A
We're past that point.
02:01
Speaker A
I just need you to hear this as a call to arms moment that you are going to feel left out of releases.
02:08
Speaker A
And that I am here to tell you, double down and lean in.
02:11
Speaker A
Even if it means you're not operating at PhD level, even if it means that you're still two months behind software engineers.
02:18
Speaker A
Because you are still doing the hard thing, you are still taking the challenge, you are still learning and growing.
02:25
Speaker A
And you are still outperforming people at your level in your industry.
02:28
Speaker A
Do not compare yourself to the AI PhD researchers posting on X.
02:33
Speaker A
Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, who you were a year ago and what people around you in your same position are doing.
02:39
Speaker A
Do the hard thing.
02:41
Speaker A
And when all else fails, ask AI for help.
02:43
Speaker A
I mean this, like Claude Code is teaching me how to use Claude Code all the time.
02:46
Speaker A
Like your attitude literally has to be, I'll just give it a try.
02:50
Speaker A
What's the worst that can happen?
02:52
Speaker A
I'm just going to try.
02:53
Speaker A
God forbid you say, it'll be fun to try.
02:56
Speaker A
This is basically turning into a self-help video, but you got to do the hard thing.
03:00
Speaker A
My name is Allie K. Miller, I'm the number one most followed voice in AI business.
03:03
Speaker A
And even though I've posted about AI for the last 10 years, some of the most inspiring books that I've read have been about habits and mindset.
