Dr. Gene Kim explains the roots of dispensationalism, emphasizing the perfection of every Bible word and the need to rightly divide scripture by time and people.

## Key Takeaways

- Every word of the Bible is perfect and must be taken seriously for correct doctrine and living.
- Dispensationalism is essential to properly apply scripture by distinguishing time periods and audiences.
- Ignoring dispensationalism leads to contradictions and confusion in Christian doctrine.
- Theological hermeneutics can introduce bias, whereas dispensationalism seeks objective, literal interpretation.
- Historical context and literal meaning are key to understanding scripture correctly.

## What the video covers

- Every word in the Bible is perfect and important for correct teaching and living, supported by Matthew 4 and 2 Timothy 3.
- Dispensationalism involves dividing scripture according to time periods and groups because not all verses apply to everyone.
- Applying every Bible verse to all people creates contradictions, which skeptics and atheists highlight.
- Theological hermeneutics often leads to biased interpretations, while dispensationalism seeks literal, historical understanding.
- Historical criticism examines the author's intent and historical context, aligning with dispensationalist methods to resolve contradictions.
- Early church used literal interpretation, which shifted to figurative under church fathers and the Catholic Church, especially Alexandria, Egypt.
- The Protestant Reformation restored literal interpretation but did not fully dismantle Catholic influences.
- Dispensationalism is an academic hermeneutic method taught in seminaries like Dallas Theological Seminary.
- Many churches, including some independent Baptist ones, fail to teach dispensationalism despite its importance in resolving doctrinal errors.
- The video critiques modern Bible versions and theological biases, advocating for a return to literal, dispensational interpretation.

Answers

## Questions about this video

What is the main reason dispensationalism divides scripture?

Dispensationalism divides scripture because not all Bible verses apply to every person or time period, preventing contradictions and ensuring correct doctrine.

Why do skeptics find contradictions in the Bible according to the video?

Skeptics find contradictions because they expect every verse to apply universally, but the Bible contains different doctrines for different groups and times, which dispensationalism clarifies.

How did the interpretation of the Bible change after the early church?

The early church used literal interpretation, but later church fathers and the Catholic Church introduced figurative and metaphorical interpretations, which the Protestant Reformation partially reversed.

If I put some words or the concept of the word is perfect, it makes a whole difference, correct? But if I say every word is perfect, y'all know what that means. It's just common sense. Hence, that is the reason why we have to understand why every word in the Bible is perfect because of the right teaching that it gives to us. The two verses again to prove it are Matthew 4 and 2 Timothy 3. Why are those two passages the proof text? Because Jesus himself, when he was going up against the devil, he argued that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God, and he always quoted the word of God to go up against the devil. That means he realized that in order to successfully go up against the devil, he had to live by every word. Every word had to be important to him. And second, Timothy chapter 3 shows that everything in our Bible, not some, it says all scripture is God-breathed. Why? So that a person can be thoroughly furnished unto all good works. A person can thoroughly live up to everything rightly for the Lord. So notice that this is our practical, right living, right doctrine, right living. Second Timothy 3 also said all scripture is profitable for doctrine. So in dispensationalism, remember what dispensationalism is? It means dividing verses to the right groups of people, to the right time periods. Why do we do it that way? Because not all verses in the Bible apply to you. And you'll notice in this chart how I'm trying to draw some things that there are distinctions, that not everything in the Bible applies to you. That is what dispensationalism teaches. And we want to understand its roots. People do not understand why you have to be dispensationalist. I don't understand why it's important to all you guys. Why can't you apply every verse in the Bible to you? The reason why is because one of the roots of dispensationalism is every word of God being perfect. And when you go by every word of God being perfect, you're going to discover that you're going to have to—it forces you to divide the verses to time periods and groups of people. It is impossible. It is impossible to apply every verse to you while believing every word in the Bible is perfect. That's the reason why atheists and liberal scholars find contradictions in the Bible. Because when they look at every word honestly, they all don't fit to the Christian. They're just very contradictory. They seem to teach different salvations. They seem to teach different doctrines. They're not all the same. Christians who are dishonest, they try to reinterpret the words in the Bible, and that doesn't convince the skeptics. They see that as theological bias. And remember, these are accurate terms. These are real terms. I'm not making those terms up. Those are real things that are going on with scholarship. When they look at the Bible, what they see, the skeptics see from the theologians is theological bias because their form of interpretation is called theological hermeneutics. Now, I'm not making that up. It means what it says. They interpret hermeneutics. They interpret the Bible to their own theology. That's why they accuse them of theological bias. Now, this is in the field of academia and scholarship. They say that they use these words and these terms. The theologians never told you Christians that. The theologians never told you Christians that because they want to keep deceiving you and be pretentious that, "Hey, we got the Bible covered. Our interpretation works, and we'll defend the word of God through our theological way of interpreting the verses." Well, that, in other words, is AKA bias. You wonder why people are becoming unbelievers after that. They're not going to believe you if you're dishonest. So when they interpret the verses however way they want to, and every word in the Bible they do not believe is perfect, they insert their own interpretation behind certain words, or they will have 400 plus different Bibles with different wordings. Then they can come up with their doctrine to defend against the atheist. But if we see every word in the Bible as perfect and look at it honestly, the atheists are right. There are contradictions. Not all those verses can apply to us because they're contradictory. There are different doctrines that contradict each other in the Bible. So that's why we rightly divide them. That's the simple solution. How come the theologians don't do that? They don't do it that way. The atheist form of interpretation, as I told you before, is historical criticism. What is that? Historical criticism is to look at the tones, the wording behind the author's writings, and they try to look at the author's intention as he's writing the verses. And then they'll apply the teaching of that author at his historical time period. And that's how they find contradictions in the Bible. But you'll notice that's what dispensationalism teaches. But we don't find contradictions. We find answers. Dispensationalists do go by the tone, the wordings of what the authors wrote, try to look into their timeline, and we discover that in different time periods and different groups of people, that's how that doctrine is taught. It's that simple. That's why the Christian doctrine is at a different time period from a Jewish doctrine. We have discovered the answer. But a lot of people don't tell you about dispensationalism. There are people who come to our church. They never heard of dispensationalism. The question is why not? Why aren't churches teaching that? You know what's a shame? What's a shame is even independent Baptist churches, who are KJV only as well, don't teach this. Shame on you, to be honest. Shame on you because this is an extremely important teaching that solves 99% of wrong doctrine out there. A lot of people don't know about it. So this is the answer. And by the way, in the theological realm, this is a form of hermeneutics, believe it or not. So it's not something we made up. Even in the realm of academia, they teach this dispensationalism. So Dallas Theological Seminary is a famous place. And what's so funny is that in that same place, they get Bible agnostics like Dan Wallace coming out who's not KJV only. And the irony of dispensationalists being more KJV only, ain't that funny? So, but that's a whole another story that I'll explain a little more in this teaching. So let me get back to where I left off over here with theological hermeneutics versus historical criticism. Those are the two streams. And remember, they're from the streams of what they're from the streams where we retrace back into our history. So here's that Bible timeline. But now let's go, uh, let's go by underneath here. So hopefully it'll catch that. Let's go a little bit by the timeline here of our church history after Jesus Christ died on the cross. In our church history, you might recall that the early Christian, the first centuries of the church, it was a literal historical approach. That's how they read the Bible. Every word, they intended it literally to mean as it says. Now, that's what we believe in dispensationalist. That's what it originally was. So then what happened? It was literal. Then it became figurative because of church fathers and the Catholic church. So they started to use metaphorical interpretation. That's where Alexandria, Egypt was also involved in that mess. Do you know where your modern Bible versions come from? Alexandria, Egypt as well. Always leave it to the scholars to mess it up, right? So it is Alexandria, Egypt combined with the church fathers, which morphed into the monstrous Catholic church. But remember, we got our literal objective interpretation back because of the Protestant Reformation. The Reformation was what brought it back. But like I told you before, even the Reformation itself was not enough because Martin Luther, John Calvin, who were reformers, they were thinking simply reforming the Catholic church, not breaking away from it, not dismantling it. And they were trained by Catholic scholars. So there was still that metaphorical, figurative interpretation or basically wrong doctrine that was still in their minds.

why we have to understand why every word in the Bible is perfect because of the right teaching that it gives to us the two verses again to prove it is Matthew 4 and 2 Timothy 3 why are those

00:34

two passages the proof text because Jesus himself when he was going up against the devil he argued that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God and he always quoted the word of God to go up against the

00:52

01:11

all scripture is God breathed why so that a per so that a person can be thoroughly furnished unto all good works a person can thoroughly live up to everything rightly for the Lord so notice that this is our practically

01:29

Speaker A

right living Liv right Doctrine right living second Timothy 3 also said all scripture is profitable for Doctrine so in dispensationalism remember what is dispensationalism it means dividing verses to the right groups of people to the right time periods why do we do it

02:01

Speaker A

that way because not all verses in the Bible apply to you and you'll notice in this chart how I'm trying to draw some things that there are distinctions that not everything in the Bible applies to you that is what dispensationalism

02:24

teaches and we want to understand its roots people do not understand why do you have to be dispensationalist I don't understand why it's important to all you guys why can't you apply every verse in the Bible to you to you the reason why

03:27

word honestly they all don't fit to the Christian they're just very contradictory they seem to teach different salvations they seem to teach different doctrines they're not all the same Christians who are dishonest they try to reinterpret the words in the Bible and that don't

03:50

Speaker A

convince the Skeptics they see that as theological bias and remember these are accurate terms these are real terms I'm not making those terms up those are real things that is going on with scholarship when they look at the

04:10

Speaker A

Bible what they see the Skeptics see from the theologians is theological bias because their form of interpretation is called theological hermeneutics now I'm not making that up it means what it it says they interpret hermeneutics they interpret the Bible to their own

04:38

Speaker A

theology that's why they accuse them of theological bias now this is in the field of Academia and scholarship they say that they use these words and these terms the theologians Never Told You Christians that the theologians Never Told You Christians that because they

04:57

Speaker A

want to keep deceiving you and be pretentious that hey we got the Bible covered our interpretation works and we'll defend the word of God through our theological way of interpreting the verses well that in other words AKA bias you wonder why

05:15

Speaker A

people are becoming unbelievers after that they're not going to believe you if you're dishonest so when they interpret uh the verses to however way they want to and every word in the Bible they do not believe is perfect they insert their own

05:35

Speaker A

interpretation behind certain words or they will have 400 plus different Bibles with different wordings then they can come up with their Doctrine to defend against the atheist but if we see every word in the Bible as perfect and look at

05:55

Speaker A

it honestly the atheists are right there are contradictions not all those verses can apply to us because they're contradictory there are different doctrines that contradict each other in the Bible so that's why we rightly divide them that's The Simple Solution how come

06:16

Speaker A

the theologians don't do that they don't do it that way the atheist form of interpretation as I told you before is historical criticism what is that historical criticism is to look at the tones the wording behind the author's writings and they

06:42

try to look at the author's intention as he's writing the verses and then they'll apply the teaching of that author at his historical time period and that's how they find contradictions in the Bible but you'll notice that's what dispensationalism

07:01

Speaker A

teaches but we don't find contradictions we find answers dispensationalists do go by the tone the wordings of what the authors wrote try to look into their timeline and we discover that in different time periods and different groups of people that's

07:23

Speaker A

how that Doctrine is taught it's that simple that's why the Christian doctrine is at a different time period from a Jewish Doctrine we have discovered the answer but a lot of people don't tell you about dispensationalism there are people who

07:49

come to our church they never heard of dispensationalism the question is why not why aren't churches teaching that you know what's a shame what's a shame is even independent B Baptist Churches who are KJV only as well don't teach

08:05

Speaker A

this shame on you to be honest shame on you because this is an extremely important teaching that uh solves 99% of wrong Doctrine out there a lot of people don't know about so this is the answer and by the

08:26

Speaker A

way in the theological realm this is a form of hermeneutics believe it or not so it's not something we made up even in the realm of Academia they teach this dispensationalism so Dallas Theological Seminary is a famous place and what's so

08:44

Speaker A

funny is that in that same place they get Bible agnostics like Dan Wallace coming out who's not KJV only and the irony of dispensationalist be being more KJV only ain't that funny so but that's a whole another story that I'll explain a little

09:03

Speaker A

more in this teaching so let me get back to where I left off over here with theological hermeneutics versus historical criticism those are the two streams and remember they're from the streams of what they're from the streams where we retrace back into our

09:23

Speaker A

history so here's that uh Bible timeline but now let's go uh uh let's go by underneath here so hopefully it'll catch that let's go a little bit by the timeline here of our church history after Jesus Christ died on the

09:46

Speaker A

cross in our church history you might recall that the early Christian the first centuries of the church it was a literal historical approach that's how they read the Bible every word they intended it literally to mean as it says now that's what we

10:07

Speaker A

believe in dispensationalist that's what it originally was so then what happened it was literal then it became figurative because of church fathers and the Catholic church so they started to use metaphorical interpretation that's where Alexandria Egypt was also involved in

10:36

Speaker A

that mess do you know where your modern Bible versions come from Alexandria Egypt as well always leave it to the scholars to mess it up right so it is Alexandria Egypt combined with the church fathers which morphed into the Monstrous

10:56

Speaker A

Catholic church but remember we got our literal objective interpretation back because of the Protestant Reformation the Reformation was what brought it back but like I told you before even the Reformation itself was not enough because Martin Luther John Calvin who

11:20

Speaker A

were reformers they were thinking simply reforming the Catholic church not breaking away from it not dismantling it and they were trained by Catholic Scholars so there was still that metaphorical figurative interpretation or basically wrong doctrine that was still in their minds that Catholic

11:41

Speaker A

influence still in their mind when they're interpreting the Bible so then when we look at our Baptist forefathers they have always went by literally believing every word the anabaptist for example did not get along with reformers they were an extreme form of the

12:00

Speaker A

Protestant Reformation where they believed every word of God to be perfect rewind back from anabaptist to vdis or waldenian they rivaled the alexandrian manuscripts because they had the old Latin manuscript where our KJV came from so notice that this

12:22

Speaker A

KJV coincides with believing every word literally to be perfect you notice that so this is unbreakable a KJV only mindset with the interpretation of every word being perfect which morphed into dispensationalism that's why these are all very intertwined that's why we

12:44

Speaker A

strongly argue for a King James only dispensationalist church not just a King James only church or a dispensational church so the reformers were able to get it back but then there's an extreme form which our Baptist Heritage came from

13:03

Speaker A

this is why we choose a Baptist denomination because out of all the Protestant reformers today in our churches Baptists are the ones who go by that the most but now Baptist has fallen into apostasy as well so that's why

13:20

Speaker A

we're Independent Baptist in other words we independently believe and think for ourselves God is our Authority we're not under under Authority from some kind of head organization every local church is independent which is what the intention of Martin Luther was is every man has

13:41

Speaker A

the freedom in their conscience that's what he argued significantly now this Reformation of independent thinking Freedom which is a baptistic distinction as well it started to morph into where country and people start to break off from a slave system

14:04

Speaker A

uh an elite system and they want to become more democratic and then when it got abused that's where you got the Liberals today that's where you get the reign of terror in the so-called French Enlightenment it wasn't Enlightenment it

14:19

Speaker A

was a reign of terror that was more accurate for the whole thing that's where uh you get the current left-wing party and you get a lot of liberalism Rising because everyone wants to independently think for themselves but our independent thinking is bound always

14:37

Speaker A

to the Bible you notice that Bible Bible every word being perfect not just independent Freedom okay so that's where that's why the historical criticism movement was born it was born from that liberalism starting to form and be birthed so then they start to reject the

14:58

Speaker A

word of God and they wanted to think for themselves with their education and find criticisms with the Bible and they went by a literal word approach because that was the heritage of Germany and America from the Great Awakening revivals from the KJV only use

15:20

Speaker A

at that time but then it birthed into where they want to find contradictions in the Bible so out of Germany out of America came the historical critic Scholars okay now we understand where we're at so historical critic Scholars

15:35

Speaker A

came out after that and then theologians came out after that Reviving The metaphorical interpretation of the Catholic church and church fathers and also going back to the Bibles of Alexandria so theological hermeneutics uh was birthed after that so that's

15:56

Speaker A

where we're at now that's where we're at now but we argue against these two systems with dispensationalism all right now let's look at a few verses in our Bible that show the importance of every word being perfect and how we have to

16:19

Speaker A

forcibly divide the doctrines into different groups of people in different time period people don't want to divide the doctrines they want to pretend like all doctrines are the same with everybody no matter what time period you're in but you're going to notice

16:35

Speaker A

that that's just La La Land that's not going to work so we're going to look at a few passages so the best example would be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ right our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we discovered a KJV only mindset not

16:51

Speaker A

because of being KJV but because of every word being perfect we saw that in Matthew 4 Jesus demonstrated that correct then we're now going to see his dispensational approach because of that KJV only mindset and when I say KJV only

17:11

Speaker A

mindset please don't s thank King James what I mean by that is every word being perfect Now understand and you all should know this by now but let me repeat again just in case people out there just don't get it or they just

17:25

Speaker A

keep criticizing me I can't believe the foolishness the incredible foolishness and sorry to say stupidity of people who watch me online and they were not paying attention to what I was saying them so when I say KJV only

17:42

Speaker A

mindset I'm not thinking because of KJV when I say that I'm saying every word is perfect why do we choose KJV like I said a billion times is because that is the best candidate when you look at manuscript evidence there is no doubt

17:58

Speaker A

about it the historical and manuscript evidence scream out KJV and even theologically speaking but this teaching is not KJV apologetics it's roots of dispensationalism so let me move on all right if you have a criticism go to my

18:15

Speaker A

playlist on defending the KJV it's that simple okay now where was I I mentioned the best example is Jesus Christ where we get this approach of every word being perfect and dividing the doctrines to different time periods and group of

18:37

Speaker A

people right so let's look at our best example Jesus Christ we've seen from that first verse man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God every word is perfect like I mentioned before okay and

18:51

Speaker A

that's where we left off now let's see how he divides it with that kind of mindset KJV only mindset every word being perfect Luke 4 Luke 4 Luke 4 now this is all in the same chapter this is all in the same chapter

19:12

Speaker A

notice how Jesus used his hermeneutics he didn't go by theological bias he didn't go by a bias form of interpretation similar to historical criticism that's bias too by the way he went by the approach of verse four Luke

19:30

Speaker A

4:4 and Jesus answered him saying it is written that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God right based on this form of interpretation let's see how he used it so look at what

19:45

Speaker A

he said in Luke 4 and verse 17 okay now in verse 17 and there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet isaas and when he had opened the book he found the place where it was written

20:01

Speaker A

okay he's going to read what was written in the Bible then Luke 4:4 Jesus answered it is written right you see that in Luke 4:4 what did he believe in his mind every word as it is written in

20:19

Speaker A

the scripture will be perfect or is perfect correct so in Luke 4:17 when he's reading Isaiah it it is accurate to say that was in his mind still right every word is perfect is that correct yes it is

20:37

Speaker A

written he's saying right in Luke 4:17 it is written so he's now going to read to you what is written in scripture with that mindset of every word being perfect okay how do we know this because I'm going to prove it to you it's not

20:53

Speaker A

just literally every word it's down to a punctuation mark believe it or not so let's read it the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor he has sent me to

21:07

Speaker A

heal the brokenhearted to preach Deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind to set at Liberty them that are bruised to preach the acceptable year of the Lord now notice and he closed the book so he

21:23

Speaker A

stopped at a passage in Isaiah where it says to preach the acceptable year of the Lord so he stopped right there why for a reason if you keep reading verse 20 and he gave it again to the minister

21:35

Speaker A

and sat down and the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fasten on him and he began to say unto them this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears okay what he read from that passage in

21:49

Speaker A

Isaiah he said this particular passage is fulfilled but you know what he did when you go to that passage he divided it go to Isaiah 61 Isaiah 61 so he divided it now remember in his mind while he was

22:12

Speaker A

quoting scripture and interpreting it he believed every word is perfect correct okay if it's accurate to say he had that in mind let's see if that's the case here all right that would make a lot of sense Isaiah 61

22:29

Speaker A

verse one this is what Jesus quote the spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me to preach Good Tidings unto the meek he has sent me to bind up the Brokenhearted to Proclaim Liberty to the captives and the

22:43

Speaker A

opening of the prison to them that are bound to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and then what you're going to find out is Luke 4 he stopped in the middle of verse two go back over there if you don't believe

23:02

Speaker A

me verse 19 Luke 4:19 and 20 you notice that he stopped in the middle of the verse okay if he had the mindset I believe every word is perfect there must be a reason then why he stopped in the

23:15

Speaker A

middle of the verse because look at the rest of the words in Isaiah 61 if you look at the remaining words that don't apply to Jesus at Luke 4 keep reading look at Luke CH uh Isaiah 612 Isaiah

23:34

Speaker A

61:2 and the day of Vengeance of our god it wasn't that time yet for Jesus the day of Vengeance was if you look at the chart sometime in the future after the tribulation after the Antichrist kingdom is set up and Jesus destroys it all in

23:51

Speaker A

Vengeance keep reading to comfort all that mourn to point unto them that mourn in Zion to give unto them Beauty for Ashes the oil of joy for mourning the Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness that they might be called Trees of

24:07

Speaker A

Righteousness the planning of the Lord that he might be glorified why that's a restoration of Israel the nation of Israel is not restored look at it right now you think it's in a beautiful land right now beautiful state it's fully restored no

24:22

Speaker A

it's in Conflict still war it's awful notice in verse four they rebuild the cities in Israel see that no more war god takes over that's not until the future so that's why Jesus said in Luke 4 this day is this scripture fulfilled

24:44

Speaker A

in your ears meaning only verse one and the middle of verse two because he believed every word is perfect he said hey the doctrine is this in my first coming to you in Luke 4 I am a suffering Messiah doing my

25:02

Speaker A

Ministry preaching and Healing The Sick and taking care of people uh freeing the captives but the next part of verse 2 and three in Isaiah 61 those words do not PL apply at this time period That's sometime in the

25:18

Speaker A

future now did that uh make sense to all of you y all understand so far that should be extremely clear and plain so notice what Jesus did with the passage in Isaiah 61 what he did was because with the

25:35

Speaker A

mindset of every word being perfect he put one at this time period and the other one at the time period right here this is from a concept of every word is perfect it is important to understand that a lot of people uh don't believe in

26:03

Speaker A

that let me show you another passage we will go to Romans chap 11 Romans chap 11 and I want to show you something very interesting when we go to Hebrews 11 Hebrews chap 11 now a lot of people will

26:35

Speaker A

argue that in the Old Testament you'll notice that salvation in the Old Testament they had Faith uh let me use a different color actually we'll use green so notice that in the Old Testament the Old Testament saints were saved by faith

27:06

Speaker A

but there's a lot of works that came out of that Faith so what the scholars will teach you now notice remember Scholars Theologian what they teach you what am I going back to theological hermeneutics right so whenever I refer to the

27:25

Speaker A

theologians the scholars know this the form of inter interation will be their biased interpretation that's what it is or what they like to academically and professionally call it theological hermeneutic so it sounds nice and you can't see what that translates to is

27:41

Speaker A

bias okay theological hermeneutics what they're going to tell you is that it is a faith that they're save by but if you genuinely have faith in you Works will come out of your life now to an honest person those two words

28:01

Speaker A

are contradictory remember that's from the very beginning of our history in the Protestant Reformation where Martin Luther saw that salvation cannot be by works but by faith alone that's why he argued Sola faith alone what does that mean

28:20

Speaker A

literally as it says alone all right not by works but leave it to theological hermeneutics and the calvinist who all praise Martin Luther Calvinists use theological word playay to say we do believe in faith alone and I mean faith alone it is really alone

28:44

Speaker A

not by works but if you have this faith it will produce Works see so that's not honest that's the that's theological fanciful word play that try to make it sound nice so you don't find the contradictions what did the Bible warn

29:03

Speaker A

smooth words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple so if you're going to get people to believe you not by honesty then how are you going to deceive people not by honesty smooth and fanciful word play okay fair speeches so

29:21

Speaker A

you don't want to do that right that's not our form of interpretation that's dishonest now if we look at Hebrews 11 notice right here the contradiction then the contradiction in Hebrews chap 11 uh notice in verse 7 verse Fe verse 7

29:42

Speaker A

by faith Noah being warned of God of things not as seen as yet moved with fear prepared an ark to the saving of his house by the which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by

29:56

Speaker A

faith notice right here that Noah was saved by faith but this Faith made him produce the work of building an ark now if I told you to go to a church building for your salvation you would accuse me

30:12

Speaker A

of works right but if I told you to build a church building for your salvation that's more than a work but if I told you to build a boat that's three times larger than a football field that's a whole bunch of works

30:29

Speaker A

now that's a whole lot of hard work that don't sound like faith alone the simple gift of God right the free gift of God that don't sound like that correct so this we can see what Noah was saved by if we're going to be totally

30:46

Speaker A

honest the total honesty is we see let me put purple that way there's no confusion what we see is not Faith producing works but faith and works and they're separated you notice that that's more honest if we're going to look at

31:06

Speaker A

that but look at Romans 11 okay Romans chap 11 and then uh we'll look at verse 6 notice right here Romans chapter 11 and verse 6 and if by Grace then is it what no more Works otherwise Grace is no more

31:23

Speaker A

Grace but if it be a works so let's say we include works no no no there should be works out of this salvation by grace alone salvation by faith alone but the verse says if you put Works in there

31:36

Speaker A

then is it what no more grace otherwise work is no more work what's that verse trying to tell you it's trying to tell you faith means Faith Grace means Grace work means work and work means work these two do not mean the same thing if

31:51

Speaker A

you insist that your salvation by grace to be real it should have works you get even rid of the meaning of works now that's what the verse said that's what it said correct now let me show you something funny keep your hand

32:11

Speaker A

at Romans 11:6 this is going to be very neat okay keep your hand here and go to Genesis 6 Genesis chapter 6 but no leave it to the theologians they have a way around it so you will go to Genesis CH AP

32:31

Speaker A

6 and the theologians will argue no Noah was saved by grace because when we look at Noah uh not Noah Genesis 6:8 verse 8 but Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord see that so they will argue

32:48

Speaker A

here Noah was saved by grace and tricky tricky this is what they're going to argue then when you go to Romans 11:6 see that if Noah was saved by grace there should be no works here if you insist Noah was saved by faith and works

33:09

Speaker A

you're contradicting scripture see that that's how they will argue but here's what they Overlook remember when we believe every word is perfect and now that I got per purple that's good so I'm going to now show the tie

33:26

Speaker A

here when every word is perfect remember there's three steps that's very important if you're forced to believe every word is perfect and this is actually what academic Scholars practice but um they have fanciful words for it so we're not

33:42

Speaker A

going to go through the fanciful words obviously all right I'm going to give you the dumb down English version that anybody can understand the first thing is just believe literally as it says every word okay that's simple this every word being perfect form of

34:05

Speaker A

interpretation forces us to also look at the context the surrounding words see what it says then we can find the proper meaning the third is comparing scripture with scripture scripture with scripture in other words whatever one verse says we don't

34:27

Speaker A

let it stand alone as the right interpretation let's see other verses in the Bible that will support that wording so these three are extremely important behind the mindset of every word is perfect behind the mindset of dispensationalism okay do we understand

34:45

Speaker A

so far now you saw me demonstrate this without us really looking at the verse because I was giving more of a historical background but you saw me give these three things in our previous study you remember that with the James

35:02

Speaker A

salvation versus the Romans 4 salvation right we looked at literally as it said we looked at the context of those books and then we also compared scripture with scripture now notice how we're going to do it in this way it's so brilliant okay

35:18

Speaker A

it's so brilliant you might think the critics have an argument but they don't all right now did they uh look at the uh context here they didn't look at the context of verse five even so then at what at Romans 11:5 excuse me Romans

35:41

Speaker A

11:5 yall see that it says even so then at what what does that mean at this particular time period even so then at this present time also there is a Remnant according to the election of Grace see that so at this

36:07

Speaker A

present time there is Grace then notice right here let's literally go by as what the words say and if by Grace then what no more of Works what does that mean when it says no more of works it's

36:26

Speaker A

implying if we go by every word that no longer is it works what does that mean there was a form of Works before now did you see the Brilliance so verse 5 and six what's it saying basically is because at this time period

36:45

Speaker A

we're going by Grace we're no longer going by works so this verse actually debunk their form of interpretation is showed you when you look at context and literally every word as it says as it says that uh where was I go driving at oh

37:07

Speaker A

yeah as it says that at the church age at this time period we now go by salvation by grace salvation is different we go by salvation by grace not by works however back at the previous time per period there was

37:34

Speaker A

works so this still stands with Noah's case right here the question however that the critics will say is well if Noah was saved by grace then shouldn't he uh have no Works salvation uh they you got to compare scripture with

37:57

Speaker A

scripture okay so look at the Brilliance of God go to John chap 1 John Chapter 1 what you're going to find out is that the grace that God gave in the Old Testament time period is still a different Grace that doctrine of grace

38:16

Speaker A

is divided to a different time period in Noah's that is that operates very differently from the church age time period their operation of Grace is different from Noah so look at John chap 1 scripture with scripture right A lot

38:33

Speaker A

of people don't read this John chapter 1 notice in uh let's see right here John chapter 1 and verse 17 17 for the law was given by Moses but what Grace and Truth came by what I thought that uh Noah had the same Grace

38:57

Speaker A

like we did how did he get that before Jesus Christ if Grace came by Jesus Christ when he came see that don't make sense well what Grace did Noah receive then our Grace is different because of verse 16 look at this and of his fullness have

39:16

Speaker A

all we received and what oh what does that mean the grace that we received is a very special Grace it's a Grace for Grace it's a very special Grace different from the Grace from Noah's time see that now does that make sense that's why

39:36

Speaker A

Noah found Grace why because let's be honest the Lord was gracious all the time no matter what time period if he was never gracious we would have been all Zapped a long time ago right but even though he had Grace

39:51

Speaker A

with people in the Old Testament he still required them to do certain Works he was given giving them a chance right and that's still being very gracious to them but that's not the same as salvation by grace alone without works

40:08

Speaker A

why is that because as we saw in Romans 11 and John chapter 1 this salvation by grace alone is a very special Grace different from other Graces that we have seen and it's only at this time period the church age that it happened but

40:25

Speaker A

let's go back to their very own proof text at Genesis 6 where Noah found Grace they didn't look at context they did not look at context go to Genesis chapter 6 and verse 8 Genesis chter 6:8 did they

40:40

Speaker A

explain why Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord at Genesis 68 but Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord why because he believed on Jesus Christ alone for his salvation not by works far be it from that God gave

40:56

Speaker A

him a work requirement build a huge boat if he didn't build it what would have happened to him he would have drowned with the rest of the lost world who went to hell after that is just common sense

41:11

Speaker A

but let's see why he found Grace at verse eight this is not salvation by grace alone not the same as us verse n these are the generations of Noah Noah was a what just man and perfect in his

41:27

Speaker A

gener ations and Noah walked with God see that it's because of his works because of his walk with God because he was just and perfect that's not the same as us Christians you think you got saved by grace because you are a

41:42

Speaker A

just man and you live perfectly and your walk with God was great let me tell all of you okay I could pretty much say all of you cuz I'm included too our walk with God before we got saved was pretty

41:54

Speaker A

bad all right so we're not saved the same like Noah you notice that all right now notice the Brilliance of this method with every word being perfect you notice that it's retained and the interpretation makes so much sense this

42:11

Speaker A

way and dispensationalism is a must now we see it just makes sense it just harmonizes everything it just makes sense while believing every word is perfect but theological word play you notice doesn't make sense it's very dishonest just to say you're sa by faith alone

42:30

Speaker A

grace alone that produces works is very contradictory doesn't make sense okay now there are people this is a warning okay there are two movements that I want to warn you about from this concept of dispensationalism and every word is

42:50

Speaker A

perfect so please pay attention to me this is the part that you want to hear now one heretical group that you want to avoid their teachings on and I hesitate to say heresy because uh we were act um we both came from the same

43:09

Speaker A

group dispensationalists uh but uh anyways that's a whole another story but what but their teaching nevertheless is wrong and heresy but the group of people uh I don't want to really condemn them that big but they're it's called revised

43:26

Speaker A

dispensation ISM now a lot of people don't know that not even Scholars know this okay revised dispensationalism the one who actually show uh showed you the term was a scholar that a lot of people respect Geisler Norman Geisler and Norman

43:47

Speaker A

Geisler actually is of the branch now I'm not sure if he's calvinist but he is of the teachings he is sympathetic toward the doctrines of covenant theology now what is covenant theology that's a teaching mainly birthed from calvinist from calvinist so

44:06

Speaker A

he is more of that Branch now he's the one that showed you the accuracy of this term what is this term okay basically for a lot of you who don't know dispensationalism once those teachings were first introduced in the popular

44:23

Speaker A

Arena by Darby scoffield and Lin then what happened happened is that now let's go back to our history here then what happened after that so here's dispensationalism saves the day yay problem solved but you think the devil's just going to leave it alone

44:43

Speaker A

no what's his job to mimic God's movement and to cause more confusion right okay so he's going to mimic dispensationalism and then he's going to make it more confusing so from this dispensationalism what happened is that there are wrong teachings from

45:03

Speaker A

dispensationalism that came out that a lot of people don't know about when dispensationalism came to the scene they were dividing groups of people and time period but then PE the theologians who hated dispensationalism were accusing them of teaching different salvation plans which

45:22

Speaker A

is very true I showed you that just now right if you have an honest approach of that then you're going to have to divide salvation plans and they were very honest to point that out the critics of dispensationalism

45:36

Speaker A

dispensationalists what did they do they became more scholarly ah when you become a scholar what happens and the theological hermeneutics come into play right so that becomes dangerous originally dispensationalists were not Scholars they were preachers all right preaching to

45:56

Speaker A

different people scoffield Lin Darby their intention was the common Layman common preachers but then dispensationalists start to get involved in the Academia realm okay all right when they start to get involved in the Academia realm then what happened was

46:15

Speaker A

birds of a feather flocked together wrong influence right then theological hermeneutics obviously was becoming a part of their life as a matter of fact it became so bad bad scholarly opinion became so valued that they were using different Bible versions to support

46:33

Speaker A

their dispensational teachings because when they go by the wordings of the KJV h no you can't do it if you want to support your biased teaching then you're going to have to have different words so even Lin and

46:49

Speaker A

scoffield fell prey to that so they started to uh refer to uh different Bible versions for their teaching now that was just an open door because remember dispensationalism was in its foundational Beginnings okay it started to become popular but now that people

47:08

Speaker A

were referring to different Bible versions what do you think that's going to do now little le le the whole l once you play with words to come up with a different teaching then your teachings are going to be different as well so

47:27

Speaker A

dispensationalists they get accused of teaching different salvation plans and if you go by every word what the Bible says the King James Bible it is different salvations the critics of dispensationalism were honest to point that out as well they said you have to

47:42

Speaker A

teach different salvation plans then so then here comes the dispensational hero Charles ryrie Charles ryrie came and then other people came to the scene where they started to say well salvation uh operated differently but it's the still it's still the same salvation by

48:04

Speaker A

grace through faith not by works so that's what they're going to say so fanciful word playay so with Noah's case for example how would they say it Noah was not saved by works at all he was saved by faith but he demonstrated he

48:19

Speaker A

showed his faith through his works you know you know what they're do they they Retreat back to the same thing that anti- dispensationalist has done so now dispensationalists have now retreated to the same word play similar interpretations that anti-

48:38

Speaker A

dispensationalists have done so it's gotten into a mess as a matter of fact it's gotten so bad that dispensationalists have now become similar in their teaching of Salvation with covenant theology today an anti- dispensational approach on the teach ing

48:57

Speaker A

of lordship Salvation thanks to John MacArthur because he Bridges Calvinism and dispensationalism he's one of the rare preachers to do that and what's the teaching on lordship salvation you are saved by faith alone but if you are genuinely saved by faith alone there

49:14

Speaker A

should be works out of your life you shouldn't be doing these sins and if you are then you're not really saved by faith alone see that so all this fanciful word play comes to the scene and there are so this is known as

49:30

Speaker A

revised dispensationalism now there are people who actually believe who didn't fall prey to the different Bibles they say no we'll we believe only the King James Bible is the right Bible however even though they believed in that then what are you going to do with

49:52

Speaker A

the verses that teach different salvation okay what's so I here here they are they believe every word is perfect how are you going to retain the wording to be perfect while teaching salvation is the same in all time

50:09

Speaker A

periods you have to stretch the word play even more stretch the interpretation even more where you can make the word you don't change a word in the King James Bible but somehow it teaches that salvation is the same for

50:23

Speaker A

Noah as with us that's bad so a lot of people don't know that just because you go to King James only independent fundamental Baptist Churches does not mean that they teach right dispensationalism like we do what they're going to do is this

50:41

Speaker A

dangerous form of interpretation which I want you all avoid so just because you're dispensational you learn something just because you're dispensational doesn't mean you're right because the devil now made more confusion what's the root of dispensationalism every word is

51:01

Speaker A

perfect and you literally interpret the verse as it [Music] says okay that's a root of dispensationalism so then people who call themselves dispensationalists I really hesitate to call them dispensationalists uh I would say they're not genuine or real

51:21

Speaker A

dispensationalists Norman Geisler was honest he said that uh what they had under Charles ryy and others was a very for different form of dispensationalism from the classic dispensationalists Lin scoffield and Darby he called it a revised form a revised form of dispensationalism

51:41

Speaker A

so Geisler was honest to point that out leis sper schaer the one who took over Dallas Theological Seminary the place where you got Dan Wallace correcting your King James Bible the place that's supposed to be dispensational leis Barry

51:55

Speaker A

schaer used to teach salvation was different but then under pressure from his scholarly peers see that he had to uh retra retrace his steps take back what he said and he said no salvation is the same in all time periods see that's

52:15

Speaker A

that's why you notice your pastor he hates scholarship so-call biblical scholarship I kick that to a teeth because Scholars get influenced by fellow Scholars okay okay I hate that I don't want you to fall into that now we're making very good time in fact

52:35

Speaker A

I I'll be a little late again okay that's how bad it is okay now the last thing and then we'll call it a day all right is very important another heresy a lot of people don't realize is hyper or

52:48

Speaker A

midax dispensationalism what is midax they're hyper IND dispensationalism so you'll notice in revised dispensationalism it's more of a weak form of dispensationalism right mid a is the Other Extreme it goes to a hyper form how so so what they will do

53:11

Speaker A

basically is when we go back over here in midx dispensationalism so it makes sense that salvation is different for us compared to the Old Testament correct it makes sense verses that uh you read in the church age time period apply to us right Old

53:38

Speaker A

Testament verses apply to the Old Testament time period makes sense right so then what they go by the extreme of ah so because that sounds logical then what that means is that Christians cannot get any Doctrine from the Old Testament time period

53:58

Speaker A

Christians can only get their doctrines from the church age time period which is Paul they'll say only the Apostle Paul now you'll notice right here after Jesus died on the cross there's a transition from Jews to Gentile Church age Doctrine became very

54:17

Speaker A

clear from Paul now that's very accurate that's the reason why the other books in the New Testament you have to be careful not everything applies to to Christians in the apostles writings some of it can apply to Jews some of it can apply to

54:33

Speaker A

Christians or Gentiles but hyper dispensationalists are very hyper that they will say no only Paul's writings are doctrinally applicable to us everything that the apostles wrote Peter John Etc they do not doctrinally apply to us so that's a very extreme form so

54:54

Speaker A

that's called midax now the reason why they're called mid acts is because see they're trying to point out when right Church age Doctrine came to the scene like middle of Acts but more so so that not to misrepresent them more so the

55:10

Speaker A

body of Christ which is where our church age Doctrine come from so they claim the body of Christ started at the middle of acts so that's to accurately represent them more but uh you don't have to know all of that I'm just trying to make it

55:24

Speaker A

more understandable for all of you see how there rationale their logic Works we're going by Roots right that's the teaching here Roots so we're trying to go by that so the second heresy is Mida dispensationalism now how do we prove

55:39

Speaker A

that teaching wrong because it does sound logical when you were to think about it you know it just makes sense if you apply only Paul's writings to uh the Christian church and Christians shouldn't take any doctrinal application in any other books in the Bible but uh

55:55

Speaker A

that is actually wrong because even Paul himself disagrees okay go to the Book of Romans 11 and then I want you to go to Romans 11 and Acts chapter 2 okay there are two verses and then I'll close it off here okay and then I have

56:24

Speaker A

to give us another historical background which I'm not done yet sorry okay all right Romans chap 11 and acts chap 2 now notice right here um in Romans chap 11 Paul is quoting uh from the Old Testament in uh Romans chap 11 and verse

56:47

Speaker A

Oh I said chapter 11 I'm sorry I meant chapter 15 15 sorry 15 15 verse 12 and again Isaiah saith there shall be a root of Jesse and he that shall rise to Reign Over the Gentiles in him shall the Gentiles trust

57:06

Speaker A

so notice that Paul argues that a passage in Isaiah shows what the Christians or the Gentiles trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ you notice that he's applying that to the church age time period from Isaiah hold hold that thought go to Acts

57:28

Speaker A

2 Acts chapter 2 and then we'll look at verse 21 acts 2:21 this is what Peter argued acts 2:21 and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved do you know who also

57:49

Speaker A

said that Paul Romans 10:13 whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved so that's Church age Doctrine right but Peter said it's quoted from what Joel at ver at verse 16 you notice that it's quoted from Joel okay notice

58:08

Speaker A

that these two Apostles couldn't be more wrong than ever okay so go I want you to go to Joel chapter 2 now Joel chapter 2 and Isaiah 11 Joel 2 and Isaiah 11 Joel chapter 2 and Isaiah 11 okay I

58:31

Speaker A

apologize but I have to just read ahead for time's sake okay you know how I hate it to go over time but I always go over time okay so we'll go to Joel 2 and Isaiah 11 now Isaiah 11: 10 and in that

58:47

Speaker A

day what is that day the CH uh there shall be a root of Jesse which shall stand for an end sin of the people to it shall the Gentile seek and his rest shall be glorious okay that's what Paul

58:59

Speaker A

was quoting but what time period is that and it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people verse 12 Israel it's his

59:15

Speaker A

second coming when he restores Israel that's in the future tribulation Paul misquoted then he was dishonest he took that verse and Ed to the church age go to Joel 2 Joel 2 notice Peter did the same thing Joel

59:32

Speaker A

chapter 2 Joel chapter 2 and notice uh what he says about whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord when we uh look at verse 11 verse 11 and the Lord shall utter his voice before his army for his Camp is very

59:55

Speaker A

great for he is strong that executeth his word for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible and who can abide it ah this is talking about his second coming if you look at uh verse uh

60:08

Speaker A

this is not Church age you'll notice in verse one blow ye the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in my Holy Mountain let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the day of the Lord cometh for it is not at hand a day of darkness

60:21

Speaker A

and of gloominess a day of clouds and of thick Darkness notice verse four the appearance of them is as the appearance of horses and as Horsemen so shall they run notice in verse uh five like the noise of Chariots on the top of mountain

60:35

Speaker A

shall they leap like the noise of a flame of fire that Devour the stubble as a strong people set in Array of battle what's going on over here notice that it's the same thing it is the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ we see

60:50

Speaker A

that so far correct so it has nothing to do with a church age Doctrine but what you're going to know notice in the last verse go to the last verse 32 31 even told you the the time period

61:04

Speaker A

it's not Church age 31 told you before the Great and the terrible day of the Lord come right but look at verse 32 that Peter quoted and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered for

61:17

Speaker A

in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be Deliverance what a contradiction right what a contradiction what a mess up what's going on here very simple these are the words of God right if they are the words of God is God Bound by time he is not bound

61:41

Speaker A

by time when he speaks is it possible when he gives a statement he could see five different groups of people five different time periods going on why because he is present tense I am that I am so when he gives a statement

61:58

Speaker A

yeah he gives a statement in Joel 2 about the second coming but he also sees you know what that can also work in the church age so that's why Peter said that when Isaiah 11 the Gentiles they uh uh

62:14

Speaker A

seek after God at his restoration of Israel but you know what God will also uh God said you know what even though it applies to that future time period I also see that it will apply to the church age as well that it will fit well

62:30

Speaker A

with that the best example is Messianic prophecies if you look at Messianic prophecies it's very plain it's very apparent from Messianic prophecies that um when you look at the verses that prophesy about Jesus dying that it doesn't apply to Jesus all

62:50

Speaker A

the time it'll apply to Israel it'll apply to the psalmist David and Etc but Christians apply them to Jesus and the Old Testament time period see that what's going on double application we call it so thus we close it here so and

63:09

Speaker A

every word being perfect approach forces you to believe in double application when you look at the verse it's very important not to just end it there you have to see that I wonder if has a double application a second

63:28

Speaker A

application can this verse apply to a different group of people can it apply to a different time period there can be two different doctrines in that one verse not just one Doctrine see that's the mistake of mid acts

63:44

Speaker A

dispensationalist so that's the reason why they don't see Old Testament verses or verses from other Apostles that can doctrinally not just devotionally not just practically but doctrinally apply to Christians you you're going to see that so that's evidence of that okay so

64:02

Speaker A

I hope that this teaching has been very helpful and eye openening to you on the roots of dispensationalism every word being perfect as a matter of fact what's very interesting you're going to find a good number of midax hyper

64:16

Speaker A

dispensational churches who are not KJV only or are unfamiliar with that issue so that's the reason why you want to avoid so this might be controversial to say it but basically fake dispensationalists not real dispensationalists you now know what

64:34

Speaker A

real dispensationalism is and the root behind it father God I want to thank you so much for the truth of your word and I pray that these roots have been very helpful that when we interpret the Bible ourselves in our own Bible studies and

64:47

Speaker A

time that we can see the interpretation lining up and making sense in Jesus name we pray amen
