If they're different, then they're different. Okay, look at the gospel of the kingdom. The Bible points out in Matthew chapter 4. 18:25 Speaker A And we'll look at verse 23, verse 23. And Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. All right, so that's verse 23. 18:37 Speaker A So far So, let's take the assumption that this is our gospel. Fine, all right? But as you pay attention to words, that's the key, remember? I spent a long time on that. So, don't ever let that let that leave your mind. 18:50 Speaker A Keep in your mind about words. And see if those words are different from what? "And his fame went throughout all Syria, and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with 20:21 Speaker A devils, and those that which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy, and he healed them." Okay, so let's just take it for granted that this gospel of the kingdom that it's still for us. Now, look at chapter 5, the famous sermon on the 20:37 Speaker A mount right? Now, let's keep reading here in verse 10. Verse 10 "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." So, if you went through persecution, you gained the kingdom of heaven. 23:50 Speaker A And I have a question. If they were to barge in through those doors right now and then they said, "Deny Jesus." And then they put a gun on your loved one's head and say, "You better deny Jesus, or I'm going to torture your 24:05 Speaker A loved one." And that happened in church history. And you denied Jesus what would you think? 24:13 Speaker A That you got denied the kingdom of heaven? I mean, read that verse, man. So, here we go. 32:27 Speaker A Let's deal with the harmonization issues. So, what are some things that we can harmonize in the gospel of the kingdom with Paul's gospel? That's why people will conflate the two. Oh, one they'll say that it says kingdom of heaven. So, 32:42 Speaker A it has nothing to do with the Messianic kingdom on the earth. Kingdom of heaven. So, it has to do with going to heaven. But here's the problem with that logic. 32:52 Speaker A Problem with that logic is that phrase, if you read even historical texts, they know that has to do with building God's kingdom on the earth. 33:02 Speaker A So, such as the Lord's Prayer. You may have heard the Lord's Prayer. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 33:10 Speaker A Where God up in heaven reigns, he can also rule on the earth. They connect heaven and earth together that way. I mean, even the famous movie Kingdom of Heaven, right? I don't see a bunch of angels with wings strumming on harps up 33:26 Speaker A there at the third heaven. No, it has to do with the city of Jerusalem, obviously. 33:30 Speaker A Why? Cuz they're all anticipating for a Messianic kingdom. And the Catholic Church wanted that. See, that's why there was the infamous Crusades. And then the Muslims wanted that piece of land as well. 33:42 Speaker A So, it has to do with an earthly kingdom. Uh what's another harmonization issue? They might say it said believe at Mark chapter 16, right? 33:52 Speaker A Mark chapter 16 and points out believe. But in answer to that one, and I hope that you're writing all this down, okay? 34:01 Speaker A Because you'll need this because they're going to try to tell you that's not a different gospel. So, you better have an explanation ready. 34:09 Speaker A All right. So, because it mentioned believe at Mark chapter 16. In Mark chapter 16, it mentioned in verse 16, he that believe it. See that? 34:19 Speaker A And then it mentions in verse 17, these signs shall follow them that believe. So, that will be their excuse to prove and to push the gospel of the kingdom. 34:31 Speaker A But this is very simple, okay? If I it's easier than you think. Look at verse 20 Look at verse 21 through 23. I want to do it this way. 37:02 Speaker A 21 through 23. For after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God. It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. All right. This has to do obviously with Paul's gospel for salvation and 37:20 Speaker A believing right? This is 1 Corinthians 1 and carrying on to 1 Corinthians 15, right? 37:27 Speaker A Death, burial, resurrection. All right. Now, look at this what he says. In verse 22, for the Jews require a what? 37:35 Speaker A Sign. All right. Remember, Jesus said the signs will follow them that believe, right? But he says Jews require sign. And then And the Greeks seek after wisdom. Verse 23, but what? We contradicting the Jews with their sign. 37:53 Speaker A Separating from the Jews and their sign. Distinguishing us from the Jews and their signs. But we preach what? Christ crucified. And unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness. 38:10 Speaker A The gospel is supposed to contradict the Greeks with their wisdom and the Jews with their sign. 38:15 Speaker A Look at that. It's It's contra- It's discerning. It's distinguishing from that. So, obviously, then Paul's gospel is different from how Jesus did his gospel with the kingdom. 38:28 Speaker A Here's another one. 1 Corinthians 5. Let's look at the book of 2 Corinthians, excuse me, 5. 2 Corinthians chapter 5. 38:41 Speaker A 2 Corinthians 5. What is a sign? Pay attention [clears throat] to words and their meaning. People don't do that. Pay attention to words and their meaning. 38:52 Speaker A Let's go here. What is a sign? A sign is something visible to see. Is that correct? 39:07 Speaker A That's what a sign is, okay? Get a dictionary okay? [clears throat] It's intended to see something. All right? 39:16 Speaker A Visible to see. All right. If you want to put the gospel of faith with signs, there's something else different here that Paul says at 2 Corinthians chapter 5. 39:30 Speaker A In verse 7. Verse 7. He says, "For we walk by what?" Faith. Not by what? 39:39 Speaker A Wait a minute. See that? Our gospel is of faith and even our Christian walk. Yeah. So notice right here again that these gospels have to be different. 40:04 Speaker A Yes. They are not the same. Now, he point out water baptism, right? Yes, he did. Go to 1 Corinthians 1. Now, look at 1 Corinthians chapter 1. Notice the gospel distinguishes from water baptism. 40:36 Speaker A 1 Corinthians 1 verse 17, verse 17. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to what? Preach Preach the gospel. Wait a minute, I thought the gospel is supposed TO HAVE WATER BAPTISM OR YOU'LL be damned. 40:53 Speaker A But Paul says, you know what? I'm not going to baptize because I want to preach the gospel instead. Then when you hear that, doesn't don't they sound different?
