Both are the wrong reactions. So, I spent time running a full match through an AI analysis tool. And what I found should change how you think about your role as a coach or an analyst going forward. 'Cause here's what no one's telling you. It's handling the grunt work, but there is a specific part of the job that it cannot do. And that part is where your value lives. And what I'm going to do now is input it into where it says, uh, input a YouTube link. Okay. And we are just going to click analyze match and we're going to see what it spits out. I'm very keen to see the sort of detail that it goes into, how accurate the insights are going to be. So this is going to be really interesting, guys. So, I'm going to fast forward this bit, guys, 'cause you don't want to be waiting around. And we will come back once we have some insights here. The AI looks to have done its thing on the match, and we're about to dive in and take a look at what sort of outputs it has given us. So, let's just go straight into it. Match completed. And here is the analysis. We can see we've got the, we've got the game in here. So, it's showing you the full match. We've got Liverpool versus Real Madrid. This is the Champions League final of 2022. And first thing to note, right, it has coded all of these stats for you. We're going to compare it to some, some, uh, stat sites as well, so you can really get an idea of how accurate these are. But this is pretty mind-blowing straight away. I mean, this has taken about an hour to two hours to fully analyze. And I've not had to do anything. I've not touched it. 01:30 Speaker A Okay, I've went away and gone to grab some food and the coffee and I've came back and it's done all this stuff for me. So we're going to have a look at in more detail. Okay. So first thing to know of course it is it has recorded that Real Madrid won the game 1 nil which they did and of course it got one assist for the goal possession stats. 01:37 Speaker A Okay. Now we're going to compare this to another, an external site. We're going to use Foot Mob to compare it but this will show you how accurate it is. Okay. So we've got 46% to Real Madrid and we've got 54 to Liverpool. Let's go over and check this on a different site. Right. 01:44 Speaker A So we can see here on Foot Mob, of course, a really good stat site if you want to go and check them out as well, but the exact same possession has been recorded. Okay, it has done that perfectly. And I know different stat sites have different models. Okay, so you're going to expect some deviation between the numbers. But look how accurate it is compared to, compared to Foot Mob as well. We look at the, the shots on target. Nine to Liverpool in this game compared to two to Real Madrid. And so let's head back onto the, onto the AI site. And again we can see here very, very accurate. It's only missed it off by one. Okay. But as, as we know you can expect some deviation between the numbers. So straight away this is, this is really impressive. And I've not had to do any coding here. This would normally take an analyst to code all these stats hours and hours even, even days. And it's done this in an hour which is very impressive. But also I want to show you down here. And you can see they win the ball back. Okay. So what would have taken an analyst hours? This system has done it by itself and I've not had to touch anything. So pretty crazy already, right? Of course, the outputs there were very impressive in such a short amount of time and it will get very very 07:46 Speaker A good at automating certain things like that and cutting out a lot of time that analysts and coaches spend on that sort of stuff. So, it is technically accurate on the surface, but it is missing something as well. One big thing that 07:59 Speaker A it's missing is context. So, it perhaps doesn't know that one team might have played three games within 7 days and therefore it doesn't understand the fitness levels of some players. It might not also know that a center back, for 08:12 Speaker A example, in the game might have been carrying an injury. And so the insights that it gave you might not be accurate because it didn't have that context. And it also doesn't tell you that you might have spotted that a manager had a 08:23 Speaker A conversation with a player which changed his role at halfime, but the AI didn't quite latch on to it. So AI can read what is happening very very well, but it can't understand why it happened. And in football, the why is almost always where 08:36 Speaker A the real insight is. And that is what makes the job of a coach and an analyst so valuable. So what does this actually mean for you? The coaches and analysts who are going to fall behind are not going to be the ones who are bad at 08:48 Speaker A analysis. They're going to be the ones spending all of their time doing the stuff that AI can do now and a lot faster. And the the people who will have a massive edge in this industry in the future will be the ones who use AI to 09:01 Speaker A handle all the data stuff, all the the coding, but then apply their human judgment on top of it. That includes things like context like I've just spoken about, communication, problem solving, creativity. AI can't do any of that and that's why it won't replace 09:16 Speaker A you. So your job won't disappear, but it will change over the next few years. And the difference will be that the best coaches and analysts won't just understand the game, but they'll know how to operate and use these tools well 09:29 Speaker A enough to free up their time for more valuable things like thinking and providing clarity to the team or communication and problem solving.
