# Which languages are supported

**In short** SozAI transcribes speech in 99 languages. The language is detected automatically, so you do not choose it before uploading. Translating the finished text into other languages is a separate step.

## How the language is chosen

You do not set a language when you upload or record: SozAI detects it from the speech itself and stores one language for the whole recording.

## App language and recording language

The app’s interface language does not affect the language of the transcript. You can use the app in Russian and transcribe a recording in Spanish.

## Translation

You can translate a finished transcript: in the recording menu choose Translate. See [Translate a recording into another language](https://sozai.app/help/study/translate-recording/).
