# How to fix a mistake in the text

 Updated 6 October 2026 · 2 min read

**In short** In the app you can edit the text: open the recording, tap “⋯”, choose Edit transcript, then tap the line you want to change. Timestamps are kept. The web version cannot edit the text.

## How to fix a line

### iPhone and iPad

1. Open the recording and tap ⋯ at the top right.
2. In the Recording menu choose Edit transcript. The app tells you: “Tap any line to edit it. Timestamps stay intact.”
3. Tap the line with the mistake, correct the text and tap Save.
4. “Transcript updated” appears.

### Android

### Web

The web version cannot edit the text of a recording: its recording screen has no such control. Correct the text in the app; it is stored in your account, so the correction shows on the web too.

What you can change on the web: the title (click it, or choose Rename in the ••• menu) and the speakers (click a name next to a phrase).

## If a translation is open

Only the original can be edited. The app switches to it by itself and tells you so.

## If speakers are mixed up

That is fixed separately: [Speakers are separated incorrectly](https://sozai.app/help/transcription/speakers/).

## If the item is missing

The app may say “Editing isn’t available for this transcription yet”. In that case, [Contact us](https://sozai.app/help/contact/).
