# How to delete my account

**In short** Open Profile → Account → Delete Account and confirm. Your recordings, notes and account data are deleted and cannot be recovered. A subscription in the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by this: cancel it separately.

## How to delete your account

### iPhone and iPad

1. If you have a subscription, cancel it first: Profile → Subscription → Manage Subscription opens your App Store subscriptions.
2. Open Profile → Account → Delete Account.
3. Read the warning, tick I understand that this action is permanent and cannot be undone, type DELETE and tap Delete My Account.

### Android

1. If you have a subscription, cancel it first: Profile → Subscription → Manage Subscription opens your subscriptions in Google Play.
2. Open Profile → Account → Delete Account.
3. Read the warning, tick I understand that this action is permanent and cannot be undone, type DELETE and tap Delete My Account.

### Web

1. Open Account → Data and privacy → Delete account….
2. Read what will be deleted, type the word “delete” and click Delete forever. You cannot cancel a subscription on the web: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.

## What happens to your subscription

Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription in the store. If it is active, it keeps running, and Restore Purchases brings it back in a new account. If you do not need it, cancel it: [how to cancel my subscription](https://sozai.app/help/billing/cancel-subscription/).

## What gets deleted

The app warns that your transcriptions, summaries and audio recordings are deleted and the account cannot be restored. If you signed in with Apple, we also send Apple a request to revoke Sign in with Apple when the account is deleted. ## If you use the app without signing in

For a guest account, the row is called Delete guest account and recordings.
